Minneapolis police searching for man wanted in connection with Elliot Park fatal shooting
Police say Deshon Kanye Gregory, 20, may be armed and not to approach him. Anyone who sees him should call 911 immediately.
Gregory was charged Thursday with one count of second-degree murder and three counts of attempted second-degree murder, according to a criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County.
Charges say Gregory arrived outside a house on the 1500 block of 11th Avenue South after texting a woman who lived there, "Come out." The woman told police Gregory had arrived with another woman and wanted to fight.
Investigators learned Gregory had allegedly been demanding $40 from the woman, with whom he had a previous relationship.
The woman and her two sisters went outside and saw Gregory outside with another woman. At one point, charges say Gregory warned one of the women he was going to shoot her. He then took out a gun and "started shooting at everyone," according to the complaint. That's when 30-year-old Lafayette Collaso, who had been on the front porch of the home, was shot.
Charges say surveillance video cameras in the area captured the shooting. Officers also found 11 discharged 9 mm cartridge casings nearby.
Two children were among the witnesses when the shooting happened, according to the criminal complaint. Because of this, the state may seek an enhanced sentence.
Gregory is under court supervision and has multiple pending charges, including two domestic assault cases and one fourth-degree assault case.

Search for suspect after 17-year-old stabbed
A police investigation has been launched after a teenager was stabbed. Emergency services were called to a property in Martyrs Avenue in Langley Green, near Crawley, West Sussex, at about 21:50 BST on Thursday. Two fighting for life after horror crash
Three people have been seriously injured, two critically, following a devastating head-on crash on a highway south of Gympie. Emergency crews rushed to the scene on the Mary Valley Hwy at Gildora, near the intersection with Ashton Rd, just after 11.45am on Friday. Police believe two vehicles, including a blue Ford ute, collided head-on along the 100km/h stretch, leaving one person trapped in the wreckage. A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a man in his 60s was taken to Gympie Hospital with potentially life-threatening chest injuries. A man in his 20s was flown to a southeast Queensland hospital with serious chest injuries, while a third patient, whose age and gender have not yet been confirmed, remained in a critical condition at the scene on Friday afternoon. The Mary Valley Hwy has been closed at Lawson Rd, several kilometres from the crash site, with diversions now in place. More to come.

Fresh search launched for teen missing for decades
Police divers are scouring a river bed in the hopes of uncovering the remains of a 15-year-old girl believed to have been murdered more than two decades ago. Melissa Trussell and her mother Rosemary Brown, 33, were last seen leaving their South Australian home at Blair Athol about 2.30am on May 13, 2000. Rosemary's body was located in the Garden Island mangroves weeks later but Melissa's body was never found. Police launched a fresh search on Friday in the Port River estuary at Garden Island in the hopes of uncovering Melissa's remains to provide her family with closure. Divers are scouring a previously unsearched area of water and mangroves on the island's northern side. "This search really does show to everyone that we never give up trying to find answers to those investigations," Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke told reporters. "We are hopeful that we will find Melissa's remains today, but we are not sure that we will." Det Fielke did not know why the particular area near Garden Island had never been searched 25 years ago but a cold case review identified it as a place for further investigations. A number of exhibits obtained in the initial investigation have been resubmitted for forensic testing to see if modern technology might result in new leads. Police believe Melissa and her mother were murdered in 2000, but no one has ever been charged, nor has any motive been revealed. Det Fielke was still hopeful someone would come forward and explain what really happened to the pair. "Twenty-five years is a long time, a lot of water goes under the bridge, people's allegiances change over time, people forget about it, some people don't forget about it," he said. "We are always in there prodding and poking away trying to get a breakthrough." Melissa's father Barry Trussell earlier this month issued a plea for information to help provide closure on the 25th anniversary of Rosemary's body being found. "A parent shouldn't outlive their child … and for a long time (Melissa's disappearance) has messed me up," he said. "I'm hoping some fresh information will finally come to light to help police solve the case." A reward of $1 million is available to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest of a suspect in Melissa's murder or the recovery of her remains. Up to $200,000 is available to anyone with information that leads to the arrest or conviction of those responsible for Rosemary's murder.
