Loose Women star Kaye Adams reveals warning sign that shows a panellist 'won't last' on the show

Daily Record07-05-2025

Loose Women star and original panellist Kaye Adams has revealed the one warning sign that shows a new face "won't last" on the popular daytime chat show.
In the past 25 years, the Loose Women panel has seen nearly 70 presenters take a seat at the iconic desk. However, despite the longevity of the original "fab four" - comprised of Nadia Sawalha, Jane Moore, Karren Brady, and Kaye Adams - there's one telltale sign that a new presenter might not stick around for long, according to Kaye.
During her chat on Emily Dean's Walking The Dog podcast, Kaye, who has had two lengthy stints on the show, from 1999 to 2006 and from 2013 to the present, stressed the importance of openness for those on the panel.

She admitted that she isn't a natural "oversharer," but suggested that anyone joining the show with intentions of keeping their personal life under wraps is unlikely to be asked back.

Kaye said: "Over the years, and obviously it's been a long time, and people have come in and come out, and some people have stayed the course, and other people have been [on the show] for a shorter time.
"But there have been a few sort of names who have come in, and they sit down and say 'I can't talk about this, and I can't talk about that...' And the rest of us are probably sitting there thinking, ''Well, you're not going to last!'"
Furthermore, she pointed out that panellists who hold strong opinions privately but shy away from expressing them on air don't mesh well with the ethos of Loose Women, reports Devon Live.
Kaye, who became a mother relatively late in life, concedes that she may have been a bit too candid about certain matters: "I had Charley, my first daughter, when I was 39. And I did find the transition quite tough.
"Having spent most of my adult life doing exactly what I wanted, whenever I wanted, suddenly to be responsible for this little baby, I felt pinned down."

Kaye admits that after publicly acknowledging these feelings, it was challenging when her daughter stumbled upon the quote years later and questioned her about it: "I did regret that for a while," she confessed: "But it was the truth".
Now that Kaye's daughter is 22, that's no longer a problem, she added. However, it led to an uncomfortable discussion when she was eight.
Currently, Kaye faces a different issue. Speaking on Loose Women last Summer, she disclosed: "Bonnie has gone off to Edinburgh University - she won't thank me for saying that.
"Charley is now working so she's away as well. Second one out the house is tough, I have to say I am finding it difficult. The place is too tidy, we've got too much milk in the fridge - I don't know how we're going to stop the milk order."

Amanda Holden shares daughter's common outfit criticism

Amanda Holden says there is one thing that her daughter Lexi can say about her outfit that will make her go and change immediately Amanda Holden has disclosed that a sharp five-word critique from her daughter about her style is all it takes to make her reconsider her wardrobe choice. Known for her bold outfit choices on Britain's Got Talent, Amanda's most controversial outfit reportedly drew over 600 viewer complaints to regulatory body Ofcom, reports Devon Live. ‌ The 54-year-old says there is a team of people who examine what she wears before she steps on stage. Amanda, however, insists the TV talent show is the "perfect opportunity to take risks". ‌ Despite this, she says there are moments of indecision, confessing that after her stylist presents "rails and rails" of potential outfits, she frequently chooses one, only to switch moments later. Amanda, who shares her home with her husband Chris Hughes and daughters Lexi, 19, and Hollie, 12, acknowledges that their opinions matter to her. Revealing to the Sun's TV magazine, she said: "My daughters normally love my outfits, but Lexi is quite critical, like her daddy." She shares a common exchange with them: "I'm like, 'Do you like this?' And she'll say: 'No!' But it doesn't change my mind if somebody doesn't like my outfit - if I think it's great, I'll wear it." Amanda admits there's one type of feedback from her eldest that will prompt an immediate costume change: "Though if Lexi says: 'It makes you look old' then I listen to that." Amanda and her co-judge, Alesha Dixon, faced a furore over their choice of attire at the Britain's Got Talent final last week, with Ofcom receiving 72 gripes for outfits deemed "too revealing for a family show". ‌ Back in July 2017, Amanda turned heads and sparked debate when she donned a daring Julien Macdonald number, which later became the year's most controversial TV topic. The mother of two wryly dubbed it a 'national crisis' at the time. ‌ Chatting with Closer magazine, Amanda quipped: "I'm always asked about the Ofcom complaints, but every outfit on the show is checked before I leave my dressing room, so I'm never worried. I think people should have fun with fashion!" Not stopping there, she explained: "I had bits of fish wire underneath my breasts trying to hold that together... It's all quite laughable, but all everyone seems to talk about. It's been called another national crisis – but oh no, I will not be covered up." Amanda is unapologetic about her desire to "always look good", asserting: "There's no way I'd step out in my pyjamas or rock up without a lash. To preserve my own sense of dignity, I always try to look good." Last week saw the curtains close on Britain's Got Talent, with Harry Moulding clinching the title amid stiff competition. Despite an electrifying performance from The Blackout, it was Harry who charmed his way into the nation's hearts and secured the most votes.

The Gavin & Stacey star, 48, appeared on Wednesday's instalment of the ITV show and sat down with Christine Lampard, 46, Grace Keeling, 25, Janet Street-Porter, 78 and Jane Moore, 63. 'I'm really intrigued about what I've heard, and it's the new career move. Something to do with a sex therapist?' Grace asked. Joanna opened up about her passion for speaking with people about their relationship woes. She said: 'I've always wanted to become a sex therapist, I've always wanted to train as a relationship counsellor because I'm interested in chatting to people and their relationships and listening to their problems and what's happened and how I can talk to them about it. The Gavin & Stacey star, 48, appeared on Wednesday's instalment of the ITV show and sat down with Christine Lampard , 46, Grace Keeling, 25, Janet Street-Porter , 78 and Jane Moore , 63 'I imagine though that you guys are going to ruin this next career move of mine,' the actress added, laughing. Joanna admitted that she'd 'love' to go into the field and revealed she had already been putting her skills to use. 'I'd love to do that, I've been in the house and I've had like delivery drivers coming round and they've dropped off a delivery and then James has gone 'Oh my gosh it's 20 minutes later, where is she?' and I've been in the back of a van talking to a driver,' she explained. Joanna added: 'And he's been like 'Well I don't know what to do in my relationship with my girlfriend, what do you think?' 'And James caught me in the back and was like 'Are you alright?'. I said 'Yeah I'll be out in a minute I'm just talking to him, and I was talking to him about his relationship with his girlfriend.' Last year, Joanna revealed she found filming the final day of Gavin and Stacey Christmas special 'traumatic' as she opened up about the 'emotional' last day on set. The last ever instalment aired in a 90-minute special on Christmas Day 2024 after fans of the show begged for an end to the story. T he Welsh actress, who portrays Stacey Shipman in the BAFTA-winning TV series, revealed filming the last-ever episode left her 'hysterically crying and laughing'. Joanna said: 'Being on set for the last time with everybody for the last day was traumatic. I knew I was going to cry as soon as I walked on set. 'I saw Steve's face, our first AD, and I just burst out crying. Then I saw Sophie Hebron, our second AD, and I burst out crying again. So then I went into my trailer and Julia Davis came in and sat with me, and I couldn't stop crying, because it just felt it was such a huge journey that was ending. 'So I found it very emotional but then in between that, hysterically funny, because the last scene we filmed was a funny one, so I just alternated between hysterically crying and hysterically laughing.' Recalling the final moments on set, she continued: 'Right at the very end, on our last bit of filming, I just got this sense of calm wash over me. 'I remember standing there and looking around at everybody and everybody's faces, and I just remember smiling quite calmly to myself and thinking 'wow, look where we've all come, look where we all are now'. 'I delivered my last lines, the way that I wanted to, and the way that I needed to, and then when they shouted, 'it's a wrap' and then they clapped all of us goodbye and I just hugged Mat, and we both stood there crying.' Loose Women airs weekdays from 12:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.

Loose Women's Christine Lampard hides face as co-star makes jibe about husband

Christine Lampard was left red-faced after Janet Street-Porter made comments about her husband Frank Lampard's physique during the latest edition of Loose Women Loose Women made a splash when it returned on Wednesday (11 June). Christine Lampard led the panel and was joined by Janet Street Porter, GK Barry, and Jane Moore. In the latest edition, the team tackled a medley of hot topics and chatted with stars like Joanna Page and Liz McClarnon. ‌ At one point, the discussion turned to the contrasts between type A and type B personalities, especially in terms of how they prepare for holidays versus their normal routines. ‌ After Grace shared tales from her recent trip with partner Ella Rutherford, Janet couldn't resist teasing Christine about her own vacation snaps with hubby Frank Lampard. "Christine's grilling you about this, but the pictures of her on holiday last weekend, I was looking at," Janet said. "Now, before we talk about type A or type B, can we just talk about your husband's physique?" The studio erupted into laughter at the question, and Janet confessed she'd even shown her other half the photos of the ex-Chelsea star due to his impressive shape, reports Belfast Live. With a comedic jab, Janet said: "Pictures of Frank online, diving into the pool, flab-free! I said to my partner, 'Look at Frank Lampard. He's not six months pregnant." Christine, giggling and somewhat mortified, hit back: "Janet! I tell you what, Janet's taken up four minutes there just talking about Frank Lampard!" ‌ Christine provided a glimpse into her marriage by complimenting her husband, with whom she has two children, for being "incredibly good" at planning trips and holidays due to his affinity for organisation. She stated: "Now, to give Frank his physique, and his personality dues, he is A type. He is incredibly good at organising things, and it's a bit like you just described there. "He's very good, and I think it's just his personality. It's what he's always been like. He likes planning; he likes an itinerary. He likes to have everything booked. He has no problem taking care of everything." The couple, who started dating in 2009 and married in December 2015, have a son and daughter together, and Christine also acts as stepmother to Frank's two daughters from a previous relationship. Loose Women airs on weekdays on ITV1 from 12.30pm
