Sam Fender has suffered a vocal cord haemorrhage.
The 31-year-old star has been forced to cancel a series of festival performances after being diagnosed with a vocal cord haemorrhage, with Sam admitting that he doesn't want to risk causing "lasting damage to [his] vocal cords".
In a statement posted on Instagram, Sam - who recently performed at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone - said: "Hey everyone, at the beginning of the week I got my voice checked by my ENT Doctor and the cords were slightly swollen. After a few days rest I was advised by my team that I was okay to perform.
"On stage at Silverstone I could feel that things were a lot harder than usual, I felt I needed to push a lot harder to sing, this is never a good sign. I've just been checked by my ENT again today, as I was concerned about it, and it's transpired that I've had a haemorrhage on one of my vocal cords.
"This is incredibly frustrating as I have been so careful with my vocal health and this year so far has been the best of my career. I've been advised to be on vocal restriction and to not sing for the next 14 days.
"If I were to play at these next shows I would risk causing lasting damage to my vocal cords. This means I cannot perform at the upcoming Rock Werchter, Down The Rabbit Hole, NOS Alive, and Montreux Jazz Festivals. (sic)"
Sam apologised to his fans for the situation, admitting that he hates "letting people down".
The Play God hitmaker - who recently performed a series of shows at St James' Park in Newcastle - continued: "I'm so sorry to everybody who is coming to those festivals with our show in mind. Our fans are the most important thing to us, I hate letting people down and I hate not being able to sing for weeks as it is my only real passion in life.
"I hope that I'm able to make it up to you down the line, but until then I'm gonna work to get this voice fixed. Love from me and the band."

'It's the principle': Sunrise weatherman Sam 'Mac' McMillan calls out 'sparkling scam'' hitting diners across the country amid cost-of-living crisis

Sunrise weatherman Sam 'Mac' McMillan has issued a warning to Aussie about what he's calling the "sparkling scam". The 42-year-old Channel Seven favourite took to social media on Tuesday to share his outrage after being hit with a $12 bill for a one-litre bottle of San Pellegrino at a restaurant, all because he said "sparkling" when asked what water he wanted. "I said sparkling," Mac wrote in text over his video, filmed from the table. "And suddenly I was the next victim of the #SparklingScam." In the clip, the father-of-two shook his head in mock disbelief before turning the camera to the high-end bottle sitting on the table. "Not today bro!" he declared, before knocking back several glasses. "I will drink that one litre of sparkling water whether my bladder likes it or not." "It's the PRINCIPLE!" he added. "They are fully aware it's available in 250ml bottles." While McMillan didn't name the restaurant, he did post a photo of the receipt showing the bottle cost $12.00, sparking a flood of comments from followers who felt his pain. "This might be a little niche… but is anyone else onto the #SparklingScam," he captioned the post, which was reshared to his Instagram Stories. Fans were quick to back him up. "I'm with you on that, Sam! Let's spread the word!" one user wrote, while another added: "Biggest rip-off ever- should be free whether it has bubbles or not as most can just put it through an aerator." Famous friends joined in too, with The Cockroaches frontman and former Wiggles manager Paul Field dropping two laughing emojis, while Dancing with the Stars champ Aric Yegudkin admitted: "Hahaha I get done every time too." Still, not everyone agreed, with one follower leaping to the defence of the sparkling offender: "It's San Pellegrino, Sam! It's the Moet of Italian water! You should be smiling and grateful, it's delicious!" Another user pointed out that the Sydney-based weatherman's dilemma seemed like a "big city" problem. "Where was this? There's a bit of big city energy about that," they wrote. McMillan, known for his humour both on and off air, has been easing back into the swing of things after returning from "Dad leave" following the birth of his second daughter. In a recent reel, the self described "TV Weather Boi" documented his whirlwind week covering more than 6000 kilometres across Auckland, Waiheke Island, Brisbane, K'gari (Fraser Island), Caloundra and Sydney, all while tackling "the big topics". "Do you put the cream on first or the jam on first?" he asked a chef while filming a segment involving a tray of fresh scones. "It can divide a nation."

Husband jealous after wife says another man is attractive

Six couples have been stranded on an island for a week now, with most husbands and wives taking their relationship to the next level. Troubled couple Amy and Mike have made a milestone by deciding to start each day with a hug to help build their romance. Emily and Tom are in a good spot since he made the bombshell announcement of having another girl on the outside (which turned out to be fake) at last week's Couples Cove. Em said she gets 'warm fuzzies' when kissing him and hopes to unlock the next level of their relationship. Another crate arrives at all six islands, which includes a challenge from the outside world to help push the marriages forward. This episode's crate is extra special as it contains lollies and popcorn — hello movie date! However, Amy is soon disappointed to learn that instead of watching her favourite movie, The Holiday, the couples will be looking back at their first meeting at the speed dating event weeks ago. The one person who had quite an adverse reaction to his partner meeting another woman at the event was Sam. It seems Sam is trying to hide his jealousy after Jess admitted to the cameras at the dating event that Emanuel is her ideal physical type, with snarky comments. But apparently he is 'not fazed or threatened' and 'seriously, does not care' about Jess' comments at the time. 'I didn't know you found someone else attractive,' he said. There's also awkward vibes over in Amy and Mike's camp when he discovers her preferred match was a man known as 'salmon jacket'. Mike takes it on the chin and Amy feels bad that he had to watch it. Queue the second Couples Cove — the perfect place for everyone to unpack their feelings and let the drama unfold over a barbecue. Brie and Byron. Credit: Supplied The couple everyone wants to catch up with is Emily and Tom, and Jess is nervous to see what happens when Sam sees Emanuel. During a massive girl chat, Emily reveals that the situation with Tom's girl on the outside was 'never actually anything' and he was 'self-sabotaging' because he didn't feel a romantic spark. While things have begun to get better between the pair, the other girls questioned his motives for being on the show. Meanwhile, over at the boys' group, Sam is maintaining that Jess picking Emanuel doesn't faze him, but makes a jab at Emanuel by saying, 'Dude, don't touch her.' When they all reunite at the lunch table, Jess hopes her partner doesn't overreact and create issues between them. But of course, things get explosive. Sam surprises everyone, including Jess, by saying their match is 'a need rather than a want'. 'I'm not physically there with her yet,' he tells everyone. Emanuel comes for Sam after accusing him of not letting Jess speak for herself at the table about their situation. Jess freezes at the table and doesn't say much while the confrontation is going on which leads to Sam saying her not going into battle for him is a 'dealbreaker'. In episode six, will we see Sam leave the experiment?

TikTok star arrested for $60k damage caused to F1 car

Popular British streamer and Tiktokker Angryginge found himself in hot water on the weekend after spending a night behind bars for allegedly causing $60,000 worth of damage to an F1 car. The online star, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, was at the British Grand Prix for the Silverstone Circuit when the seemingly harmless gag turned sour. Angryginge, along with two other streamers he was at the event with Chazza and SamHam, were arrested after allegedly causing more than $60,000 in criminal damage to a BWT Racing Point F1 Team Car, The Sun reports. The ordeal unfolded after Chazza sat in the car, and allegedly damaged it while trying to exit the pink display vehicle — leading to the three of them spending 15-hours in detention before being released without charges. 'On Friday, July 4, Northamptonshire Police received a report that a classic Formula 1 car on display at Silverstone Circuit during the British Grand Prix event had sustained several thousands of pounds worth of damage, which was alleged to have been caused by someone accessing the display stand and climbing into the vehicle,' A Northampton Police spokesperson told The Sun. 'Three men, aged 23, 25 and 27, were arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage to a vehicle and taken into police custody. The moment Chazza sat in the car when it was allegedly damaged. After their release, Angryginge took to TikTok, sharing a video outside the police station to his two million followers saying, 'Just got out the penn... 15 hours done, free ginge.' The 23-year-old then uploaded a 28 minute long YouTube video, showing their footage of the events leading up to the arrest and his explanation afterwards. 'We got arrested and then released because we did nothing wrong, no charge — nothing,' he said outside the station. 'This is mental... (security) accused us of criminal damage of £30,000 (AUD$62,496), we were streaming the whole thing and know full well we didn't damage nothing.' They continued to film themselves going about their day, but before they could attend a Red Bull event they had been invited to, security pulled them up and they were taken into custody for an overnight stay. 'It was a funny moment until the cell door shut, let me tell you I'm traumatised, genuinely traumatised,' the video creator said.
