Young and the Restless Recap April 9: Traci Demands The Truth From Alan
The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, April 9, sees Traci demand the truth from Alan after Ashley insists that Alan is Martin. Chance asks Alan to go down to the station, and so much more.
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) found Summer (Allison Lanier) alone at Crimson Lights. Phyllis said the police still had no solid leads, only more questions. She told Summer about a new clue involving a gas device and a house leased just outside town. When she brought up Alan (Christopher Cousins), Summer was confused, saying she had met him and he seemed perfectly nice.
Phyllis explained the current theory—Chance (Conner Floyd) believed Alan might have died and that his deranged twin brother, Martin, had taken his place. Summer was shocked to learn the man who may have kidnapped her mom had been living in the same house as Harrison (Redding Munsell).
Phyllis tried to reassure her. She vowed to get to the truth. Then she asked about Summer's relationship with Chance. Summer admitted they had ended things. Phyllis assumed Chance couldn't handle the drama surrounding their family. Summer defended him, saying he was great with Harrison, but admitted she wasn't completely over Kyle (Michael Mealor).
Phyllis told her that kind of emotion was normal, but Summer didn't want to make Chance wait while she sorted things out. Phyllis hoped this didn't mean she was trying to reunite with Kyle.

Meanwhile, Sharon (Sharon Case) confided in Nick (Joshua Morrow) about her sessions with Alan, worried she might've said something that could have been used against her. They speculated about Alan's identity, especially since Traci (Beth Maitland) no longer trusted him.
Chance arrived and revealed the abductor had been watching from a nearby farmhouse. He also recovered Sharon and Phyllis's old phones. While nothing yet tied Alan to the scene, they were awaiting fingerprint results from Paris. Then Chance received a tip about Alan's return and left to confront him.

At the hotel, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) listened in on a conversation between Traci and Alan using her phone. Traci told Alan she wasn't canceling the wedding, just postponing it. Alan seemed hurt and confused.
Traci grew uneasy, and Alan noticed her hand in her pocket and guessed she had called Jack for help. Jack burst in with Ashley, pretending they just came to visit. Ashley confronted Alan, noting she hadn't seen him in Paris. Alan pushed Traci to explain, and she said she wanted a longer engagement.
Alan thought somebody had changed her mind and insisted love should be enough. When he tried to leave, Traci begged him not to go upset. He walked out anyway. Traci broke down, telling Jack and Ashley that she hated how things turned out. The Alan she knew would have supported her decision. Ashley insisted it wasn't Alan — it had been Martin all along. She was sure of it, recalling how calculated and controlling he had been. Traci broke down in tears.
Jack called Chance and reported that Alan had left and Ashley believed he was actually Martin. Chance soon spotted Alan at the bar and approached him. He questioned him about the farmhouse and asked if his fingerprints would be found there. Alan brushed it off as a billing mistake. Chance asked Alan to come to the station.
Back in her suite, Traci told her siblings that Alan had once made her feel heard and supported, but after the proposal, he'd grown strangely demanding. She wondered if she'd driven him away or if his mask had simply slipped. Ashley said that it wasn't her fault — it was Martin. Overwhelmed, Traci ran out of the room, and her siblings chased after her.
Traci demanded Alan tell her his true identity.

Keyshia Cole Apologizes After Mistakingly Sharing Ashanti Is Pregnant Again
Keyshia Cole found herself in the middle of a baby rumor mix-up this week, to which she has offered a sincere apology after mistakenly announcing that Ashanti and Nelly were expecting again. The 'Love' singer recently appeared on The Breakfast Club, where during a moment of celebrating her fellow R&B sister, she blurted out that Ashanti was allegedly pregnant with her second child. 'Shout-out to Ashanti, because I mean, she's amazing. She got a baby, she's pregnant again …' she said with full confidence and no hesitation. Ashanti nor Nelly have actually confirmed if they are expecting baby number two. That announcement was met with a waves of both backlash and curiosity across social media. The Breakfast Club co-host Loren LoRosa immediately questioned whether Cole was speaking from fact or simply echoing rumors, while Jess Hilarious and Charlamagne Tha God appeared more inclined to believe her. But as Cole's confidence visibly faded, it quickly became clear that the 43-year-old had shared information likely fueled by speculation rather than confirmation. 'She was being sincere. We really live in an eggshell society, whew! Hopefully this shouldn't cause a rift between both artists, love their music!' one fan commented underneath Hollywood Unlocked's repost of the interview. Another added, 'I doubt if Ashanti even cares. She's somewhere on cloud 9 living her best life lol.' In response to all of the online commentary, Cole slid into the comments herself with an apology about the spill. 'My apologies… I shouldn't have said that. I thought she announced it. If that isn't true then I apologize,' To be fair, Ashanti has been open about wanting to expand her family with Nelly. Back in March, she told E! News that they're planning to add more little ones to their crew — and this time, she's hoping for a baby girl to balance out the boys. 'We're going to add some more,' she said, teasing that if she had to choose their baby's sex, she wouldn't mind a mini-me. 'Definitely a girl to balance it out. I'm outnumbered in the house right now. So, a girl would be great.' House approves pair of resolutions condemning antisemitic attack in Colorado
The House on Monday approved a pair of resolutions condemning the antisemitism attack in Boulder, Co., as the chamber looks to crack down on the spate of incidents targeting Jewish individuals. The first resolution, led by Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-N.J.), was adopted in a 400-0-2 vote, with just Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) voting 'present.' The second measure, spearheaded by Rep. Gabe Evans (R-Colo.), cleared the chamber in a 280-113-6 vote, with 113 Republicans voting 'no.' 'Antisemitic violence will not be ignored, excused, or tolerated in the United States of America,' Van Drew wrote on X after the vote. While both measures were adopted in a bipartisan fashion, the resolution sponsored by Evans drew Democratic ire. Lawmakers were frustrated that Rep. Joe Neguse (D-Colo.), who represents Boulder, was not included as a co-sponsor of the legislation. Some also took issue with the inclusion of details about the suspect, Mohamed Sabry Soliman's, immigration status. Evans' resolution also said the attack 'demonstrates the dangers of not removing from the country aliens who fail to comply with the terms of their visas,' leaning into the politically polarizing issue of immigration. And it 'expresses gratitude' to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement 'for protecting the homeland.' 'In times like these I would have hoped that my colleagues would be willing to come together to properly honor the victims, to condemn antisemitism as I have said and as our resolution does. It's not hard to do the right thing, Mr. Speaker,' Neguse said on the House floor. 'And the question that Mr. Evans should answer is why? Why not join his two other Republican colleagues in Colorado and join the bipartisan resolution that thanks the Boulder Police Department, that thanks the FBI? The purpose of these resolutions is to unite the congress, not divide it.' Neguse and other members of the Colorado congressional delegation — including two Republicans — introduced their own resolution condemning the attack last week. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) said the Evans resolution was 'not a serious effort.' 'Who is this guy? He's not seriously concerned with combating antisemitism in America,' Jeffries said. 'This is not a serious effort. This guy is going to be a one-term member of Congress. He's a complete and total embarrassment.' Soliman was charged with 118 counts of attempted murder after he threw Molotov cocktails at a group of people who were gathered peacefully and calling for the release of Israeli hostages taken by Hamas amid the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel. He was also charged with a federal hate crime after acknowledging that he planned the attack for a year and said he 'walked to kill all Zionist people.' In a statement on X after the vote, Greene said she voted 'present' on Van Drew's resolution because Congress has not condemned hate crimes against other groups of Americans. 'Antisemitic hate crimes are wrong, but so are all hate crimes. Yet Congress never votes on hate crimes committed against white people, Christians, men, the homeless, or countless others,' Greene wrote. 'Tonight, the House passed two more antisemitism-related resolutions, the 20th and 21st I've voted on since taking office. Meanwhile, Americans from every background are being murdered — even in the womb — and Congress stays silent. We don't vote on endless resolutions defending them.' 'Prioritizing one group of Americans and/or one foreign country above our own people is fueling resentment and actually driving more division, including antisemitism,' she added. 'These crimes are horrific and easy for me to denounce. But because of the reasons I stated above, I voted present.' Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
