He blasted manager Luis Enrique in an open letter on Wednesday.
And earlier today, Donnarumma's agent Enzo Raiola threatened legal action against PSG for their treatment of the stopper.
But both men are sure to have smiled after seeing replacement Chevalier ship two goals in the Super Cup final against Spurs.
The first came after PSG's new goalie produced a fine save, only for Micky van de Ven to pounce on the rebound.

However, the second goal occurred after Chevalier suffered a severe case of sausage fingers, allowing Cristian Romero's effort to slip through his hands while simultaneously pushing it into his own net.
Fans were quick to comment online that Donnarumma, widely regarded as one of the world's best goalies, wouldn't have made the error in Chevalier's place.
One said: 'Dropping Donnarumma for Chevalier is criminal!'
Another declared: 'Awful decision to downgrade from Donnarumma.'

One noted: 'But, but, Chevalier is better than Donnarumma!'
Another added: 'It's a good thing PSG signed a goalie who is good with his feet.'

Fortunately for Chevalier, he ended up having the last laugh on Wednesday night.
Despite PSG being 2-0 down with five minutes remaining, they ended up taking the game to penalties thanks to last-gasp strikes from Kang-In Lee and Goncalo Ramos.
Spurs then missed two of their spot-kicks, with Van de Ven's effort saved by Chevalier, as PSG lifted the Super Cup in dramatic style.

In an unusual twist, the kit is a grey-looking colour complete with a trim of green down the sides and neck - officially "Cool Weather/Pro Green" - and features a raindrop design all over. Puma have said the colouration pays homage to the people, the culture, and the spirit of Manchester - including the famous Mancunian weather. Selling for up to £130 for an authentic jersey, or £85 for a standard and £90 for a long sleeve version, club commercial chiefs and kit manufacturer Puma naturally hope the kit will be a nice money-spinner. Tottenham 'disgusted' over racist abuse aimed at star as they release statement

Tottenham said they are "disgusted" after Mathys Tel was subjected to racial abuse on social media following Wednesday night's Super Cup defeat to PSG. The Frenchman took the penalty in the shootout but missed, leading to online abuse. Thomas Frank's team had been leading 2-0 against the Champions League victors before two late goals brought the French side level. Tottenham ended up losing in the penalty shootout with Tel being one of the two players who missed. The forward has recently made his move to north London permanent and was a substitute in Frank's first competitive match as manager. The former Bayern Munich player failed to score from 12 yards, allowing the Parisians to win the match and claim the trophy and Tottenham are incensed by the amount of abuse Tel has received since, reports the Mirror. A club statement read: "We are disgusted at the racial abuse that Mathys Tel has received on social media following last night's UEFA Super Cup defeat. Mathys showed bravery and courage to step forward and take a penalty, yet those who abuse him are nothing but cowards - hiding behind anonymous usernames and profiles to spout their abhorrent views. "We will work with the authorities and social media platforms to take the strongest possible action against any individual we are able to identify. We stand with you, Mathys." Tel made a switch to Tottenham on loan back in February, and the club has now confirmed his move as permanent. Despite Tottenham ending up on the losing side of the penalty shootout, Frank praised those who stepped up. He stated: "I agree, it's down to the smallest of margins in the penalty shootout. It's like the flip of a coin. First I'd like to thank all the players that stood up and were brave and took responsibility to take a penalty." Tottenham are set to kick off their campaign this Saturday, welcoming Burnley to north London. Frank is aiming for significant improvements from last season, when the team ended up in a disappointing 17th place despite their Europa League triumph.

Thomas Frank proud of Spurs players as ‘special operation' fails against PSG

Set-piece goals by Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero had Spurs halfway towards another trophy – only three months on from Frank's predecessor Ange Postecoglou clinching Europa League success in May. Champions League winners PSG, who only returned to pre-season last week following their Club World Cup exploits in July, fought back impressively – with substitute Kang-in Lee pulling one back with five minutes left before Goncalo Ramos grabbed an equaliser in the fourth-minute of stoppage-time. It was initially advantage Tottenham in the shoot-out when Vitinha missed PSG's first kick and Rodrigo Bentancur put the Premier League club two up, but it was followed by Van de Ven and Mathys Tel failing to score as Frank's competitive debut ended in a 4-3 shoot-out defeat after a 2-2 draw.
