Jordan North fights back tears after being reunited with dog he rescued
Jordan North couldn't hide his emotion today when he was reunited with the adorable dog he bravely rescued last year. In December, the Capital FM host was having a quiet stroll along the river in West London when he noticed a chocolate-coloured Labrador floundering in the water.
Jumping into action - and the River Thames, Jordan carried the fabulously named Creed Lamar to safety, much to the relief of the dog's owner, Rodas. Today, the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! star was reunited with the pooch and his owner as he admitted he was "going to cry" when they surprised him in the studio.
Six months after the rescue, Rodas and Creed, were given the chance properly thank Jordan for his "big, selfless act" moment live on Capital Breakfast.
Sian Welby and Chris Stark surprised their colleague with a game of 'Pet or Partner' where listeners send in clues and the presenters have to guess whether they're describing a pet or a partner.
On Tuesday morning one of the clues was: "He likes to jump into the River Thames and be saved by Jordan North."
Desperately trying to clarify what was said as the line went dead, Jordan was stumped, but then in came Creed and Rodas as the presenter sid: "That's Creed, I'm going to cry."
Recalling the eventful night last year in which she almost lost Creed, Rodas said: "Me and my mum actually take Creed out to the park and tire him out, and off the lead we walk through the riverside and we were walking at night and the barrier tends to go lower and we didn't realise that and I think he saw a duck or something and he just jumped in!
"I was about to jump in myself, but people were telling me about the currents and the waters and obviously my mum was not going to let me do that, so I'm really thankful to Jordan for jumping the gate."
Jordan explained the Creed, who was still a puppy when Jordan rescued him was "really struggling" in the icy water. He said: "When I climbed in, the current was taking him, you could tell he was struggling, he was really struggling wasn't he and I tried to grab him and he fell back in, I was like 'oh no!'"
The radio DJ stepped onto a pontoon on the water, but once he had rescued the dog he got stuck on a beam, which prompted a member of the public to raise the alarm.
Luckily for Jordan, the RNLI crew were out on a training exercise near Hammersmith Bridge, so they arrived at the scene within three minutes. The crew found Jordan sat on a float life with the dog, as people gathered on the riverbank to shine their phone torches at the I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star so the RNLI team could locate him in the dark.
Rodas had no idea that it was Jordan who rescued her dog and went straight back to university in Nottingham after the rescue.
Explaining that it was only when the story was published in the Press, she put two and two together, she said: "I didn't ]realise] at all, it was exam season at the time, and I was just focused in the library 24/7.
"My mum's not on social media she was the one taking care of him. One day my brother was on his bus to school and his friend has his phone out talking about a story of a dog getting saved from the Thames and he was like 'that's Creed!'"

Danny Jones' emotional chat with wife Georgia as he opens up on 'hurt and trauma'
McFly star and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2024 winner Danny Jones married his wife Georgia in 2014, and together they have son Cooper McFly star Danny Jones returns to screens tonight in a re-run of Michael McIntyre 's The Wheel, just days after his wife Georgia posted their first photo together in four months. This snap was shared after he had an alleged kiss with his former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! co-star Maura Higgins at The Brit Awards earlier this year. In the picture, Danny and Georgia are seen beaming, as they posed alongside 15 of her relatives for a family photo. The picture appears to quash any doubts about their 11-year marriage, as they continue to remain together. Just weeks prior to the controversy, the 39-year-old musician gave his most candid interview to date, on the High Performance podcast. In the lengthy discussion, he opened up about his battles with anxiety and his decision to seek professional help, after his father Alan left during his teenage years. The King of the Jungle met his first therapist at the age of 18, around the time McFly were first making waves in the music industry. Having realised the positive impact therapy had on his mental health, he has pursued his path to healing ever since. Quizzed about his wife's reaction to his personal struggles, he admitted she had her reservations at first, but these changed once he explained his need for it. "It's just little steps over the years that you do and I think it's the same with healing and the same with dealing. I was obviously hurt by something and traumatised and needed rebalancing, or reprogramming should I say," he shared. "You know, it's great talking to friends, it's great talking to your loved ones, because my wife didn't understand why I had to go at first. "She's like, 'Why don't you talk to me? Why can't I help you?' But I needed that one professional, actually many professionals over my time, just to reprogram me and podcasts helped me massively." Danny said he found particular solace in listening to Mel Robbins, famed for her TEDx talk How to Stop Screwing Yourself Over, and business owners who shared his sentiments. "I just related to these people over the years of listening to podcasts and I found it so helpful," he revealed. "That's when I went to my wife and I was like, 'I think I need to go back to therapy', because I had that Ashley guy (one of his therapists) when I was 18, but then I feel like I needed it again. "And I felt like how many times can my wife hear me talk about this? And I didn't want it to get too much for her." While he is now in an improved mental and emotional state thanks to therapy, Danny said he still occasionally grapples with understanding his feelings. Reflecting on his stint in last year's I'm A Me Out Of Here!, he added: "There's definitely things that I've learned in the jungle, that I need to just talk about, [such as] understanding myself, and understanding my emotions. I still don't do that, because I think understanding my emotions will help me to communicate better. I just need to work on that." Michael McIntyre's The Wheel airs tonight at 7.05pm on BBC One.

Anthony Worrall Thompson says it's 'time to move on' from 'irrelevant' MasterChef scandal
Celebrity chef and I'm A Celebrity alumni Anthony Worrall Thompson has said it's time for "the youngsters" to make their way on to MasterChef, slamming the uproar over its co-hosts as 'irrelevant' Celebrity chef Anthony Worrall Thompson has said cookery show MasterChef needs to "move on" from former hosts John Torode and Gregg Wallace. The 74-year-old, who has appeared on the programme over the years - as well as plenty of other cookery shows - claims it's time for "the youngsters" to take their place. The two long-standing hosts of MasterChef have both left the show over the last year, with both Wallace and Torode accused of behaving inappropriately over the course of their career. Wallace was axed from MasterChef after an independent investigation upheld 45 of 83 complaints against him, made by 41 individuals. One upheld allegation goes back 15 years and involves Wallace touching a woman at a party. He admits to putting his hand on her bottom, but maintains that he thought the moment was consensual. According to him, the woman had shared personal details about herself and shared her phone number with him. He says he saw this as a sign of mutual interest. But now Anthony, who appeared on the second series of ITV's I'm A Celebrity in 2003, says the row is "irrelevant". Speaking to Kait Borsay on Times Radio, he said: "These commissioning editors would have made their minds up months ago about what programs they were going to commission. "So I think the Gregg Wallace thing is irrelevant. It's a shame for MasterChef, you know, John Torode, Gregg Wallace. "They were sort of part of the sort of furniture if you want, but it's time to move on, you know, we all have to let the youngsters come through. Unfortunately, the commissioners don't seem to be able to find the youngsters to replace us." When asked about chef's egos in the TV industry, he admitted that TV runners should be treated with respect. Anthony explained: "We all try and keep it down, or some of us do anyway. I mean, I've always worked with a great team of producers, great team of directors, you know, that the TV crew were fantastic. "And the ones you have to look after on TV shows are the runners, you know, the people who are doing the cooking in the back, you know, making sure everything's nice and perfect. If you abuse those people, you know, you're going to suffer down the line, you know, because those runners one day will be directors and they will have long memories." Wallace, 60, insists that, even in the official report, it was acknowledged that he viewed the interaction as consensual. Another upheld allegations relates to an incident from 18 years ago, when Wallace briefly emerged from his dressing room wearing only a sock over his genitals, an incident he says was a joke. Meanwhile, his former co-star Torode, who hosted MasterChef for nearly 20 years, admitted recently that he was alleged to have used racist language after an investigation into Wallace. Torode claimed he did not recall making the comment and denies it ever happened, insisting he is taking legal action. Earlier this month, the BBC confirmed Torode's contract will not be renewed, saying: "The BBC takes this upheld finding extremely seriously. We will not tolerate racist language of any kind and, as we have already said, we told Banijay UK, the makers of MasterChef, that action must be taken. John Torode's contract on MasterChef will not be renewed.'

James Haskell almost bares all as he shows off weight loss in very revealing snap
Former rugby union star James Haskell split from his wife of five years, Chloe Madeley in 2024, but it looks like he has been working on his revenge body in recent months Former rugby union star James Haskell has shown off his weight loss transformation by leaving very little to the imagination in a daring towel snap. Fans had noticed the 40-year-old he was looking like he'd slimmed down in photos from a tennis event earlier this month. James, who split up with his wife of five years Chloe Madeley last year, wore a tight-fitting t-shirt to the event, held at 601 Queen's Road in London, for Lady Wimbledon's Rooftop Tennis Party. But the I'm A Celebrity star has gone one step further this morning, sharing a photo of himself naked in a hotel room. Dad-of-one James was completely in the nude, except for a necklace and a tiny portion of a white towel, which he held over his crotch to make the photo just about SFW. He smiled into the camera has he strategically placed the towel at his front but didn't caption the photo. His other Story posts saw him DJing at an event and watching the rugby. James' weight has yo-yoed over the years. From his muscular rugby days, to his leaner physique when he left the I'm A Celebrity jungle, to his current toned-up body now. The sports star, who became a tech-house DJ in recent years, has spoken openly about his changing body. After leaving his rugby career behind, having spent most of his years with the London Wasps, he announced he was retiring in 2019. He joined the I'm A Celebrity cast the same year, and his diet drastically changed from gorging on 4,000 calories a day, to eating the measly in-camp meals of rice and beans. Dropping to around 700 calories a day, James looked visibly slimmed down when he left the jungle - but admitted later his 10kg loss was mostly muscle mass, telling the presenters Joel Dommett and Emily Atack he was "wasting away." He told Extra Camp while he was on the ITV reality show: "I never thought I would look at a menu and chose crocodile feet. We're still only getting 700 calories per day. "We're slowly wasting away, but wasting away with dignity!" Speaking about the campmates' attempts to spruce up their meals, he added: "We're literally scraping the barrel of discovering different ways of cooking rice and beans and trying to add some flavour." Just after leaving the jungle, the UK was plunged into lockdown amid the Covid pandemic, causing him to lose another 19lbs thanks to a strict diet. He shared some comparison photos of his body on Instagram, writing: "I got bored in lockdown 2 and saw how big I could get... 130kgs. "Lockdown 3 I have gone the other way. I'm 8 weeks in and have gone from 122kgs to 113kgs." He added that he had been training remotely with a PT, adding: "The idea is to get leaner now and then build back up slowly over the coming week. It's been really fun to have a goal and stick to it. It gives you purpose, routine and discipline. All things we strive on as humans." Haskell split up with his wife of five years Chloe Madelely in 2024, with the former couple still co-parenting their two-year-old Bodhi, who turns three in August. Recently, James has admitted that he was to blame for the end of his relationship with Chloe, who is the daughter of former This Morning hosts Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan. He revealed to the Mail: "If I put more time into my marriage than I did Guinness, then I wouldn't be divorced now. It's one of those things in life where some things don't work out, but I have so much love for my daughter and Chloe. It's teamwork. 'What we all forget is when you have children and a marriage finishes, it's all about the kids. Chloe and I are amazing co-parents. Our priority is always Bodhi."
