Business Wire24-06-2025
INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kodiak Solutions offers hospitals a proven, technology-driven strategic pricing methodology to set prices across thousands of procedures and services to meet regulatory and market pressures.
'Hospitals have never faced more regulatory scrutiny on price transparency, and compliance requires public disclosure of prices... raising the stakes for making consistent, defensible prices.' --Tracey Coyne, Vice President, Kodiak Solutions
Share
Hospitals and health systems must comply with price transparency requirements under multiple federal laws or regulations, including the No Surprises Act, new inpatient and outpatient Medicare prospective payment regulations, and tightening rules from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
The business pressures of pricing are no less intense: Pricing strategy can affect an additional 0.25% to 0.5% of net revenue for health systems.
'The impact of pricing on revenue can make all the difference in a time of incredibly tight margins,' said Tracey Coyne, Vice President, Finance and Reimbursement Strategic Pricing Lead. 'Hospitals have never faced more regulatory scrutiny on price transparency, and compliance requires public disclosure of prices in most cases, raising the stakes for making consistent, defensible prices across thousands of procedures and services.'
Kodiak Solutions experts partner with hospital and health system management teams to co-develop custom versions of Kodiak's strategic pricing methodology. The customized recommendations also are based on a provider organization's existing financial data as analyzed by Kodiak Revenue Cycle Analytics platform. The optimized, data-driven pricing strategy that results offers health systems:
Improved rates based on the organization's market position, fee schedules, and payor mix;
Standardized pricing within and across the organization's service lines, departments and care settings;
Market-based pricing to attract and retain patients; and
Consistent pricing that is defensible when publishing to the community.
Hospitals and health systems that work with the Kodiak Solutions strategic pricing team receive an electronic upload of new prices, reports on changes in gross and net revenue by facility, department and payor, a price inconsistency report, and more.
Kodiak Solutions recently hosted a webinar on pricing transparency, No Surprises Act compliance and other topics related to strategic pricing that is available online.

SoundHound AI Reports Strongest Ever Quarter, Should You Buy?

SoundHound AI, Inc.'s SOUN shares have declined 31.7% this year, mainly because of competition from the Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) company DeepSeek, which launched its R1 model, and NVIDIA Corporation's NVDA clear plans to expand in the agentic AI space. However, SoundHound AI's shares jumped 26.4% on Friday after the company reported record second-quarter revenues that exceeded Wall Street's expectations. Does this suggest SoundHound AI is set for a bull run, making now a good time to invest in it? Let's look into this more. SoundHound AI Posts Huge Q2 Revenue Increase, Boosts Outlook SoundHound AI's second-quarter revenues jumped 217% year over year to $42.68 million, surpassing Wall Street's estimate of around $32.9 million. The company reduced its loss to 3 cents a share from the previous year's 4 cents. Wall Street analysts had expected an adjusted loss of 5 cents a share. CEO Keyvan Mohajer called it SoundHound AI's 'strongest ever quarter' and mentioned that earlier strategic decisions have led to significant results, driving growth across all business divisions. The automotive division performed notably well, with its voice assistant expected to be integrated into a major original equipment manufacturer (OEM) producing vehicles for both Chinese and global markets. The company increased its full-year outlook due to adding more customers, mainly in China. SoundHound AI now expects total revenues for the year to range from $160 million to $178 million, up from its previous forecast of $157 million to $177 million. Revenues have been steadily increasing, suggesting that it may reach the upper end of its latest sales estimate. More Reasons to Be Bullish on SoundHound AI The worldwide acceptance of AI-powered voice-recognition systems is expected to occur quickly as they continue to improve. Its demand is popping across restaurants, smart devices and automobiles, to name a few. Statista projects the total addressable market for AI-led voice-recognition systems to be $8.6 billion in 2025, and it would likely grow to $15.9 billion by 2030. This gives SoundHound AI a tremendous opportunity to grow. SoundHound AI has a successful business model that generates revenues through monthly subscription services paid by customers. The company is consistently acquiring new customers, leading to expectations of ongoing revenues and more reliable cash inflows. Restaurants such as Casey's General Stores, Inc. CASY and Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. CMG are implementing voice automation in response to increasing customer demand, which is advantageous for SoundHound AI. Here's How to Trade SOUN Stock The successful recurring revenue model, the increasing significance of AI-driven voice-recognition technology, and the record revenues achieved in the latest quarter, along with a positive outlook, should motivate SoundHound AI stakeholders to hold their investment for long-term benefits. Brokers are also optimistic about the company's prospects. They predict SOUN stock's average short-term price target at $11.50, reflecting a 7.3% increase from the last closing price of $10.72. The highest target is $18, indicating a potential upside of 67.9%. Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Despite SoundHound AI's solid sales so far, the company isn't profitable. It has a negative net profit margin as it struggles to generate enough revenues to cover its costs. Therefore, it would be wise for new investors to avoid investing in the stock at this time. Tupungato / Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:HTZ) announced that it will release its Q2 2025 earnings on August 7, 2025. The analysts anticipate a year-over-year improvement in its earnings, along with a revenue dip. Meanwhile, Zacks projects a quarterly loss of $0.44 per share, a 69.4% YoY improvement. However, it expects revenue to decline to $2.17 billion, a 7.6% decrease. Importantly, the EPS prediction has increased by 4.72% over the past month among the analysts. At the same time, Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:HTZ)'s historical record indicates caution as the company has missed the consensus EPS estimate for the four previous quarters. This includes a negative 3.7% surprise in Q1, where Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:HTZ) reported a loss of $1.12 per share. Thus, the upcoming Q2 earnings release is highly anticipated with hopes of a positive earnings surprise from Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:HTZ), despite softening revenue trends. Definitions and Disclosures Regarding Non-GAAP Financial Information We define Adjusted EBITDA as consolidated Operating loss adjusted to exclude restructuring expenses, business combination transaction costs, unusual and non-recurring expenditures and non-cash compensation included within operating expenses, as well as the following line items presented in our Statements of Operations: Depreciation and amortization, Loss on disposal of assets, change in fair value of warrant shares liability and Other income. Alternatively, Adjusted EBITDA is calculated as Net loss, adjusted to exclude Provision for income taxes, Interest expense, net, Depreciation and amortization, Loss on disposal of assets, Change in fair value of warrant shares liability, Other income, and Other adjustments. We use Adjusted EBITDA, among other measures, to evaluate the Company's operating performance. This measure is among the primary measures used by management for the planning and forecasting of future periods, as well as for measuring performance for compensation of executives and other members of management. We believe this measure is an important indicator of our operational strength and performance of our business because it provides a link between operational performance and operating income. It is also a primary measure used by management in evaluating companies as potential acquisition targets. We believe the presentation of this measure is relevant and useful for investors because it allows investors to view performance in a manner similar to the method used by management. We believe it helps improve investors' ability to understand our operating performance and makes it easier to compare our results with other companies that have different capital structures or tax rates. In addition, we believe this measure is also among the primary measures used externally by our investors, analysts and peers in our industry for purposes of valuation and comparing our operating performance to other companies in our industry. Since Adjusted EBITDA is not a measure calculated in accordance with GAAP, it should not be considered in isolation of, or as a substitute for, operating loss or net loss as an indicator of operating performance and may not be comparable to similarly titled measures employed by other companies. Adjusted EBITDA is not necessarily a measure of our ability to fund our cash needs. Because it excludes certain financial information compared with operating loss and compared with consolidated net loss, the most directly comparable GAAP financial measures, users of this financial information should consider the types of events and transactions which are excluded. For a reconciliation of these non-GAAP financial measurements to the GAAP financial results cited in this news announcement, please see the supplemental tables at the end of this release.
