In NFL free agency, general manager Brian Gutekunst went out and signed offensive lineman Aaron Banks to improve Love's protection. Then, in the 2025 NFL Draft, Green Bay brought in wide receiver Matthew Golden in the first round and wide receiver Savion Williams in the third round.
Along with the two rookies, the Packers have a lot of talent at the wide receiver position. Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks are all ready for the start of the season and Christian Watson is progressing well in his recovery from a torn ACL.
At tight end, the team has both Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave. Add in the fact that star running back Josh Jacobs leads the way in the backfield and Green Bay looks even more dangerous.
Jacobs is excited about the Packers' offense. He recently spoke out with a blunt warning for opposing defenses.
"I think we can do whatever we want," Jacobs said. "We have so many weapons. We have to get some of these guys the ball."

He might just be right. On the ground last season, Jacobs racked up 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns on 301 carries, averaging 4.4 yards per carry.
With an improved passing game and Jacobs terrorizing defenses on the ground, Green Bay will be difficult to stop. Most of their dominance or lack thereof will rest on the arm of Love. That's a position the Packers are comfortable being in.
It will be interesting to see what the 2025 season has in store for Green Bay. Should the team play up to its full potential, the Packers will without question be a serious Super Bowl contender.

Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Kelee Ringo and more Eagles players to watch vs. Bengals
The Philadelphia Eagles are bringing back the majority of their starters from last year's Super Bowl team, but there are still plenty of players battling for playing time and roster spots for the 2025 season. While the Cincinnati Bengals plan to play their starters, don't count on the Eagles' top guys to see any action. Here's a list of Eagles players to watch in tonight's preseason opener against the Bengals. Philadelphia's linebacker unit has been the talk of training camp. On paper, the Eagles are loaded at the position. Zack Baun, an All-Pro in 2024, returns as one of the team's starters. Nakobe Dean had a breakout 2024 season, but he's working his way back from an injury, which means a starting spot is up for grabs on the top-ranked defense from last season. If he remains healthy, rookie Jihaad Campbell will likely be starting next to Baun in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys. The South Jersey native didn't participate in Philadelphia's offseason program as he recovers from a torn labrum in his shoulder. But Campbell began training camp practicing with the team, even though there was a chance he wouldn't join the Eagles until August. He'll be the No. 1 player to watch if he suits up against the Bengals. Second-year linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. is competing with Campbell for the starting job alongside Baun. Trotter Jr. mostly played on special teams in 2024, but he's also had a strong training camp. Campbell and Trotter Jr. have each rotated with the first-team defense in practice. Rookie Smael Mondon Jr. will be another linebacker to watch. He'll likely fill Trotter Jr.'s role from last season in 2025. The Eagles have a hole to fill at safety after trading C.J. Gardner-Johnson, as the starting safety spot alongside Reed Blankenship is up for grabs. Rookie Andrew Mukuba and Sydney Brown are the two favorites to win the job, but neither has separated from the other so far in camp. Both Mukuba and Brown have taken reps with the first-team defense. Mukuba missed multiple days of camp with a shoulder injury. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio told reporters this week that Mukuba "probably" won't be available to play against Cincinnati. Brown is entering year three with the Eagles and his second year under Fangio. He's dealt with injuries since being drafted, but Fangio said he's "making real good progress" in camp. With Mukuba likely not playing, Tristin McCollum and Andre Sam will be names Eagles fans should watch in the battle for the starting safety job. Staying in the secondary, the Eagles are looking for another starter on the outside next to Quinyon Mitchell. The Eagles made a move at cornerback this week, acquiring Jakorian Bennett from the Raiders. Kelee Ringo and veteran Adoree' Jackson are currently battling for the starting job, but neither has taken hold of the reins. With the Bengals set to play their starters, the two will get tested against Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Fangio also has praised rookie cornerback Mac McWilliams in camp, but he's dealt with an injury, so it's unclear if he'll play Thursday night. Behind A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Jahan Dotson, the rest of the team's wide receivers are fighting for spots on the depth chart. So far in training camp, Elijah Cooks and Terrace Marshall have each had strong performances, which could bode well for each of them trying to earn a roster spot. Cooks entered the NFL in 2023 as an undrafted free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he played 11 games over two seasons. In his final college season at San Jose State, Cooks caught 69 passes for 1,076 yards and 10 scores. Marshall, a former second-round pick in 2021, has yet to live up to his draft status, but Brown had high praise for the former LSU wideout early in camp. Marshall recently returned from an injury, so it's unclear if he'll play against Cincy. Johnny Wilson and Ainias Smith — the team's 2024 draft picks at wide receiver — are also battling for roster spots. They could each have the edge over players like Cooks and Marshall because they were drafted by the Eagles. The Eagles added edge rushers Azeez Ojulari and Joshua Uche after losing Josh Sweat to free agency and Brandon Graham to retirement following the 2024 season. But both Ojulari and Uche have had quieter camps. Ojulari and Uche practicing against the best offensive tackles in the NFL might be a product of that, but the Eagles will likely want to see more from their rotational edge rushers in the weeks to come. Fangio said Ojulari and Uche have had better practices lately. Still, the Eagles could look to add a veteran edge rusher if the team doesn't feel good about the group behind Nolan Smith and Jaylx Hunt heading into the season. Tanner McKee, Jalen Hurts' backup, has shone in the preseason since the team drafted him in 2023. Now, rookie quarterback Kyle McCord will get a chance to do it as well. McCord, a St. Joe's Prep product who was picked in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL draft out Syracuse, will likely get a good amount of playing time against the Bengals. McCord is competing with Dorian Thompson-Robinson to become Philadelphia's third-string quarterback. The Eagles acquired Thompson-Robinson in a trade that sent Kenny Pickett to the Cleveland Browns. Philadelphia will likely want to see McCord follow the same developmental path that McKee has gone down the last two seasons.

Once known as the '28-3′ coach, Dan Quinn embraced his adversity and is back on top with the Commanders
The Patriots are the team that delivered those scars. While Quinn is at Gillette Stadium this week for practice and a preseason game, hanging on the scoreboard are reminders of two of his most painful experiences — the Patriots' banners from Super Bowls 49 and 51. Quinn was the Seahawks' defensive coordinator in 2014 when they threw the Super Bowl away on the 1-yard line. And he was the Falcons' head coach in 2016 when they couldn't protect a 28-3 lead late in the third quarter, arguably the biggest meltdown in sports history when considering the stakes. I'd much rather get your heart broke, fight back and go for it, than not.' Advertisement Fight back. Two appropriate words for Quinn. Many coaches would get crushed by the weight of the 28-3 game. It's not an easy thing to come back from. But Quinn fought back. First with the Falcons, then the Cowboys, now with the Commanders. Quinn has done an admirable job of embracing and learning from his toughest losses, yet not being defined by them. He's not only a head coach again, but guiding one of the hottest teams in the NFL. With each success, the 28-3 game becomes a smaller part of his legacy. Advertisement 'You have to learn from it. That's coaching, that's life. What could have been a blind spot?' Quinn said. 'And as painful as it is, I'd much rather be in that environment every single time than not have the option to go do it, as much as it sucks when you're going through it.' Quinn's tenure in Atlanta never recovered from that Super Bowl loss. Quinn went 43-42 over 5½ seasons, and But that is only part of Quinn's story. His failures led to several impressive accomplishments. Foremost was how he kept the Falcons together the season following their Super Bowl collapse. The Falcons 'ate the [bleep] sandwich,' as Quinn made the team's motto all year, and went 10-6 with a playoff win over the Rams. 'People ask what was something to be proud of, that's actually one,' Quinn said. 'You get your ass back up off the mat and you fight again. How do you fight back, as opposed to just making excuses or feeling badly about it? I was proud of that win through my time there only for that reason — learn to fight again.' And Quinn has proven repeatedly to be an elite culture changer and program builder. He took over a 6-10 Falcons team and had them in the Super Bowl in Year 2. Immediately after Atlanta, Quinn became coordinator of a Cowboys defense that ranked 28th in points allowed, and finished seventh, fifth, and fifth in his three seasons. The Commanders completed their first 12-win season since 1991 and 'Dan Quinn is just a real dude and a real coach,' pass rusher Dante Fowler said last year. 'A guy that just trusts and believes in me, so why not want to go and play for a guy like that?' Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. said the players respect that Quinn 'keeps it real with us and allows us to be ourselves.' Quinn's energy and positivity are what the Commanders needed after 25 years of misery under 'Man, unbelievable human,' said cornerback Jonathan Jones, who joined the Commanders this offseason after nine years with the Patriots. 'Every day there's buy-in in the building. And he just gets it, from working hard to taking care of guys and just making sure that guys are prepared in every way possible. It's an honor to play for him.' Advertisement Quinn said the key to the Commanders' remarkable 2024 season was a three-game losing streak in November that dropped them to 7-5. The Commanders then won seven straight before 'You lose three in a row, man, it's dark,' Quinn said. 'You don't want them to happen as you're building a team together, but you do need them — when the [expletive] is hard, and you figure out what you have and who's about it and you fight your way back into it. I hate that we had that, but I'm not sure we would have done as well had we not.' Quinn knows something about that. He didn't choose to get punched in the gut twice by the Patriots in the Super Bowl. But fighting back and embracing those moments head-on is why he is still thriving as a coach. 'There's going to be adversity, so you better figure out how to come out the other end and learn the lessons from it,' Quinn said.
