"Spider-Man 4" Gets New Release Date

Yara Sameh
Sony has moved the release for Tom Holland's fourth 'Spider-Man' installment by one week, shifting it from July 24, 2026 to a new date of July 31, 2026.
The Marvel entry is now due for launch two weeks after Universal's July 17, 2026 release of 'The Odyssey,' Christopher Nolan's next movie which also stars Holland.
Along with giving Holland some breathing room from opening two prospective blockbusters within a week of one another, the adjustment also has key repercussions for exhibitor operations.
Before Sony's scheduling change, the next live-action 'Spider-Man' would have released just one week after 'The Odyssey.' That film continues Nolan's decades-long relationship with Imax, shooting with the company's powerful cameras and negotiating a dedicated theatrical window in its premium auditoriums. Presumably, Sony is also looking to release the new 'Spider-Man' to Imax and other premium large format screens, as it has with its previous Marvel Comics adaptations.
With this new 'Spider-Man' date, 'The Odyssey' now has two weeks of play without a wide release that would contend for Imax real estate. Such a pile-up occurred in July 2023, when Paramount's 'Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning' (né 'Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One') played Imax auditoriums for only a little more than a week before Universal and Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' took over venues.
It took a few years after the 2021 release of the multiverse-spanning 'Spider-Man: No Way Home,' but Sony finally added Holland's next outing as Peter Parker to its theatrical slate four months ago. Destin Daniel Cretton is directing.
The film is expected to begin production this summer, though no casting details have been announced beyond Holland.
It remains unclear if Zendaya, who has played love interest MJ in all three Holland entries, is returning for this fourth entry.
It is known, however, that Zendaya will appear in Nolan's 'The Odyssey,' starring alongside Holland.
The adaptation of Homer's time-proven ancient Greek epic poem began production just weeks ago, with Universal releasing a first look at Matt Damon in the lead role of Odysseus.
The film also stars Mia Goth, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong'o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal, and John Leguizamo.

Cruise jumped to his potential death while his parachute caught fire 16 times during the making of the latest entry in the Mission: Impossible franchise. Paramount marked the record with a new behind-the-scenes video of the wild aerial stunt. 'If this is twisted while it's burning, I'm going to be spinning and burnt. 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning' was billed as Cruise's final outing as Ethan Hunt, making the burning parachute jump his last stunt of the 29-year-old franchise. When asked in Cannes about his future with the hit franchise, Cruise remained coy about leaving 'Mission: Impossible' for good. Cruise wrote in a message to fans after the film's opening. 'Congratulations and thank you to every filmmaker, every artist, every crew member and every single person who works at the studios. To every theater and every employee who helps bring these stories to audiences, thank you.' 'To everyone that works at Paramount Pictures and Skydance, thank you for your many years of partnership and unwavering support,' he continued. 'And most of all, THANK YOU to audiences everywhere for whom we all serve and for whom we all LOVE to entertain. Sincerely, Tom.' "Ma" Sequel in Works with Octavia Spencer Returning

Yara Sameh A sequel to the 2019 revenge thriller "Ma" is in development at Blumhouse. Octavia Spencer is set to reprise her role as the eponymous killer, but plot details are still being kept under wraps. The project remains in early stages, with no director attached or release date set. The original film followed a group of high schoolers who find an unlikely, intergenerational friend in Sue Ann Ellington, a lonesome veterinarian and devoted party animal played by Spencer. The woman, affectionately called 'Ma,' allows the teens to party in her basement, but things get bloody once their relationship starts to sour. The first 'Ma' re-teamed Spencer with director Tate Taylor, who helmed the aactress'Oscar-winning performance in 'The Help.' Released by Universal in May 2019, the low-budget Blumhouse production was a box office winner, earning $61 million worldwide. But the film has grown an even stronger following in the years since, spawning various memes including parody posters and reaction images. Spencer even joined in on the fun in 2020, holding an online contest for the 'best Ma meme' and awarding numerous prizes. In 2024, she referenced the film in a short video posted by the Kamala Harris presidential campaign. In May, 'Ma' featured as one of the re-release selections for Blumhouse's Halfway to Halloween campaign. The pic, along with 'M3GAN' and 'Annabelle,' received a one-night-only engagement in theaters nationwide. The 'Ma' sequel was unveiled by Blumhouse at Atomic Monster and its first-ever Business of Horror event in Hollywood. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream

Emily Hampshire Cast as E.D.I.T.H. in "WandaVision" Spinoff "Vision"

Yara Sameh Marvel Studios' "WandaVision" spin-off series "Vision" has landed 'Schitt's Creek' star Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., the Stark Industries artificial intelligence introduced in 2019's 'Spider-Man: Far From Home.' Hampshire joins Paul Bettany, who is reprising his role as the now-reincarnated synthezoid character, the physical manifestation of another Stark Industries AI, Jarvis. In 'Far From Home,' E.D.I.T.H. is presented as a gift that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) bequeaths to Peter Parker (Tom Holland) after Stark sacrifices his life in 'Avengers: Endgame.' (The name stands for 'Even Dead, I'm The Hero.') Peter controls E.D.I.T.H. through a pair of high-tech sunglasses, which he unwittingly gives to the film's villain, Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), before retrieving them at the end of the movie. The glasses are confiscated after Peter's identity as Spider-Man is revealed to the world, and E.D.I.T.H.'s ultimate fate is left unresolved. It's unclear whether Hampshire is just lending her voice to the role or will be embodying it as well, but the character will be one of several AIs to populate the series. James Spader is reprising his role as Ultron, the villain from 2015's 'Avengers: Age of Ultron,' and T'Nia Miller ('The Diplomat') is playing Jocasta, another robotic character from the Marvel Comics. Other co-stars include Todd Stashwick ('Star Trek: Picard'), Ruaridh Mollica ('Ridley') and Faran Tahir, who is reprising the role of 'Iron Man' villain Raza. Terry Matalas ('Star Trek: Picard,' '12 Monkeys') is the executive producer and showrunner for the Vision series, which is set to debut in 2026. Best known for her standout role as Stevie Budd on 'Schitt's Creed,' Hampshire most recently starred on the Amazon series 'The Rig.' She'll next appear opposite Vince Vaughn and James Marsden in the action comedy 'Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice.' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream
