Stop Sticks Lead To Fatal Crash During Police Chase
A simple device, Stop Sticks, didn't just end this police chase in Cottage Grove, Minnesota, it ended three lives. The Stop Sticks weren't actually directly responsible for the suspects' death in this case – that dishonor is on the shoulders of the driver who kept pushing the crossover after the tires were deflated.The chase began when a sergeant noticed the crossover behaving suspiciously. Trying to pull it over, the suspect driver decided to take off instead. It wasn't long before the vehicle was going over 100 mph on city streets, which could easily have resulted in killing innocent bystanders.
By their very nature, things happen quickly during high-speed police chases. While it's easy for everyone to sit around and watch the footage online in the comfort of their home, the reality is cops often have to make split-second decisions where life and death hang in the balance.
In this case, police relied on their training, deploying Stop Sticks instead of doing a high-speed PIT maneuver since the latter is incredibly risky. But even playing it 'safe' doesn't mean there are any guarantees of true safety.
After running over the Stop Sticks, the suspect driver just pushes the mediocre crossover harder. Coming to a bend in the road, the metal wheel rims don't react like inflated tires, numbing the handling and resulting in the vehicle leaving the road, hitting a tree, and turning into a fireball.
As police show up on the crash scene, you can see the crossover hit the massive tree trunk head-on. Officers draw their sidearms while approaching the mangled vehicle, because sadly even after bad crashes some criminals will ambush cops.
But there's nobody living in the vehicle to do anything. The roof is caved in, the front end is obliterated, and the occupants are pinned inside. It was a senseless end to three lives, which is why just pulling over and talking to police is always the better choice.

Tesla camera captures video of suspects stealing safe from Woodland Hills home
Cameras on a Tesla captured the moments that two suspects allegedly took off with a safe they stole from a home in Woodland Hills on Sunday. Los Angeles police say that the burglary was reported just after 7 p.m. in the 4800 block of Canoga Avenue. The video shows two men, one wearing a black hoodie and black jeans, and the second wearing a gray sweatshirt with red pants, as they hurry away from a block of homes towards a black Mercedes-Benz. The second suspect can also be seen hauling what looks to be a safe. After they load the safe into the back of their vehicle they began to flee, but the Tesla driver followed them for a short distance, according to the driver. They said that once the suspects appeared to notice they were being followed, they performed a quick u-turn, which caused them to clip another vehicle. A neighbor who witnessed the crash said that the suspects sped from the area despite the tire being damaged in the collision. "He literally took off full speed, skidding with the tire track," said the neighbor. No injuries were reported in the incident and no arrested have been announced by police.

Investigation underway after man shot to death in South Bay neighborhood
A man was shot to death inside of a 7-Eleven store in Lawndale on Sunday night. The shooting happened a little after 8 p.m. at the convenience store located in the 15800 block of Prairie Drive, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Deputies arrived and found one man suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. He was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. The victim has not yet been identified. There was no information immediately available on the motive or suspects involved in the shooting. SkyCal flew over the 7-Eleven shortly after the incident was reported, where deputies could be seen surveying the area. The entrance to the store was blocked off by yellow tape. Anyone who knows more is asked to contact LASD's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.

A woman has gone missing and police are concerned for her welfare
An appeal has been launched for help to track down a young woman who has gone missing. Police are looking to locate Sherine Dunn, stating there is concern for her welfare. Officers have released a description of the 22-year-old in the hopes of triggering the memory of anyone who may have seen her. They have encouraged anyone who knows of her whereabouts, or has any information to share which may be helpful to the search, to come forward and share it with police. A statement from South Wales Police reads as follows: "Sherine Dunn 22, from Swansea is missing and there is concern for her welfare. "Sherine is from the city centre but has links to Townhill, St Thomas and Bonymaen. "She is described as 5ft 2 inches tall, slim, with long hair, and has tattoos on her neck." Police ask anyone with information contacts them using the reference number 2500219822 via its live chat platform, by filling in an online form or calling 101. South Wales Police says it receives, on average, more than 8,000 missing persons reports every year. It says a missing person is defined as someone whose whereabouts cannot be established, and that they will be considered missing until they care located and their wellbeing or otherwise is established. Its website reads: "Often the missing person themselves does not consider themselves 'missing', however until they are sighted safe and well by police as a result of the concerns raised for them, they will be classed as a missing person. "While we appreciate our communities' concerns when a person goes missing, and the genuine offers of help and support, we kindly ask that the public don't conduct their own searches. "We ask this for a number of reasons; our searches are coordinated by highly-trained, well-equipped search experts who take an intelligence-led, methodical approach which everyone involved understands and follows."
