Samsung Galaxy A17 5G in for review

GSM Arenaa day ago
The Samsung Galaxy A16 was hugely popular, and it's very likely that its successor will be as well. Judging by the Galaxy A17 5G's specs page interest in our database, we'd say it's a certainty.
The Galaxy A17 5G is now up for sale, though you may have trouble finding one on store shelves just yet. It costs €230 at the time of this article. It ships with a USB-C cable and nothing else, just like Samsung's entire Galaxy lineup.
There isn't a night and day difference between the A17 5G and the A16 5G. Upfront sits the same, on paper, a 6.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. However, the glass on top is Gorilla Glass Victus this year.
The triple camera system also sounds the same, but the main camera has a stabilized lens.
By the way, we have the Black model, which features a nice matte finish that reflects light interestingly. There's a white-accented edge on the camera island, too.
Finally, you get a 5nm Exynos 1330 SoC, which, depending on the chip you had in your regional Galaxy A16 5G, may be an upgrade or the same - some Galaxy A16 5G had this very same SoC, while others had the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6300.
Stay tuned for our review coming sometime next week!

The Motorola Razr+ (2024) is powerful, gorgeous, AND remarkably affordable at a $400 discount today

If you want a 2025 Motorola Razr device but aren't quite sure which one to choose and when, it might be smart to take a few minutes to consider a 2024 model instead. I'd specifically recommend you look at the Razr Plus (2024) while it's marked down by a hefty 400 bucks. This is a hot new Best Buy deal that's not currently matched by the likes of Amazon or Motorola's own official US e-store, and as far as I can tell by looking back at our records of Razr promotions from the past, no retailer has offered a bigger discount on this particular phone before. $400 off (40%) 5G, Unlocked, 256GB Storage, 12GB RAM, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Processor, 6.9-Inch Main Foldable LTPO AMOLED Display with 2640 x 1080 Pixel Resolution and 165Hz Refresh Rate Technology, 4-Inch Secondary LTPO AMOLED Screen with 1272 x 1080 Pixel Resolution and 165Hz Refresh Rate Support, 50 + 50MP Dual Rear-Facing Camera System, 32MP Front-Facing Camera, Android 14, 4,000mAh Battery with 45W Charging Capabilities, Midnight Blue and Spring Green Color Options Buy at BestBuy The only other time (that I'm aware of, at least) bargain hunters have been able to slash $400 off the $999.99 list price of an unlocked Motorola Razr+ (2024) was during Amazon's Prime Day festival last month, and the obvious difference is that you don't need to be a member of anything or jump through hoops of any sort to take advantage of this latest big money-saving opportunity. Now, is this (slowly) aging thing still among the best foldables money can buy? I strongly believe so, especially when you can buy it for as little as $599.99 with no strings attached. That's simply an unbeatable price for an undeniably good-looking clamshell with massive 6.9 and 4-inch screens in tow, as well as Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processing power, a decidedly hefty 4,000mAh battery equipped with blazing fast 45W charging technology, two 50MP cameras, and a killer combination of 256GB internal storage space and 12GB RAM. That's a huge primary display for such an affordable foldable. | Image Credit -- PhoneArena The Razr+ (2025) and Razr Ultra (2025) are naturally even more sophisticated and powerful... which is why they're also considerably costlier. Perhaps the most relevant comparison to make, meanwhile, is with Samsung's just-released... and just-discounted Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, which sports smaller displays, worse cameras, slower charging, less memory, and less storage at a higher price point than the Motorola Razr Plus (2024) . If that doesn't make it clear what heavyweight value champion you're dealing with here, then I don't know what will.

The manufacturing process shall start as early as this fall in Nevada.I'm not mentioning Trump here for no reason. The current White House administration has been pushing for domestic manufacturing, which got Apple to promise to spend billions and billions of dollars in the US , as we told you the other Chief executive Joe Weil, who previously worked at Apple, said the move is aimed at keeping the privacy-focused handset's price under $1,000 even with higher labor current model, built in Indonesia, sells for $989. Because of the wage difference between Indonesia and the USA, it's going to be one hell of a challenge keeping it at similar will start with US-based assembly and gradually work toward sourcing more components domestically. The company chose a former refurbishing firm that has expanded into assembly work, but Weil declined to identify the partner or disclose production numbers, investor names, or funding smartphones in the US remains rare because most of the supply chain is in Asia and labor costs are significantly higher in America. However, the White House has been pressuring technology companies, including Apple, to increase US production through tariffs and other hopes to control costs by producing steady, smaller batches instead of releasing a new model every year. The latest UP Phone, available for preorder and set to ship in late September, comes with one year of Unplugged's privacy suite – featuring tracker blocking, a VPN, and encrypted photo storage – before switching to a $12.99 monthly subscription. The updated model uses the same hardware as the 2024 version but adds a new interface, firewall dashboard, and improved camera UP Phone is built with privacy as its core focus, its creators underscore. Its firewall blocks connections to more than 225,000 known data-harvesting servers, while its custom UnpluggedOS (based on the Android Open Source Project) removes all Google services and their associated surveillance systems, yet still supports most Android-compatible apps.A no-logs VPN hides the user's IP address from websites and apps, and system-level sensor controls let users block microphone, camera, Bluetooth, and other hardware access. For browsing, the device comes preloaded with Brave, enabling private, AI-assisted research directly on the phone.

The Poco M7 Plus houses a massive 7,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 33W charging and 18W reverse charging. Poco's new M series phone features a 6.9-inch Full HD+ LCD that refreshes at 144Hz. It has 550 nits of peak brightness, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The display features a punch-hole cutout for the 8 MP front camera. The M7 Plus is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 SoC, paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage.
