Jewelry Brand Vickisarge Gets the Val Garland Makeover
— All that glitters isn't gold — it's Val Garland. The makeup artist, renowned for her glitzy looks, has turned her high-shine eye to jewelry brand Vickisarge for their upcoming capsule collection, which will be released on June 13.
'If it is shiny and sparkly, it makes me feel good. I always want to wear things that make me feel good,' Garland said. 'I want people to feel like individuals when they wear these pieces. Happy and inspired.'

The 16-piece collection is a cabinet of curiosities, featuring eclectic necklaces, earrings and rings plated in 23-karat gold and hand-tinted crystals. The capsule's prices range from $513 to $167, and will be available to purchase at the Vickisarge boutique and online at vickisarge.com.
Pieces embody Garland's sense of lightheartedness, down to their name. Take the FestiVAL charm necklace, two edgy chains dotted with spider, hand and duck charms. Or, the ArchiVAL Mismatched earrings, with one earring featuring a spider climbing a cross and the other a jeweled hand.
Vickisarge and Garland are longtime collaborators, who previously worked together on projects with Alexander McQueen and Lady Gaga. The brand's creative director, Louis Circe, described the partnership as a salute to their creative relationship.
'Celebrating a longstanding relationship with Val and this beautiful collaborative collection feels like the perfect way to illustrate her creative vision, and the brand's quintessential style and heritage,' Circe said.
Vicki Sarge founded her eponymous jewelry line in 2013, after parting ways with Erickson Beamon, the jewelry brand she founded with Karen and Erick Erickson in the '80s. Her brand has become famous for its ornate statement jewelry and dramatic runway pieces for Savage x Fenty, Erdem and more.

'People didn't even have a stylist. I think a lot of people bought a dress to go to the Globes, or maybe their costume designer did it,' she said. 'Celebrities and designers form alliances in a way they didn't used to. They might have met and become friends in the past, but now people align themselves with brands and then also become brand ambassadors or faces of campaigns,' Young said. 'Now, brands are so good at identifying talent they're interested in very early.' Spoleto Festival USA names new music director of the festival chorus
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD)—Spoleto Festival USA has appointed a new music director for the festival chorus. Starting in 2026, Dr. Amanda Quist will bring her knowledge to the position of directing the chorus. Dr. Quist is an associate professor and director of choral activities at Western Michigan University. She possesses a Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting and a Doctoral Cognate in Voice Pedagogy and Science from the University of North Texas. 'We are incredibly excited to welcome Amanda Quist to the Spoleto Festival USA family,' said Spoleto Festival USA General Director and CEO Dr. Mena Mark Hanna. 'Her profound musicality, innovative programming ideas, and commitment to nurturing the next generation of professional singers align perfectly with the Festival's artistic mission. Amanda will build upon Joe Miller's legacy at Spoleto and continue to lead the Festival Chorus to new heights of artistry and excellence.' Dr. Quist was selected for the role after the departure of Dr. Joe Miller, who led in the role for 19 years. 'I am honored and incredibly excited to join Spoleto Festival USA,' said Dr. Quist.
