Blue Bell's Latest Flavor Celebrates A Nostalgic Frozen Treat

Yahoo07-03-2025

Brenham, Texas-based Blue Bell is known for cultivating generations of ice cream lovers. For nearly 120 years, this small-town creamery has created flavors and treats that have quickly enamored Southerners.
We champion seasonal favorites like Mardi Gras King Cake, savor chilled mugs of Dr Pepper Float in the heat of summer, and swear that Homemade Vanilla is the only suitable partnership for our peach cobbler. Ask any Southerner about their go-to ice cream, and you'll come across more than a few who choose the Texas brand over any other in the freezer aisle.
But scoops aren't the only thing that Blue Bell has given us through the years. Back in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, there was one particularly beloved frozen treat that made its way around the South on ice cream trucks: Blue Bell Banana Fudge Bars. When the dessert disappeared, fans were vocal about its return. In fact, there's even a petition filled with stories of nostalgia.
And while Banana Fudge Bars are not returning to shelves (that we know of), the brand just announced the next-best thing: Banana Fudge ice cream. In celebration of those popsicles of our childhoods, this new flavor features a swirl of Blue Bell Milk Chocolate and banana-flavored ice creams. It's rich, creamy, smooth, and scoop-ready.
'We know our fans still crave the frozen snack bars on a stick that featured banana and chocolate,' said Sara Schramm, Blue Bell marketing brand manager. 'We have received requests over the years to return these products to our lineup. We thought, why not shake things up and bring this delicious combination back as an ice cream?'
Fans were thrilled about the announcement on social media, and took to the comments to share their glee. One user wrote, "I'm literally going to cry! I can remember sneaking banana fudge bars out of my granny's freezer with my uncle (who has Downs Syndrome). Best memories." Another chimed in, "YES!! MY CHILDHOOD IS BACK!"
Blue Bell Banana Fudge is now available in half-gallon and pint sizes at a store near you, but will only be around for a limited time. You may also want to pick a half-gallon of the brand's new Strawberry Toaster Pastry Ice Cream while you're at it.
Here's an idea for your next spring party: Layer the new Banana Fudge ice cream with your go-to Banana Pudding recipe. Y'all won't hear us complaining!

Ciara and Her Daughter Sienna Twin in Power Suits at the Inaugural Black Women in Music Dinner

Ciara and her eight-year-old daughter Sienna Wilson made the case for mother-daughter coords on Tuesday at The Connie Orlando Foundation's inaugural Black Women in Music Dinner in Los Angeles. The mononymous singer received the Avant-Garde award at the event. For the red carpet occasion, Ciara opted for suited styling, giving menswear an edgy spin with feminine touches throughout. The 'Level Up' artist opted for tailored black trousers, which coordinated with the singer's structured blazer. The blazer featured a cinched waist for added silhouette definition and rounded shoulders with long sleeves. Beneath the blazer, Ciara wore a crisp, collared white shirt with a silk black tie and a metallic silver tie clip. The singer's look was recreated in a miniaturized version for her eight-year-old daughter, who wore the exact same suited look with a pair of black kitten heel shoes. Ciara shares Sienna with husband Russell Wilson. Menswear, particularly suited looks, for women reached an apex between 2024 and 2025. Culturally significant figures like former Vice President Kamala Harris, as well as royal women like Queen Letizia of Spain and Kate Middleton, have embraced the power suit to mainstream relevance. Its ripple effect has been felt globally, with London-based brands 'expanding their offerings to cater to women's tailoring, with special care to detail and design,' WWD's Hikmat Mohammed reported in August 2024. For Ciara, the coordinated look with her daughter exemplifies much more than the trendy power suit for women. The coordinated red carpet moment also served as a reminder of the ways in which the singer enriches her daughter's life with fashion to sentimental ends. 'I definitely plan to collect things for her,' the singer told WWD in an interview from March 2018. 'I was in the closet the other day and I was putting on some heels and Russ was like, 'SiSi's [her daughter Sienna] gonna have those.' She was sitting around, so we were joking like, you're gonna have those when I get older — or when she gets older,' she said, adding, 'I definitely plan to keep a lot of cool things for her, especially jewelry pieces.' Shrinking Boss Bill Lawrence Tees Up Reunion With His ‘Hero' Michael J. Fox, Shares Favorite Spin City Memory

You know the old saying, 'Don't work with your heroes'? Well, perhaps it actually should have been 'Don't work with your heroes… unless your hero is Michael J. Fox.' On Saturday, I moderated the Bill Lawrence & Friends panel at ATX TV Festival in Austin, Texas — a panel that also featured Zach Braff (Scrubs), Josh Hopkins (Cougar Town), Brett Goldstein and Phil Dunster (Ted Lasso), and Charly Clive (Lawrence's forthcoming HBO show) — and I asked Lawrence about his reunion with the Spin City star, who has already filmed scenes for Season 3 of Apple TV+'s Shrinking (premiere date TBA). Led to Ted Lasso Scrubs 2.0: Zach Braff Inks Deal to Return for ABC Revival — Who Else Is Expected Back? Casting News: GH Brings Back Kelly Thiebaud, Love Story Adds 3 and More 'He's one of the greatest people I've ever met, he's one of my mentors — and man, what an inspiring dude the way that he is living his life, so to get to work with him….' Lawrence pauses, then continues: 'I didn't expect to have career highlights at this point in my career, and I was on set about 10 days ago watching Harrison Ford, Mike Fox and Candice Bergen — oops, spoiler! — acting together. For me, that was my childhood.' Additional details surrounding Fox's guest stint — which marks his first acting gig in five years — are being kept under wraps, along with any information about who Bergen is playing. But the fact that Fox is sharing scenes with Ford — whose character, Dr. Paul Rhoades, also lives with Parkinson's disease — is certainly telling. As a follow-up, I ask Lawrence if he has a favorite memory of Fox from their time working together on the aforementioned Spin City. What followed was an anecdote from the very beginning of the ABC sitcom's 1996-2002 run: I remember when Mike first made me feel comfortable. I was lucky enough to have a mentor [Family Ties mastermind Gary David Goldberg] with whom I co-created Spin City. I was 25 years old, and Mike Fox was saying things I wrote, and I was so scared to give him notes. What finally broke the ice — and I think he did this on purpose — was there was a joke that I was convinced was going to be f–king funny. Mike's like, 'Dude, not funny,' and I'm like, 'It's gonna be funny,' and he's like, 'All right, I'll do it.' It's the first scene with a huge audience, it's crackling with electricity, and we get to that joke, and he says it, and there's f–king crickets. And instead of going on with the scene, he just looked over at me and goes, 'You f–king happy now?' [Laughs] He was letting me know that it was OK [to give him a note], and it gave me so much confidence. But he was also letting me know that those of us who write don't have to have that kind of egg on our face if it goes south, so one of the things we always tell everybody [on my shows] is if you do something silly and big and bold and go for it, and it doesn't work, I promise it won't be on the show. But yeah, I hope you guys like seeing Mike on TV again. He's my hero. Teofimo Lopez Abandons Devin Haney Fight, Leaving Fans With Questions

Teofimo Lopez Abandons Devin Haney Fight, Leaving Fans With Questions originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Devin Haney was looking forward to clashing with Teofimo in August, but despite him signing his part of the deal, Lopez has had a sudden change of mind. Advertisement A few days ago, when Teofimo Lopez fell out with Turki Alalshikh, a Saudi Arabian-based boxing promoter, he took to his social media page to announce that he was fired and that he was looking for a new job. Hours later, he apologized to Turki and showed regret about his actions. 'To His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, I take full responsibility for my inappropriate words on the X app; I publicly apologize to HE; I will conduct myself with greater respect, humility, and professionalism. Sending love and light to all,' said Lopez on X. Hours ago, a bout for Lopez and Haney was confirmed and scheduled for August 16 in Saudi Arabia. Unfortunately, Lopez has had a change of heart. 'Dear John, Haney's! This is to gently advise you that Teofimo Lopez has withdrawn from the fight, as we'd like to thank you for your efforts and professionalism throughout the process,' said Bill Haney on an X repost. Devin went further and clarified that he was the one who had signed his part; Lopez's was still pending. 'The fight with Teo is not signed! I signed my part, and Teo has been stalling. As of today, he has decided he doesn't want to fight me; he's officially the biggest duck with a thumbs down emoji,' said Devin on X. Lopez hasn't given an explanation why he doesn't want to fight Haney. 'I'm looking to work with a company in the retail industry to launch and expand my 'make boxing great again' brand and other ideas I am working on. Tag a retail company you'd like to see in collaboration and wear as your own,' said Lopez on X. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 8, 2025, where it first appeared.
