Colts NFL draft: Every player drafted at 14th overall in last 10 years The Colts hold the 14th overall pick in this year's NFL draft. Here is a look back at the last 10 selections at that draft slot.
The Indianapolis Colts will enter the 2025 NFL draft with seven selections in total, including the 14th overall pick in the first round.
Of course, previous picks at 14th overall by other teams have no bearing on who the Colts pick or how that selection turns out. But it is interesting to see the caliber of players that have come from this specific spot in the NFL draft in recent years.
As it pertains to the Colts, tight end, as we know, is a major need, but the offensive line and the defensive line are two other position groups that could be on GM Chris Ballard's radar--not to mention that adding to linebacker should be on the to-do list as well, although I don't know that ends up as a first round priority for Indianapolis.
Here are the last 10 selections to be taken at 14th overall in the NFL draft.
2024: New Orleans Saints, T - Taliese Fuaga, Oregon State
As a rookie, Fuaga started all 17 regular-season games at left tackle for the Saints.
2023: Pittsburgh Steelers, T – Broderick Jones, Georgia
Jones has started 27 out of 34 regular season games in his two NFL seasons, which includes 16 games this past year.
2022: Baltimore Ravens, S – Kyle Hamilton, Notre Dame
The do-it-all safety has missed just three games in his first three seasons and is a two-time Pro Bowler and a one-time All-Pro.
2021: New York Jets, G – Alijah Vera-Tucker, Southern California
Vera-Tucker has been a versatile member of the Jets' offensive line, playing multiple positions. Unfortunately, injuries have been a part of his career, with Vera-Tucker appearing in only 12 games between 2022 and 2023. However, he did make 15 starts last season.
2020: San Francisco 49ers, DT – Javon Kinlaw, South Carolina
After spending his first four seasons with the 49ers, Kinlaw joined the Jets in 2024. He's appeared in all 34 games the last two seasons and has 9.5 career sacks and 12 tackles for loss.
2019: Atlanta Falcons, G – Chris Lindstrom, Boston College
Lindstrom has been a three-time Pro Bowler in his NFL career. Since 2020, Lindstrom has missed only one game.
2018: New Orleans Saints, DE – Marcus Davenport, UTSA
After spending his first five seasons with the Saints, Davenport was in Minnesota in 2023 and Detroit in 2024, appearing in just six total games during that span. Davenport has 24 career sacks over seven seasons and 27 tackles for loss.
2017: Philadelphia Eagles, DE – Derek Barnett, Tennessee
Barnett has missed time over his career. In four seasons, he's played fewer than eight games. He did, however, appear in 16 games with Houston last season and has won a Super Bowl with Philadelphia. Barnett has 29 career sacks and 49 tackles for loss.
2016: Las Vegas Raiders, DB – Karl Joseph, West Virginia
After four seasons with the Raiders, Joseph played in 14 games in 2020 with Cleveland and then appeared in two games with Pittsburgh in 2021, which was the last time he saw regular-season snaps. Joseph finished his career with 20 pass breakups, five interceptions, and 305 tackles.
2015: Miami Dolphins, WR – DeVante Parker, Louisville
Parker spent seven seasons with Miami and then the 2022 and 2023 seasons with New England. Parker averaged 14.1 yards per catch over his career, catching 59% of his targets, with 27 touchdowns.

Texas Attracting Relatives of NFL and NBA Stars is Raising Eyebrows Across College Football

Texas Attracting Relatives of NFL and NBA Stars is Raising Eyebrows Across College Football originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Whether fans are ready or not, the next wave of athletes has a high chance of making one feel old. Advertisement The athletes that many of us grew up watching now have children set to hit the college or professional ranks. While these players are scattered throughout the country, there seems to be a hotbed forming in Austin, Texas, at the most important position in football. Following the departure of Quinn Ewers, who was drafted in the seventh round with the 231st overall pick by the Miami Dolphins, the Longhorns will turn to former five-star and No. 1 recruit in the 2023 class, Arch Manning. Although he has two starts under his belt, fans have long been clamoring for the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning to take over. While the Manning name has plenty of notoriety, the Texas quarterback room has a chance to be headlined by the son of a former pro athlete for years to come. The Longhorns hold a commitment from 2026 five-star Dia Bell, the son of former Phoenix Suns star and two-time All-NBA Defensive Team selection, Raja Bell. They are also in the mix for a 2027 four-star Gunner Rivers, who is the son of eight-time Pro Bowl quarterback, Philip Rivers. Advertisement With Steve Sarkisian and Texas having a chance to obtain so much potential star power with famous relatives, fans online are taking notice. "Which would be indicative of NFL QBs believing in Sark's QB development," pointed out one fan. "That'd be insane," said another. "I sense a pattern there 🤔," suspected a third. Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning takes the field before his team's College Football Playoff game against the Clemson Tigers at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Dec. 21, Miron-Imagn Images As it stands, Rivers doesn't hold an offer from the Longhorns, but the No. 1 player in Alabama did recently attend a camp. "My first time here, it went well, enjoyed, and good talking to all the coaches," Gunner Rivers told On3 about his Longhorns visit. "I had a great time." This past season for St. Michael Catholic, he threw for 3,927 yards and 36 touchdowns, leading his team to the semifinals of Alabama's 4A playoffs. As for Bell, he threw for 2,597 yards with 29 touchdowns while leading American Heritage to a 9-2 record before he suffered a season-ending injury in the playoffs. Advertisement While there's a chance this quarterback succession of relatives of former pros doesn't happen, Texas is clearly on track to attract the biggest names for years to come. How Georgia Teammates Continue To Reach New Heights With Eagles

How Georgia Teammates Continue To Reach New Heights With Eagles originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman had a plan to rebuild his once-struggling defense. Instead of signing top-priced free agent talent, he chose to target defensive players from one of the greatest football schools in the country. … Advertisement The two-time National Champion Georgia Bulldogs. In the last five seasons, Philadelphia has taken Georgia players in almost every draft. Top guys like Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Nolan Smith, Kelee Ringo, Nakobe Dean, and Smael Mondon Jr. have all been brought here to build the kind of championship mentality they developed in college. After their first Super Bowl together in February, those same Bulldogs are looking for further excellence as well. And the clearest example came from Jordan Davis during voluntary workouts. The former first-round defensive tackle explained how he was learning how to be a better pass rusher thanks to teammate Nolan Smith. Advertisement '(Nolan) Smith has been teaching me things. When it's just stuff like that, learning stuff from different players and coaches, they want you to be your best at pass rush," Davis said. "They want you. They expect that from you." Smith, in his own right, has spoken out about how important players like Davis and Carter have been to his own production. It is clear that the former Bulldogs are all looking out for each other. That has helped the Eagles reach new heights on defense. And the entire group seems to be ready to achieve a new level as defending Super Bowl champions as well. "David Wright. Just a huge congratulations. You are one of the premier power hitters in the game. You easily passed me. Set Straw (Darryl Strawberry) in your sights and now go get him. Congratulations my man." Wright, who was nicknamed "Captain America," played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball, all of them coming with the Mets. He was voted to the All-Star game seven times and won two Silver Slugger awards while going over 100 runs batted in for a season five times. Advertisement Alonso, 30, has been an All-Star in each of the previous three seasons and four times overall.
