iPhone 17 series to cost more, except the vanilla iPhone 17
A market analyst predicts that Apple will raise its prices by $50 in the US on almost all models. This means that the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will ask $1,049 and $1,249, respectively.
Since the rumored iPhone 17 Slim doesn't have an equivalent in the current iPhone 16 lineup, it's hard to tell what the pricing will be, but the general sentiment is that it will replace the iPhone 16 Plus and will inherit the same price tag. If that's true, the 17 Slim will likely go for $949.
The only iPhone in the series that will escape the rumored $50 price hike is the vanilla iPhone 17.
According to the analyst, Apple increasing prices is mostly due to the import tariffs as well as the rising cost of some components.
In any case, that was bound to happen at some point because the iPhone Pro, for example, has been selling for $999 in the US since 2019.

The voiceover in the video tells you that if you buy a new phone because of a feature that's coming soon, but it's been coming soon for a full year (ouch), then you either need to change your definition of the word "soon", or change your phone. Obviously, Google would prefer that you switch to a Pixel, if you're a disgruntled Apple customer. Google assumes those exist, but in reality there aren't really that many of them. Definitely not enough to make any sort of significant impact on Google's smartphone sales, that's for sure. Anyway, the fact that Google's teaser video is using an instrumental version of the track The Next Episode by Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg is noteworthy too, since Dr. Dre sold Beats to Apple in 2014. We assume it wasn't a coincidence that Google chose one of Dre's best known songs of all time.

Apple's foldable iPad now rumored to be delayed
While a lot of rumors have recently converged upon the fact that Apple's first foldable iPhone is coming in late 2026, or perhaps early 2027 at the latest, a foldable iPad - or Mac - with an 18.8-inch screen also used to be talked about a lot. At one point this was even said to be the first folding-screen Apple device to reach the market. But all of that has changed now, and a new report from GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu claims we'll be waiting a lot for this device to actually arrive. Specifically, Pu, who's well versed in Apple-related information, says the larger foldable has been delayed by Apple internally. This means it will no longer enter mass production in Q4 2026 for a likely release in 2027. Unfortunately, Pu hasn't gone into more detail about how long the delay is going to be. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, a reliable source of Apple-related information, thinks a foldable iPad is only coming in 2028 (but with a 20" screen). It's still unclear if this will be an iPad or a Mac, by the way, but anyway it's a device with a folding screen, and one that's bigger than the foldable iPhone will be. What exact OS it runs is kind of irrelevant if it's still three years out. Via
