The row between Barcelona and Marc-Andre ter Stegen explained

Independent2 days ago
Barcelona has stripped goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen of the club captaincy due to a deepening rift.
The club sought to classify Ter Stegen as a long-term injury to comply with La Liga 's Financial Fair Play rules and free up salary space.
This classification would have allowed Barcelona to clear 80 per cent of his wages from their registration to make space in their wage bill for Garcia and Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford.
Ter Stegen's public announcement of a three-month recovery period contradicted La Liga rules, which require a minimum of four months for long-term injury status.
Ronald Araujo, the current vice-captain, will temporarily assume the duties of first-team captain.

'We have to learn to see out games'

Derby boss John Eustace said he expects his side to get stronger and keep growing after defeat to Stoke City on the opening the 3-1 loss to the Potters, Eustace told BBC Radio Derby: "We limited Stoke to very little today. I was proud of the effort of the group, the attitude was fantastic but we have to learn to see out these games."I expected us to be better when we went 1-0 and control the game, we dropped a little bit too deep for their equaliser."I know this group very well, and we have seven or eight players to come in and help the quality even more."Over the course of the 46 games we are going to improve, keep growing, and get better. That is what we will take from today."
