Trae Young slams new Superman movie for weak portrayal of his favorite superhero
Trae Young is in the Atlanta Hawks now (Image via Getty Images) The Atlanta Hawks forward Trae Young recently made headlines as he voiced his dissatisfaction with the way Superman was portrayed in the most recent film adaptation. The NBA icon, who is well-known for being open on social media, expressed his opinions regarding the movie on X. On the other hand, he again went viral after responding to Iman Shumpert's criticism with a vicious dig. Trae Young fires back at Superman portrayal and Iman Shumpert's criticism in viral fashion Trae Young , a die-hard Superman fan, recently voiced his displeasure with the famous superhero's portrayal. He took to X on July 21 and wrote: 'These Superman movies starting to make him look weak or it's just me??? That's my favorite superhero btw I'm asking cause I'm really upset..' Superman has been regarded as a representation of power, optimism, and invincibility for many generations. However, devoted admirers like Trae Young don't like how the recent film adaptations of the character have tended towards vulnerability. On the other hand, after retaliating against a former NBA champion for offensive remarks on ESPN, the Atlanta Hawks player again made headlines. Iman Shumpert talked about Trae Young during a recent NBA Today appearance. Shump wasn't convinced that the superhero movie enthusiast could become a great NBA player. The former NBA champion specifically criticized him for reportedly being too undersized and a defensive liability for a team that wanted to win a title. Slamming the NBA star, he said: 'Trae Young statistically, what he brings to a game of basketball, I get it. At 6'3, it's tough to say can he switch onto a 5 at the end of the game, can he guard a bigger guard… Can he make a 2-guard a scoring champion?' Trae Young in action (Image via Getty Images). In response to a fan who criticized Shump for his remarks, Trae Young said that he had defeated him in their most recent matchup. Responding to the comment, he wrote: 'That's why I let them live… What I did to him on the court when we played, you'd think he'd have more respect when my name gets brought up! I could keep going… No hate this way, tho (sic).' Meanwhile, Trae Young's comment on the new Superman movie reflects a larger discussion among superhero fans over how comic book characters are changing and being reinterpreted for contemporary audiences. James Gunn's Take On David Corenswet Replacing Henry Cavill In Superman
Last Updated: James Gunn discusses telling Henry Cavill he won't return as Superman, calling it "unfair." Gunn hints at future DCU roles for Cavill. Amid the thunderous response coming in for the latest release, Superman, director James Gunn reflected on the moment when he had to tell Henry Cavill that he was not returning to the film. Gunn took a trip down memory lane to recall the time when a section of the studio tried to 'force" the casting of Cavill in the film which was 'never part of the equation," which, according to him, created an 'unfair" situation for Cavill. During a recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, as quoted by Variety, Gunn said, 'The day our [DC] deal closed, all of a sudden, they were announcing that Henry was back. And I'm like, 'What is going on?' We know what the plan is. The plan was to come in and do 'Superman.' So it was really unfair to him and a total bummer." To solve the misunderstanding, James Gunn decided to sit down for a chat with Henry Cavill and disclose the news himself. The director added, 'So, that was really unfortunate. Peter and I [thought] the right thing to do was to sit down with [Cavill] and talk to him. And we sat down and we talked to him. He was an absolute gentleman, a great guy about it. He said, 'The only thing I ask is that I'm able to reveal it myself as opposed to it coming from you guys." Gunn also hinted at bringing back Henry Cavill to the future DCU movies. When asked whether it would be 'too confusing" to recast the actor in the DC Universe, the director responded, 'No, as another character? Absolutely not. I talked to him about it on that day. I would love to put Henry in something." Henry Cavill played the Man of Steel across three DC films from 2013 to 2017. He was replaced by David Corenswet for Gunn's DCU debut feature Superman, which arrived in theatres on July 11. Alongside David Cornswet, Superman also features Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner) and Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl). 'The Last of Us Season 3' confirmed for 2027: Major cast changes and new focus on Abby
After much anticipation, the producers have confirmed that 'The Last of Us' season 3 is in the works and will be released sometime in 2027. However, there are some heartbreaking changes for the fans. 'The Last of Us' season 3 release In an interview with Variety, Casey Bloys, the CEO of HBO, revealed that the showrunner Craig Mazin is currently deciding the fate of the series, whether to end it in one extended season or divide it into two. 'The series is definitely planned for 2027,' he said, before adding, '[Creator] Craig [Mazin] is still working it out whether it will be two more seasons or one more long season. It hasn't been decided yet, and I'm following Craig's lead on that." However, certain changes would be that the third season would move forward without the fan favourite actor Pedro Pascal , as his character unfortunately had to go through death, and the co-creator Neil Druckmann won't be joining the team as well. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Investire per il futuro? Inizia da qui eToro Click Here Undo About co-creator Neil Druckmann 'I said to Craig, 'What do you want to do next?' And 'Last of Us' was what he wanted to do. That's what was most important to me, Craig's creative excitement about the show. It was fantastic to have Neil involved. A lot of people don't realise that Neil has a full-time job creating video games and running Naughty Dog,' Bloys said in the interview. 'It's a really big job that he's got. So I understand why he needs to focus on that. But I believe he's given us a good blueprint with the show. And obviously Craig is a pro, so I think we'll be in excellent shape. I'm not worried at all,' he further concluded. As far as season 3 goes, it would focus more on Abby's character, who would become the central character in the second half of the game, while Ramsey's character would be reduced.
