Wales U20s make four changes for Italy trip
Wales Under-20s have made four changes for Friday's game against Italy with head coach Richard Whiffin insisting that the heavy opening defeat against France is behind them.Whiffin's side lost 63-19 to France in the opening round of the 2025 Under-20s Six Nations and face Italy in Treviso on Friday evening.Sale Sharks centre Osian Roberts is set to make his Under-20 debut in place of Elijah Evans while Cardiff Rugby wing Tom Bowen, a second half replacement against France, will make his first start and replaces Harry Rees-Weldon.Bristol Bears prop Louie Trevett starts in place of Ioan Emanuel and lock Nick Thomas is replaced by Ospreys' Dan Gemine."The scoreline didn't really reflect how the game was," Whiffin said of the loss against France."We felt we were in the game the whole time, so we've pushed on that and looked at the positives but obviously there are areas where we need to improve.
"We've gone through the game in large detail and there were lots of positives to come out of it. I thought our pack fronted up incredibly well."Up to 50 minutes we were right in the game but a couple of contentious decisions probably didn't go our way. Yes, the wheels came off when trying to chase the game a little bit."But I actually thought there was some really good elements from our team we can hang our hat on."Wales face an Italian side which beat Scotland 22-10 in their opening game, but Whiffin added: "We're confident in every single game we go into."We've got a good plan that we are going after. "Italy are a big physical team but there's opportunities for us to move them around and be smart with our kicking game and try and preserve some space for our outside backs to get on top of them.

Pep Guardiola's former sidekick set to rival ex-Arsenal star for huge League One job... despite suffering relegation with Premier League club last season
Leicester City first team coach Brian Barry-Murphy has emerged as a contender to become the next manager of Cardiff City. The 46-year old is also on the shortlists at Plymouth Argyle and Bristol City. Barry-Murphy has forged a solid reputation after being thrust into management at Rochdale before moving to Manchester City where he worked as manager of their Elite Development Squad and won consecutive Premier League 2 titles helping players such as Cole Palmer, Romeo Lavia and CJ Egan-Riley. Pep Guardiola leant on him for character references for the youngsters coming through and also asked him to help with first-team training. The former Republic of Ireland U21 international midfielder joined Leicester last summer, initially alongside Steve Cooper, but stayed on to work with Ruud van Nistelrooy. Cardiff suffered relegation to League One last season, coming 24th in the Championship. Their ownership is determined to return at the first attempt. Aaron Ramsey, who has an offer to carry on playing with UNAM Pumas in Mexico, has also pitched for the manager's job on a permanent basis.

Darwin Nunez makes Liverpool transfer exit decision after £60m offer rejected
Liverpool are keen to find a buyer for Darwin Nunez in the summer transfer window, but the Uruguay international could dictate his own future after Florian Wirtz arrives Liverpool may have to find a new buyer for Darwin Nunez, with the Uruguay international not keen on a move to Saudi Arabia at this stage in his career. Liverpool want to sell Nunez in the summer transfer window in part to help fund the club-record deal for Florian Wirtz, but face a few obstacles. The Reds are still in negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen over the structure of a deal for Wirtz. Their latest offer, submitted on Friday, consisted of £100million plus £14m in add-ons. Both sides are still confident the transfer will go through and Liverpool are looking at ways to raise funds. The sale of Nunez represents one of the best ways to do so, with the 25-year-old still having three years on his contract. He struggled for regular game time under Arne Slot last season, starting just eight Premier League games, and has hinted that he would like to leave this summer. Nunez is Liverpool's record signing, having joined from Benfica in June 2022 for £85m, made up of £64m plus add-ons, and the club are keen to recoup as much of that as possible. The Athletic reports that the club rejected an offer of €70m (£60m) from Al-Nassr in January, but have now fielded more interest from Saudi Arabia. Liverpool were reportedly contacted by Al-Hilal on Monday and would be keen to do business. However, Nunez is understood to favour staying in Europe, with a move to Spain or Italy his preference. The Uruguay international has been linked with Atletico Madrid, as well as Italian champions Napoli. It remains to be seen whether either of those clubs step up their reported interest in Nunez, who has contributed 40 goals and 26 assists in 143 games for Liverpool over the past three seasons. Earlier in the season, Slot was forced to respond to suggestions that Nunez had been benched for financial reasons, with Liverpool reportedly trying to avoid triggering a further payment to Benfica of around £4.2m. HAVE YOUR SAY! Are Liverpool right to sell Darwin Nunez? Comment below. However, the Dutchman is not oblivious to Nunez's unhappiness at sitting on the bench. 'I don't know exactly what is going to happen. One of the main strengths we had this season is that everybody accepted his role,' Slot said recently. 'And his role sometimes could be to start every single game, hardly be taken off, sometimes be taken off. It could be sometimes not starting every single game, sometimes not playing hardly minutes.' Nunez is just one of a group of players who could leave Liverpool this summer. Harvey Elliott and Kostas Tsimikas are both expected to leave in the summer transfer window, while there is some doubt over Luis Diaz, who is being targeted by Barcelona, although Liverpool don't want to sell the Colombia international. Andy Robertson has also admitted his place will come under threat if Milos Kerkez arrives in a £45m deal from Bournemouth.

Record-breaking snooker star Jackson Page launches new side hustle after landing £147,000 bonus
SNOOKER star Jackson Page has put his historic £147,000 prize money to good use - and opened up his own shop. The 23-year-old made history earlier this year after becoming the first player ever to compile TWO 147 breaks in the same pro match. Page achieved the feat during a World Championship qualifying win over Allan Taylor in April. The Welsh star bagged a £147k bonus for his trouble - a figure he later described as "life-changing". Page declared he will use some of the cash to get on the housing ladder. But he's also poured some of the bonus into a new business venture. Page is now the proud owner of a trading card and collectables shop. He opened AJs Trading Cards in Brynmawr, south Wales, late last month. The store stocks collectables and toys ranging from Pokémon card to Lego. Page told the WST earlier this year: "Everyone on tour knows that I am really into collectable stuff like Pokémon Cards and other things. BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK "I just decided it would be great to open up a shop as a bit of a thing on the side. "'It is a bit of an interest for me and something I like to do when I'm not focusing on snooker. "It has been a brilliant experience seeing it open up, I obviously can't work in there as I'm a snooker player but I've got someone to work there and it is a good hobby to have. "We've got all sorts of things in there like Lego sets and Plushies, as well as the trading cards. "We've got a few cards in there worth over £2,000. The most valuable and rare Pokémon card we have is called a Moonbreon." Page is currently ranked as the world No.33. He turned pro in 2019 and this year reached his first final at the Championship League. Despite bagging the huge 147 jackpot, Page claimed he would have swapped the money for a place at the Crucible. The Welshman narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Worlds, losing 10-7 to Joe O'Connor on Judgement Day. Page said: "Obviously the titles mean more than the money, so I'm still gutted. "You've got a chance of winning if you're there and I was here to win the tournament. I'm not now. 'I know this might sound silly but I think I'd rather be at the Crucible. 'Last year I was hammered (by Ronnie O'Sullivan) but I was there. I would like to end there, but I've just got to say to myself that I don't want to play at qualifying again."
