US singer Tamar Braxton found in pool of blood after terrifying incident, posts to Instagram
Tamar Braxton is recovering after what she describes as a near-death experience over the weekend. The Grammy-nominated singer, 48, revealed on her Instagram stories that she suffered a frightening accident that left her seriously injured. Braxton said she was discovered in a pool of blood by a friend and admitted she 'almost died.' 'I struggled to write this but everyone keeps calling me and honestly, I can't even really talk anymore I'm so weak,' she began. 'I almost died Sunday. I was found in a pool of blood from my friend with a face injury. 'As the days go by the worse it is,' she continued. 'I fractured my nose, lost some teeth and mobility. The way I look at life now is totally different. As my health is on the mend my mental journey begins… pray for me for real. 'I don't even know what happened to me.' Her post featured the song 'Spirit Lead Me' by Clavier in the background. Later, she also reshared a passage from Proverbs 31 — a Bible verse about strong women. Hours before opening up about the ordeal, Braxton shared a simple message on her Instagram Stories: 'Thank you God for waking me up today.' Earlier this year, the Let Me Know singer told fans she was prioritising her health ahead of her tour, which is currently underway. In March, she announced: 'It is OFFICIALLY tour time!!!! Ima tell yall to get yall tickets!! A whole new set list… and the new music STARTS HERE!!!' Braxton has also recently returned to screens, reuniting with her family for The Braxtons, a WEtv reality series dedicated to her late sister Traci, who died in 2022 from esophageal cancer. The show, which followed the family's journey, has been renewed for a second season. Toni Braxton said in a trailer for season one: 'The main reason for wanting to do The Braxtons again is because of Traci.' Their mother, Evelyn 'Miss E' Braxton, added: 'She asked us to do this — this was her last wish.' In April, Braxton posted a moving tribute on what would have been Traci's 54th birthday, sharing a concert video set to her sister's song Last Call. Writing in the caption, she said: 'Happy Heavenly Birthday beautiful @therealtracibraxton. We miss you down here sis!! But I know God didn't want to see you sick like that so, he brought you home to himself to heal you. Thank you for being an amazing sister and covering all of us down here'

Feast your eyes at garden show
KLOOF Conservancy is once again showcasing indigenous flora with its 25th Indigenous Open Gardens Show on Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22 from 09:00 to 16:00. From gorgeous gorge edges to meandering grassland pathways, there is something for everyone as artists and crafters showcase their talents. Various conservation organisations will share insights on birds, butterflies, snakes, monkeys and frogs. Plants and food will be on sale and there will be a treasure hunt for children. Tanya Visser, Highway's celebrity garden guru, will open up her garden (garden 6), allowing visitors a glimpse at interesting and unusual plant collections, or a chance to relax with a picnic. Also read: Traci finds joy in the little things Garden 2 presents a rare opportunity to visit the grounds of the stone mansion at TWIMs and see the extensive gardens that are embracing our local plant heritage. The Flora and Fauna Publications Trust and renowned indigenous plant expert Dr Elsa Pooley will be at Garden 4 to sign copies of her new book South African Indigenous Garden Plants. Tickets are R35 per person for entry at each garden. Entry is free for kids under 12 years. Payment is either cash or Zapper, and proceeds go to local conservation projects. Details are available on the website: Garden No 1 – The home of Helen and Allan Westwood, 5 Everton Road, Kloof. This garden has never been on show before and has undergone renovation in the recent past. As such it offers a blend of established and new plantings and numerous interesting features. This garden is mostly flat and relatively easy to walk about. Parking is available on the verges. Garden No 2 – The Toyota Wessels Institute for Manufacturing Studies (TWIMS), 74 Everton Road, Kloof. This garden has previously been on show with the Rotary Anns but has since been significantly changed with large new gardens and a wetland. It offers a blend of intimate gardening (the original garden) and an extensive corporate garden. This is a large site with lots of 'extras', so allow enough time for the visit. The property can be divided into four distinct garden areas. This garden is flat and has excellent paved paths. Direction arrows will indicate commended route through the property. There is parking on the premises. Garden No 3 – The home of Betsy and Ant Kee, 5 Pearson Road, Everton. This is a well-established garden with a 'park like' feel and numerous interesting trees. This garden is relatively easy to walk about. Funds raised at this garden will be donated to the Mend-the-Molweni Project. Verge parking is available. Garden No 4 – The home of Shireen and Gary Borchardt, 7 Falls View Road, Everton. This stunning first time on show garden is packed with a range of indigenous species on the edge of Krantzkloof Nature Reserve. It is at its best during the winter season so people can expect a colourful display. This garden has a level area which is easy to walk through, but a large part of the garden is on a slope with good paths but challenging for those with walking difficulties. This is at the end of a cul-de-sac on a narrow road and verge parking is available. Garden No 5 – The home of Heather and Laurence Balcomb, 8 Kenelm Road, Everton. Under the previous owner this garden was proudly 'wild' but has been mildly tamed as some structure was introduced to sections of the garden without detracting from its wild nature. There is a small but 'productive' grassland and an extensive forest section to explore. This garden is relatively easy to walk about although there is a forest path which is uneven and on an incline. Garden No 6 – Izolda and Tanya Visser, The Potting Shed, 6 Controversy Drive, Assagay. This garden is now a regular feature of the garden show, and the Kloof Conservancy continues to feature it because of Izolda and Tanya's passion for encouraging gardening and all that it entails. Visser regularly rejuvenates the garden and there is always something new to see. This garden is relatively easy to walk about but it does have some stairs in places. Traci finds joy in the little things HOSTED by the Durban Association of Miniature Enthusiasts (DAME) in Westville recently, the World of Miniatures Fair, the biggest little show in the province, was again a hit for Durban residents. The Queensburgh News met up with Traci Brass who has served as DAME chairperson since early 2023. She said the association is a small but passionate club that began in 1992 with just 11 members. Over the years DAME has grown into a vibrant group of about 40 members. Like all the members, the Queensburgh resident is deeply passionate about miniature creations. 'We find joy and fulfillment in our tiny worlds of detailed craftsmanship that come to life through patience, precision, and imagination.' Also read: WATCH: Lights, camera and action at KZN's 'biggest little show' Since 1994, the association has been hosting miniature shows that serve as a gathering for enthusiasts to showcase their talents, inspire newcomers, and celebrate this captivating hobby. Speaking about the craft, she said miniature crafting is an inclusive hobby — whether you're an experienced artist or just curious to try, success is within everyone's reach. 'It's a rewarding journey that nurtures skills like patience, discipline, and creativity.' Brass' journey with miniatures began when she visited her first DAME show in 2021 after seeing it advertised on Facebook. 'I was instantly captivated and fell in love with the hobby. The very next day, I bought my first project house and started creating. I particularly enjoy revamping houses, and recently I finished a French-themed display house. However, my favorite projects are book nooks — tiny, detailed scenes that fit perfectly into small spaces.' Through DAME, Brass has learnt much from members who host workshops and generously share their knowledge. 'The community is incredibly caring and inspiring, and this hobby continually teaches me self-discipline and patience. It's a wonderful way to express creativity and find joy in the small details of life.' The association hosts workshops once a month and welcomes anyone to join. Even a man who was unhinged and criminal? How could she not see the warning signs? Is it because she didn't want to?' And when Traci goes digging there, what might she turn up? What Happened Today On Young and the Restless May 28? Traci & Diane Bonded
The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, May 28 saw Traci coming home, Claire party planning, and Victor making a scene. The Abbott mansion had a warm glow today, literally and emotionally, as Traci (Beth Maitland) returned home to a refresh that wasn't just cosmetic. Diane (Susan Walters) was proud to show off the updates and hoped they would impress her sister-in-law. Traci, still fragile after her devastating fallout with Martin (Christopher Cousins), found the new atmosphere comforting. She could feel the heart of the home beating stronger than ever. While she praised Diane's efforts, Traci couldn't help but open up about her lingering heartbreak. Diane gently reminded her that needing love doesn't make her weak. The conversation was heartfelt, with Traci admitting she still missed the way 'Alan' once made her feel. Harrison (Redding Munsell) made an adorable appearance, and Traci quietly disappeared upstairs to settle in. With Pietro's (Jai Rodriguez) help and Kyle's (Michael Mealor) support, Claire was determined to make a statement, not just to Nikki but also to Victor (Eric Braeden). She hoped the night would show her grandfather that Kyle was the right man for her. Kyle tried to stay optimistic, though he knew winning Victor over was no easy feat. Still, Claire was all in, even helping Harrison pick out the perfect gift for his honorary grandmother. Meanwhile, Newman Enterprises was brimming with tension. Nikki confided in Victoria (Amelia Heinle), worried that Victor might ban Michael (Christian LeBlanc) and Lauren (Tracey Bregman) from attending her party. With Michael's abrupt resignation and Victor's finger-pointing at the Abbotts, the atmosphere was thick with suspicion. And, she was right to worry. Later, Jack confronted Victor at the GCAC, the temperature rose further. Victor brushed off the confrontation, but Nick picked up on his father's growing paranoia. Dumas's name continued to circulate, and it seemed Nikki might be at the center of a brewing storm. Afterwards at the club, Victor pivoted from rage to romance by surprising Nikki with a refurbished music box that played one of her early compositions. It was sweet—until their conversation swung back to Dumas, Kyle, and Claire. Victoria pushed back hard against her father's interference, warning him not to sabotage Claire's happiness. Victor, unbothered, clung to his conviction that Kyle would only break Claire's heart. Back at the Abbott mansion, Jack and Diane welcomed Traci with open arms. Harrison made an adorable appearance, and Traci quietly disappeared upstairs to settle in—perhaps finally on her path to healing. One thing's certain: between broken hearts, big birthdays, and budding tensions, Genoa City is on the edge of a storm.
