Top female contenders to front revamped Millionaire Hot Seat revealed as multiple sources say the next host will be a woman after Eddie McGuire

Ever since it was revealed that long-running show would be getting a revamp, the question on everybody's lips has been: who will be the host? The popular series, formerly fronted by Eddie McGuire, originally aired on Nine before getting the axe in 2024 after 25,000 episodes. Now, under the Channel 10 helm, the series is said to be eyeing up a woman for the hosting gig. A report in the Herald Sun said network rumours have been 'bubbling for months' and plans are well underway to snare a female for the prized role. According to Woman's Day, that female may just be Amanda Keller. Best known for her time hosting Aussie lifestyle program The Living Room, Amanda's name is said to be making the rounds for the much-coveted role, according to a well-placed TV source. The opportunity couldn't come at a better time for the 63-year-old, after her Gold FM breakfast gig alongside Brendan 'Jonesy' Jones was moved to the drive time slot, thus freeing up her work calendar. However, she's not the only one being eyed up for the role. New Idea claims that Tracy Grimshaw, 65, and Carrie Bickmore, 44, are also big contenders. 'Tracy relished her chance to get away from current affairs as co-host of Do You Want To Live Forever? and she's calm under pressure,' the insider told the publication. 'But if [Ten] looks closer to home, they may go with Carrie [Bickmore],' they added. Leigh Sales, 52, and Sandra Sully, 60, have also both been mentioned. 'Someone who could be looking to spread their wings is Leigh [Sales],' the source said, adding that her 'steely gaze' would be perfect for the game show format. The insider added that Sandra was a familiar face to Network 10 viewers, and that while she may seem like a 'serious' choice, she's known to have a 'fun side'. The long-running Eddie McGuire-hosted quiz show Millionaire Hot Set is headed for a reboot at Channel 10 At the beginning of August, producers of the quiz show reboot announced a casting call with entries closing on 15 September. Curio Pictures - the makers of Shark Tank and the streaming drama The Artful Dodger - announced to hopefuls that the show will begin filming next month in Melbourne. 'Come and show off your smarts for the chance to win big,' the call for entries announced on the producer's website. 'We're casting energetic, confident trivia lovers from all walks of trivia obsession could be your ticket to serious cash – if you've got what it takes!' Channel Ten has not confirmed when the quiz reboot will air.

Karl Stefanovic's shock family move as Today show host considers leaving Sydney

Today show host Karl Stefanovic and his wife Jasmine are reportedly considering a move to Queensland. The Channel Nine presenter, 51, is eventually planning to leave Sydney and relocate to the Sunshine State where he grew up. 'He's told friends that his ultimate dream is to move north eventually permanently,' a source told New Idea. The insider said Karl recently signed a $3million a year contract with Nine so he 'can't walk away from Today and nor does he want to'. But he is considering some flexibility and 'could be splitting his time between Sydney and Brisbane.' 'Karl turned 51 earlier this month and he's getting to the stage in life where he is considering his future,' the source added. 'And he also doesn't want to be working as hard as he currently is for too much longer.' Karl and Jasmine often spend the summer holidays in Queensland with their five-year-old Harper. The couple own a five-bedroom, five-bathroom holiday house, dubbed Villa Isabelle, in Noosa. Last year, the pair listed the Sunshine Beach villa for rent for an eye-watering $1000 per night. The amazing spread, which they bought in 2020 for a reported $3.6million sits on a cliff overlooking the popular shoreline in southeast Queensland. Spread over three levels, the home boasts outdoor entertaining decks, a BBQ area, private balconies and an undercover garage. It comes after reports claimed Karl is poised to cash in on a contract of approximately $3million per year, according to The Australian. 'Nine sources tell us the network's top brass have just finished passing a hat around at their Denison St headquarters in North Sydney and have managed to scrape together enough loose change to offer him a contract worth about $3million a year,' the paper's Media Diary wrote. Currently on a $2.8million a year contract, Karl is rumoured to see a significant increase in his pay as he continues to front the second-rating breakfast show. According to the publication, Nine is said to have given in to the TV presenter's demands after he threatened to walk away if they were to lowball on a new contract. Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Channel 9 for comment.
