Santa Rosa teacher arrested for lewd acts with underage student
(KRON) — A teacher in Santa Rosa was arrested on Thursday for lewd acts with a child, the Santa Rosa Police Department said. Santa Rosa PD received information that a male teacher at Cesar Chavez Language Academy in Santa Rosa was suspected of lewd acts with a student.
Santa Rosa PD Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Team detectives identified the teacher as 34-year-old Gino Beccaria of Santa Rosa. Following a preliminary investigation, police said detectives were able to obtain enough information to believe the suspect had committed the crimes he was suspected of.

At 9 p.m. Thursday, a uniformed Santa Rosa PD officer stopped Beccaria in his vehicle near Rohnert Park Expressway and State Farm Drive. He was arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail on the following charges:
Lewd acts with a minor
Contact with a minor with the intent to commit lewd acts
Arrange a meeting with a minor with the intent to commit lewd acts
Due to the age of the victim and the traumatizing nature of the incident, police are not releasing the student's name, age or grade. Despite an arrest being made, police say the investigation remains ongoing.

‘We just want to know that she's safe' — Mother of missing West Jordan teen speaks out
WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC4) — The mother of the has spoken out about her worries about her daughter's disappearance. Sophia Rojas, 15, was last seen on June 3, and she has had no contact with her friends or family since, according to West Jordan police. She was last seen wearing a grey suit and pants. Police believe that she may be with an adult, and she may be lying about her age. 'She took off in the middle of the night, and I haven't heard from her or seen her since,' she said. Chavez told that Sophia left a note, but that the first sentence of the note didn't sound like her. The note said, 'Don't jump into getting the police involved.' The rest of the note said that she had a place to stay, not to worry about her, and not to be mad, that she would be back eventually. Chavez believes that she is with an adult because she left in the middle of the night on a school night and none of her usual circle of friends have heard from her. Sophia also has a history of talking to adults online and lying about her age, Chavez said. Chavez took Sophia's phone away in February for that reason. 'I do feel like she's possibly been groomed. I think that she feels like it's not gonna happen to her, and that she'll be okay, and she has the teenager mindset of nothing's gonna happen to her and she knows everything and she's fine,' she said. Chavez told that she is able to see that Sophia has a different phone signed into her Google account, and Chavez does not know where that phone came from. She is able to see that it is logged in, but she cannot see its location. 'My concerns are that she's with an adult, who may be feeding things to her, and possibly, now that this is getting awareness and stuff, that they may not let her go if she wants to go home,' Chavez said. She also told that she feels like Sophia's case is not getting the attention it deserves because her daughter is not white. Chavez shared what she wants Sophia to hear from her. 'Come home,' she said. 'We just want to know that she's safe, and we want her back home safely.' Central Ohio mover claims Texas company stiffed him for work
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Some central Ohioans are raising the alarm about a Texas-based moving company, saying they didn't get paid for their work. Caddy Moving is based in Austin, Texas, but hires people all over the United States for moving jobs, including in Columbus. One man reached out to NBC4 Investigates after, he claims, the company did not pay him; NBC4 found dozens of complaints like his from central Ohio and beyond. The man who called NBC4 Investigates found a help-wanted ad on Craigslist looking to hire movers. He needed money for his kids. Multiple teenagers allegedly open fire at police officers near south Columbus park A long day of moving is hard enough, but what happened to this man, having to ask for his pay day after day, might be even harder. 'I don't think you should treat people that way,' Bruce Johnson, who did a job with Caddy Moving, said. Johnson got in touch with Caddy Moving. Texts show an understanding he was to be paid the day of the moving job, May 25, or at least within 24 hours. 'From my understanding that once the job was complete and they speak to the homeowners and then we'll be paid right after,' Johnson said. Final full moon of Spring, the 'Strawberry Moon,' glows over central Ohio Texts Johnson shared show he worked the job, moving someone into a home in Hilliard, but he did not get paid that day, like he was told. 'They keep saying we're going to pay you, and then I get a text at 1 in the morning saying, 'Hey, we sent you a pay,' then they didn't send the pay,' Johnson said. Then he got a text saying there was an issue with the payment system. 'Then I find their reviews,' Johnson said. NBC4 Investigates looked into Caddy Moving and found dozens of complaints just like Johnson's, across Google, the Better Business Bureau and Trust Pilot, a website that hosts reviews of businesses worldwide. Some read: 'Company is refusing to pay for labor,' 'This company does not pay what they're advertising on their website. After the work is complete and their customer is satisfied, they'll stop responding' and 'Promised that they'd pay me if I removed my Google review, and because I refused to remove it, they're still refusing to pay me.' 'We did have a couple of our systems actually get locked up on us and we worked through those with our guys. We actually launched a hotline for guys to reach out to.' Caddy Moving said that as a startup, it does not have everything figured out yet, but takes accountability for the payment issues. We asked about the reviews across the websites as well. 'As far as the Trustpilot, Yelp, we were not signed up on any of those platforms we don't monitor them so as you could imagine, those that have negative feedback to share they are going to go to those platforms, but we did not sign up on those platform,' Richards said. 'We don't have everything figured out. Of course. But no, we fully take accountability for having delays on payments.' Johnson reached out to them and to NBC4 Investigates and finally, two and a half weeks after the job, he was paid the money he was owed, but said he knows others are still waiting. 'I just want to be done with them,' Johnson said. 'I hope they get it together and stop treating people like that.' FBI searching for woman who allegedly assaulted officers outside immigration court in Concord
(KRON) — The Federal Bureau of Investigation's San Francisco Field Office is asking for the public's help in finding an assault suspect. The FBI is looking for a woman who assaulted federal officers on Tuesday outside of the immigration court building in Concord, the law enforcement agency announced Wednesday. The FBI believes the woman (pictured below) stole an FBI Special Agent's badge. She was wearing a black hoodie and a pink beanie at the time of the incident. No other information was provided about the woman. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the woman, along with the recovery of the stolen badge. ICE clashes with protestors in Concord, 4 arrested at immigration court Oakland business looted following anti-ICE protest Tuesday's protest outside the building resulted in four arrests, KRON4 reported. Video from the scene on Tuesday shows the woman wearing a pink beanie in an altercation outside of immigration court in Concord. In the video, she does not appear to be confronting a federal officer.
