Bihar Voter List Revision 2025: Final Day to Submit Forms, Check Your Name Now

Bihar is undergoing its first major voter list revision in over two decades, and today—July 25—is the final day for voters to submit their forms as part of the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR). This large-scale clean-up aims to verify who remains eligible to vote and remove outdated or duplicate entries. With over 7.89 crore registered voters in the state, the scale of this effort is unprecedented. As of July 24, nearly 15 lakh forms were still pending, 20 lakh voters were found deceased, 28 lakh had permanently moved away, and 7 lakh were registered in more than one location. About 1 lakh couldn't be traced at all. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have visited homes with pre-filled forms for verification. Those unavailable could also submit via WhatsApp or online. However, missing today's deadline means your name might not be on the draft list published August 1—and if you're not on the list, you can't vote. The revision has sparked controversy, with opposition parties warning that legitimate voters—especially migrants, the poor, or those without formal documents—may be excluded. Aadhaar, though widely used, is not accepted as sole proof of eligibility. From August 1 to September 1, voters can file claims or objections before the final list is released ahead of Bihar's Assembly elections. This process is not just about cleaning up the list—it's about ensuring a transparent and fair electoral system. But as the deadline hits, the question remains: will it include everyone it should?
