Sharjah: 10 years of traffic violations waived off; all you need to know

SHARJAH (ALETIHAD) The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), during its meeting on Tuesday, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), approved a decision regarding the waiver of traffic violations in Sharjah. Under the new decision, violations recorded by the competent authority at the Sharjah Police General Command will be dropped if 10 years have passed since the date of the violation. In addition, the decision stipulates a fee of Dh1,000 for submitting a request to waive traffic violations, with the following exemptions:- Verified death of the vehicle owner.- Verified continuous departure of the vehicle owner from the country for no less than 10 years.- Abandoned vehicles, where the owner cannot be reached.
The meeting was held in the Sharjah Ruler's Office, with the attendance of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC).

Saudi Electricity Company boosts Haj grid capacity by 75%
The Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has significantly increased the electrical grid capacity in the holy sites for this Hajj season by over 75% compared to last year, investing more than SAR3 billion in development projects. This enhancement, guided by government directives and Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, stems from a thorough review of past Hajj seasons and anticipated needs, reported SPA. SEC stated that projects were implemented early, ensuring full load connectivity for network reliability. The operations and management center in the holy sites is now equipped with advanced, AI-supported technical applications for comprehensive system monitoring, with equipment connected via fiber optics for rapid information flow and timely decision-making by trained national cadres, said the report. SEC has also developed a robust emergency plan, deploying over 2,200 engineers, technicians, and specialists across 57 strategically located centers to ensure a response time of under five minutes anywhere in the holy sites, it added. Responsible e-waste disposal urged as Enviroserve, Tadweer boost recycling efforts

On World Environment Day, experts urged the public to ensure these gadgets are sent to trusted recyclers, emphasising the importance of responsible e-waste advance recycling efforts and boost the UAE's circular economy, Abu Dhabi's waste management entity Tadweer Group has acquired a 50% stake in Enviroserve - one of the world's largest e-waste recycling facilities - in on the public to pay close attention to e-waste in their households, Shashidhar Y S, Board Member and Managing Director at Enviroserve, spoke to Aletihad about the proper disposal of electronics."One of the most damaging myths is that old electronics are harmless if stored or discarded," Shashidhar said.
