Hearn told SunSport: "When we looked at the Pacquiao fight it was coming up to two years ago now, first time, there was no world title on the line.
"It was a big name. We got a lot of criticism about that but I don't think Pacquiao should be fighting for a world title but good luck to him if he comes through.
"I don't think he will. But you know, once Conor Benn drops down to 147, he'll be looking for world titles."
Benn was due to fight Chris Eubank Jr in October 2022 but he was withdrawn after testing positive for Clomifene - known to boost testosterone.

He then faced Eubank Jr, 35, in a middleweight grudge match in April - losing a thriller over 12 rounds
So Benn will stay at middleweight for now - dashing hopes of a welterweight world title challenge.
Pacquiao's advisor Sean Gibbons was forced to defend the eight-division champ's comeback title shot amid criticism from Hearn & Co.
Gibbons told us: "There should be no criticism. Manny Pacquiao coming back didn't need to be ranked anywhere. He just needed the opportunity.

"He deserved it for what he's done in the sport. I mean, people can criticise it all day. Klitschko did it, he came back very successfully.
"I can show you ten guys in that rankings, who shouldn't even be ranked so don't be bitching about it!
"Manny Pacquiao, at 75 per cent could beat most of the the top 20. So people are always gonna criticise."

Arsenal's seven transfer options to replace crocked Kai Havertz revealed as Mikel Arteta scrambles for late deal
Scroll down to see our seven options, including two stars on the brink of transfers New cannon Arsenal's seven transfer options to replace crocked Kai Havertz revealed as Mikel Arteta scrambles for late deal ARSENAL were dealt a bitter blow with the news that Kai Havertz had been ruled out with a knee injury. The blow has left the Gunners' squad short of firepower, having brought the German, 26, on during their 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday. 15 Kai Havertz's knee injury has left Arsenal scrambling to find a new attacker Credit: Getty 15 There are a number of options they are considering, including Morgan Rogers as exclusively revealed by SunSport Credit: Getty Club transfer chiefs had already been eyeing another attacker following the arrivals of Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke, but Havertz's knock means that search will move into top gear. And reports have indicated the Emirates outfit have a shortlist of seven players they are considering as they scramble to strike a late deal in the summer window. Morgan Rogers SunSport exclusively revealed earlier today that Arsenal were weighing up a stunning move for Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers. On Tuesday night Rogers was crowned the PFA Young Player of the Year, with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta personally congratulating him in Manchester when he received the award. The Gunners had already been monitoring the 23-year-old as someone to potentially challenge Gabriel Martinelli, though Villa are determined to keep hold of the versatile attacker. Villa have no need to shift more players in order to meet Premier League and Uefa financial rules after selling Jacob Ramsey to Newcastle for £40m and loaning Leon Bailey to Roma. 15 They value Rogers at £80million and are unlikely to entertain offers below that price, meaning Arsenal would have to make the six cap England international their most expensive signing of the summer. So who else is on the table as an alternative, as the Telegraph report Arsenal will happily seek a loan if Havertz is ruled out for months. BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK Julian Alvarez 15 Former Man City star Julian Alvarez is said to want out of Atletico Madrid Credit: Shutterstock Editorial One of the biggest breaking stories of the week is reports coming out of Spain that Julian Alvarez is unsettled at Atletico Madrid. It is claimed that Alvarez's camp believe they have made a mistake by signing for the Spanish club and want out due to being frustrated with his current role under Diego Simeone. How Arsenal survived Man Utd's attacks with 'forcefield defence' 15 The 25-year-old World Cup winner has already cut his teeth in the Premier League with Manchester City, where he spent two seasons and had 36 goals and 19 assists in 103 games in all competitions. Alvarez has certainly retained his scoring touch in LaLiga, having netted a screamer of a free-kick in the opener against Espanyol despite his Madrid going on to lose 2-1. Alexander Sorloth 15 Alexander Sorloth is down the pecking order at Atletico Madrid and is available for a cut-price move Credit: Getty At the same time, team-mate and former Crystal Palace star Alexander Sorloth is available on the market. The 6ft 4" 29-year-old matches Arsenal's favoured type of player whereby he is a physical specimen, and has an eye for goal with 24 goals for Madrid last season. 15 He is also likely to be far cheaper than most other targets - with the Norwegian being valued at £43m by his club - and have less competition in for him, with West Ham having been linked with a move. But there are also options within the Premier League to be considered. Eberechi Eze 15 Arsenal have long held interest in Eberechi Eze, who was a Gunners fan growing up Credit: Reuters Arsenal have a longstanding interest in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, but would need to hijack an expected deal between the Eagles and North London rivals Tottenham to land the 27-year-old. Spurs and Palace have agreed a £60m deal for the attacking midfielder after a major breakthrough in talks on Tuesday. 15 SunSport understands that Spurs will pay £30m up front for Eze, with the rest made in instalments, with the initial payment helping Palace to sign a replacement for their outgoing talisman. The advantage Arsenal do have is the fact he supported them as a boy, though whether that sentimentality could come up trumps remains to be seen. Yoane Wissa 15 Arsenal could make a late swoop to hijack Newcastle's deal for Yoane Wissa Credit: Rex Elsewhere, Arsenal could condemn Newcastle to missing out on another transfer target by making a move for wantaway Brentford ace Yoane Wissa. The Magpies have made an improved offer of £40m to land the 28-year-old, who scored 19 Premier League goals last season. That being said, the Bees are thought to want between £50-£60m for Wissa. This comes after they also lost key stars Bryan Mbeumo and captain Christian Norgaard to Manchester United and Arsenal respectively earlier in the window. Nicolas Jackson 15 Nicolas Jackson has been offered to Arsenal and a host of top Prem sides Credit: Getty Luckily, Arsenal do have a pair of options who will also be far easier to attain in the form of Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku. In Jackson's case, the Blues have offered the 24-year-old to the likes of Man Utd, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Arsenal for a price of at least £60m. 15 Arsenal have already brought two players from Chelsea this summer in the form of Madueke and Kepa Arrizabalaga. Yet Jackson - who has 30 goals and 12 assists in 81 games for the Stamford Bridge outfit - could be the best of the bunch. Christopher Nkunku 15 Christopher Nkunku has been heavily linked with a Chelsea exit Credit: Getty Nkunku is out of favour under Enzo Maresca despite an impressive Club World Cup, and has been linked with a move away from England as the likes of Bayern Munich and RB Leizpig circle. Talks with Leipzig are at a crucial stage with the club themselves fuelling speculation on social media, but Chelsea would prefer a permanent sale to a loan. 15 When Chelsea previously discussed Nkunku with Leipzig, it appeared neither the player nor the club were interested in being reunited despite his previous successful spell there between 2019 and 2023. The 27-year-old has also been the subject of enquiries from clubs in England and Italy as Chelsea value the Frenchman at £43m (€50m). Internal? While Arsenal will want to make a key addition to their squad in order to help them finally land an elusive Premier League title after a wait of more than two decades, there are internal options if all else fails. Mikel Merino had a successful stint playing up front last season and could be a perfect impact sub behind Gyokeres for the upcoming campaign, though that would then mean Arsenal are short on midfielders. Arsenal's transfer deals IN Viktor Gyökeres - from Sporting Lisbon - £72m Noni Madueke - from Chelsea - £52m Martin Zubimendi - from Real Sociedad - £51m Christian Norgaard - from Brentford - £15m Cristhian Mosquera - from Valencia - £13m Kepa Arrizabalaga - from Chelsea - £5m TOTAL - £208m OUT Nuno Taveres - to Lazio - £4.4m Marquinhos - to Cruzeiro - £2.6m Jorginho - to Flamengo - free Kieran Tierney - to Celtic - free Takehiro Tomiyasu - released Thomas Partey - released TOTAL - £7m ARSENAL TRANSFER NEWS LIVE 15 TRANSFER NEWS LIVE - KEEP UP WITH ALL THE LATEST FROM A BUSY SUMMER WINDOW

Julio César Chávez Jr. deported to Mexico for alleged cartel ties and drug trafficking
Boxer Julio César Chávez Jr. has been deported to Mexico, where he's wanted for alleged cartel ties, following his arrest in the U.S. for overstaying his visa and lying on a green card application. Chávez was handed over by authorities and admitted to a prison outside of the city of Hermosillo, in the northern state of Sonora, an official told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Tuesday because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the matter. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed the news at her daily press conference. 'I understand he was deported. I don't know if it was yesterday or this morning, but we were informed that he was arriving in Mexico,' Sheinbaum said. Chávez, 39, had a warrant for his arrest in Mexico for alleged arms and drug trafficking and ties to the Sinaloa Cartel. Alejandro Gertz Manero, Mexico's attorney general, said the investigation into Chávez started in 2019. The boxer, who is the son of legendary Mexican boxer Julio César Chávez, was arrested July 3 days after his high-profile fight with Jake Paul in California. Sheinbaum said after the arrest she hoped the boxer would be deported to face his charges. Chávez's father was a massive celebrity in the 1980s and '90s who mixed social circles with drug dealers and claimed to have been friends with drug lord Amado Carrillo Fuentes. The iconic fighter defended his son following his arrest, but has not spoken since the deportation. The younger Chávez has battled drug addiction for much of his boxing career, failing drug tests, serving suspensions and egregiously missing weight while being widely criticized for his intermittent dedication to the sport. Chavez won the WBC middleweight title in 2011 and defended it three times. He shared the ring with generational greats Canelo Álvarez and Sergio Martinez, losing to both. In 2012, he was convicted of drink driving in Los Angeles and sentenced to 13 days in jail. In January 2024, he was arrested on gun charges. Police said he possessed two AR-style ghost rifles. He was later freed on a $50,000 bond and on condition he went to a residential drug treatment facility. The case is still pending, with Chávez reporting his progress regularly. AP

Six ways it could end up for Alexander Isak and Newcastle including dream Liverpool transfer and move to former rivals
ALEXANDER ISAK has seen his relationship with Newcastle hit rock-bottom following a bombshell transfer statement. The striker is desperate to join Liverpool before deadline day, with SunSport exclusively revealing their plans for a record £130million swoop next week. 1 There are six possible options for Alexander Isak this summer after his bombshell statement Credit: PA Isak blasted Toon last night, claiming that 'trust has been lost' while demanding his switch to Anfield. In response, Newcastle hit back by insisting the Swede will not be sold unless it is 'in the best interests' of the club. But just how will Isak's transfer showdown play out? Here, SunSport's Anthony Chapman examines six ways it could end for the Newcastle misfit… READ MORE IN FOOTBALL SPLASH THE REDDIES Liverpool approve record Isak transfer as Reds plot £165m double-deal SOLD TO LIVERPOOL The ideal ending for Isak is to get his move to Anfield. Liverpool are determined to sign him despite already landing Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz. But the Reds insist they will not pay beyond their means. The champs are happy to pay £130m, but if Newcastle demand a penny more it could scupper the entire move. BEST FREE BETS AND BETTING SIGN UP OFFERS STRIKE FOR THE YEAR Isak has downed his tools and is refusing to train or play. That's despite having three years left on his contract. 'That bothers me' - Jamie Carragher tells Liverpool NOT to sign £150million Alexander Isak from Newcastle Betfair - Isak to sign before 2nd September 2025 Not to sign or agree a contract with any other club 4/6 Liverpool 8/11 Any Saudi Pro League Club 25/1 PSG 40/1 Arsenal 66/1 Real Madrid 66/1 Chelsea 66/1 Barcelona 80/1 Man United 100/1 If a move to Liverpool doesn't occur, it could see Isak rot in the reserves for at least the next 12 months. But once his year in solitary is over, the door would likely be open for him to finally quit - with clubs like Barcelona and Bayern Munich possibly needing a new striker next summer. RESOLVE AND PAY RISE Newcastle's dream ending, for the players AND Howe. The only way back for Isak, in the eyes of fans, is to sign a new contract. That would reaffirm his commitment to the club. But it would likely end his chances of ever leaving in a big-money move. Shearer's thoughts on Isak Alan Shearer told The Rest Is Football podcast: 'Isak's got three years left. You can't not train or play. You're being paid by the football club. 'Whatever reason, whatever hump you've got, you still have a duty to the other players because of that contract, and to the football club, to go and train and go and play. 'There's a way of getting out of a football club, and refusing to train and play is not the right way.' When asked by Gary Lineker if Isak's situation mirrored that of Alexander-Arnold in his final months at Anfield, Shearer replied: 'You can't compare them at all. 'Trent came to the end of his contract, he didn't refuse to play, he didn't refuse to train. 'And then was well within his rights to leave. Isak's got three years left on his contract. It doesn't take a genius to work that out. 'I sat down with him five, six months ago and I didn't see this in him. I thought he was a manager's dream, the way he spoke.' 'So obviously something has massively upset him and we don't know that. But those two circumstances, Trent and Isak, are totally different.' STAY A YEAR, SELL TO NON-RIVAL Another solution could be for Isak to put aside his issues and agree to stay for a year. This would then see Newcastle sell the Swede next summer at a set price. However, the door may only be open to a non-rival club in order for Toon to protect their interests in the Premier League. One past example was Luka Modric's move from Tottenham to Real Madrid in 2012, when the previous year saw him push to join London rivals Chelsea. Isak to Liverpool transfer saga timeline JANUARY: First links to Liverpool emerge FEBRUARY: 150million record fee mooted MARCH: Isak denies Newcastle contract talk APRIL: Edd Howe hails Isak as 'very professional.' MAY: Howe insists Isak will not be sold Howe insists Isak will not be sold Last match in Newcastle shirt JUNE: Transfer links to Liverpool heat up JULY: Flies with Newcastle for Austria training camp Flies with Newcastle for Austria training camp Left out of Celtic friendly Liverpool hijack Toon's Hugo Ekitike deal after making Isak enquiry Doesn't travel for pre-season tour of Singapore and South Korea, citing injury AUGUST: Training by himself at Newcastle Training by himself at Newcastle Liverpool have £110m bid rejected Isak stops training and goes on strike Moves out of his apartment Releases angry statement blasting 'trust has been lost' Newcastle respond by insisting he won't be sold unless it benefits club SAUDI TRANSFER The oil-rich clubs of the Middle East are always on the hunt for a big name. And many are sure to be watching from the sideline in case Isak opens the door to a switch late on. The wages on offer could certainly make it a tempting offer if there are no other options on the table. But Toon's ownership by Saudi's PIF, who are also in charge of most of their nation's top clubs, means they would not be able to use the Isak money to balance PSR and Financial Fair Play numbers. LOAN EXIT A final way out for Isak could be a temporary one. A loan move would allow him and Newcastle to part ways and put their issues on hold for one season. Then next summer, the two parties can meet with all cards already on the table. Victor Osimhen had a similar situation last year as he eventually moved from Napoli to Galatasaray, while Marcus Rashford ditched Man Utd for Aston Villa before joining Barcelona.
