
Korean actor Song Young-kyu passes away after drunk driving scandal
Actor Song Young-kyu, who recently faced public backlash over a drunk driving charge, has passed away unexpectedly.
According to MBN, the Korean actor was found lifeless inside a vehicle in Cheoin District, Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, around 8 a.m. He was discovered by an acquaintance, who immediately alerted authorities. Police reported no signs of foul play and stated that no note was found at the scene. Authorities responded to a report and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
On June 19, Song was caught driving under the influence for approximately 5 kilometers in Giheung District, Yongin. A witness report led police to the scene, where his blood alcohol concentration was measured at over 0.08%, a level warranting license revocation.
The incident was revealed a month later, resulting in Song stepping down from the dramas Tri and The Defects, as well as the stage play Shakespeare in Love. His sudden passing, without a public apology or statement, has left many with mixed emotions and a sense of unresolved sorrow.
His wife and two daughters survive him. The funeral service will be held at 8 a.m. on the Aug. 6, and his final resting place will be Hambeoksan Memorial Park.

Lee Min of As One passes away
Lee Min, South Korean singer and one half of the musical duo As One, has passed away. A representative from her agency BrandNew Music confirmed her death to Korean newspaper Hankook Ilbo. "The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances. The company is also still trying to understand the situation," the representative said, according to The Korea Herald. Soompi added that a BrandNew Music rep told them that Lee's husband discovered her when he returned home. "We ask that people refrain from excessive speculation until the results are released." She debuted in 1999 as part of As One, and released songs like 'Desire And Hope' and 'Day By Day.' DAY6 announces 'The DECADE' world tour; to visit PH in January 2026

DAY6 surprised fans worldwide on Tuesday, August 5, after announcing their newest world tour called THE DECADE, which is part of their 10th anniversary debut. The band will kick off its tour on August 30 and 31, 2025, at the Goyang Stadium in Goyang, South Korea. They will then visit parts of Asia, including the Philippines, on January 24, 2026, and will perform on the stage of the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Aside from the Philippines, DAY6's The DECADE tour dates and locations are the Impact Arena in Bangkok on September 27, SECC Hall B2 in Ho Chi Minh on October 18, AsiaWorld-Arena in Hong Kong on January 17, and Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur on January 31. According to the announcement, DAY6 will add more dates and locations to their upcoming world tour. Meanwhile, ticketing details for DAY6's The DECADE in Manila are yet to be revealed. DAY6, composed of Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon, debuted on September 7, 2025, under JYP Entertainment.
