First 2025 Lunar Eclipse Coincides with Ramadan, Not Visible in Gulf
Al Asfoor explained that the eclipse will be fully visible across vast regions, including North America, Central America, western South America, and parts of Antarctica. The celestial event will unfold in phases, starting with the penumbral eclipse, followed by the partial eclipse, and culminating in a total eclipse, during which the moon will take on a deep red hue before gradually exiting the eclipse zone.
Observers in parts of Western Europe, Africa, and eastern South America may catch a glimpse of the eclipse's early stages before moonset, while those in East Asia and eastern Oceania will see the moon rising while still eclipsed. However, residents of the Gulf region will not be able to witness the event, as it will occur during daylight hours. The moon is expected to reach full illumination at 9:54 AM local time in Bahrain on Friday, March 14, 2025.

He added that the phenomenon can be safely observed with the naked eye, offering a perfect opportunity for photography enthusiasts and astronomy lovers to capture the striking view.
