Chicago Sky Receive Kamilla Cardoso Update After Three Missed Games
The Chicago Sky have been without second-year forward Kamilla Cardoso for the last three contests. She is currently playing for her home country, Brazil, in the FIBA Americup tournament and stepped away from the WNBA temporarily as a result.

In her final game before departing, she contributed a career-high 27 points, as well as seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks in a 97 to 86 win against the Los Angeles Sparks.
Cardoso is currently averaging 12.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game this season for the 5-11 Sky and has started all 14 contests that she has appeared in.

After initial reports indicated that Cardoso would just miss two games for Chicago, Brazil advanced to the final against Team USA on Sunday. This meant that Cardoso would miss Sunday's game between the Sky and the 16-2 Minnesota Lynx.
Roberta F. Rodrigues, a WNBA reporter, provided a clearer update on Cardoso's return, however. Rodrigues wrote that Cardoso would be flying back to the United States on Tuesday morning.

"Damiris Dantas, Kamilla Cardoso and Pokey Chatman are scheduled to leave Santiago, Chile, tomorrow night sources in Santiago are telling me," Rodrigues wrote. "They should land in the USA Tuesday morning."
This update means that Cardoso is unlikely to be available for Tuesday morning's matchup against the 8-10 Washington Mystics. However, she could be available as soon as Wednesday's game against the 6-13 Dallas Wings.
Cardoso was named to the 2024 All-Rookie team last season after a campaign in which she contributed 9.8 points and 7.9 rebounds for the 13-27 Chicago Sky. Her scoring has increased by almost three points per game in her second season.
