MAKKAH — Police in the Makkah region have arrested two Kyrgyz residents for posting fraudulent advertisements targeting visit visa holders, misleading them into believing they could perform Hajj without a permit.
The two suspects facilitated the transport of 87 visit visa holders and sheltered them in two rented locations within the city of Makkah for a fee. Legal action has been taken against them, and they have been referred to the Public Prosecution. The visa violators have also been referred to the relevant authorities to face legal penalties.
In a related incident, security patrols in Makkah have arrested two Indonesian residents for engaging in fraud by posting deceptive advertisements on social media for fake Hajj campaigns. In the advertisement, they falsely promised accommodation and transportation services for pilgrims within the holy sites. They were referred to the Public Prosecution after taking the necessary legal action.
The General Directorate of Public Security urged citizens and residents to adhere to Hajj regulations and guidelines and to report about violators by calling over the phone 911 in the regions of Makkah, Riyadh, Madinah, and the Eastern Province or 999 in other regions of the Kingdom.

A total of 1708 people were arrested in connection with drug smuggling. They included 995 Ethiopian border security violators, 695 Yemeni nationals who violated the Border Security Law, 3 Eritrean, Somali and Sudanese nationals, and 15 Saudi citizens. The seized drugs included 350,644 amphetamine pills, 1,526,629 tablets subject to medical regulation, 2.6 tons of hashish, and 144 tons of khat. The smugglers were arrested in the border regions of Tabuk, Jazan, Asir, and Najran. This comes within the framework of the Ministry of Interior's anti-drug campaign through flawless monitoring of drug smuggling and trafficking activities that target the security of the Kingdom and its youth. The ministry called on citizens and residents to report any information they have about any activities related to drug smuggling or trafficking by calling over the toll free number 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and the numbers 994 and 999 in the rest of the Saudi regions. The public can also pass the information by calling the General Directorate of Narcotics Control's reporting number 995, or by email: [email protected] . All reports will be handled with complete confidentiality, with no liability on the reporter, the ministry said in a statement.

Nearly 22,000 violators of residency, border security and labor laws arrested in a week

Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — The Saudi security authorities have arrested a total of 21,997 illegal residents last week. The arrests were made during the joint inspections, carried out by the security forces in collaboration with the relevant government agencies, during the period between Aug. 7 and Aug. 13, the Ministry of Interior revealed on Saturday. Those who were arrested included 13,434 violators of the Residency Law, 4,697 violators of the Border Security Law, and 3,866 violators of the Labor Law. The total number of people who were arrested while trying to cross the border into the Kingdom accounted for 1,787, of whom 35 percent were Yemeni nationals, 64 percent Ethiopian nationals, and one percent belonged to other nationalities. A total of 27 people were arrested while attempting to leave the Kingdom illegally. A total of 18,149 violators were referred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents while 2,973 violators were referred to complete their travel reservations and 12,861 violators were deported. Some 18people involved in giving transportation, shelter, and employment for violators were also arrested. A total of 25,439 expatriates, including 22,837 men and 2,602 women, are currently undergoing procedures to enforce regulations. The Ministry of Interior has warned that any person, who facilitates the illegal entry of individuals into the Kingdom, transports them on its territory, provides them with shelter or any other assistance or service will be penalized with up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to SR1 million, and that the vehicles used for transportation or houses used for giving shelter will be confiscated. The ministry urged the public to report any cases of violation by calling the number 911 in the regions of Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province and the numbers 999 and 996 in the rest of the Kingdom's regions.

Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — The Riyadh Mayoralty carried out an intensive inspection campaign in the Manfuha neighborhood, resulting in the closure of 84 establishments for committing various violations. The mayoralty served 531 notices, and disconnected power supply to 11 sites. It also confiscated 31,620 products that were unfit for human consumption, in addition to destruction of 5,322 kg of food items and 25 kg of tobacco products. Sixteen vehicles were impounded. A total of more than 400 violations were detected during the inspection raids. The campaign, which was carried out in cooperation with security authorities and several government agencies, in response to reports received by the mayoralty via its "Madinaty" app regarding violations affecting food safety and product quality. The inspection campaign covered food establishments, meat shops, cafes, street vendors, as well as homes converted into food warehouses and tobacco establishments, in the Manfuha neighborhood featuring a high population density and bustling commercial activity. The mayoralty took strict measures, including warnings, issuing reports, imposing fines, and closing establishments that pose a risk to public health, as part of efforts to protect consumers and prevent the recurrence of such practices. The mayoralty said that it will continue campaigns with daily and periodic inspections and monitoring violations of establishments by using modern technological systems. It called on citizens and residents to cooperate with it through reporting violations via the "Madinaty" app, praising their role in enhancing oversight and achieving a safe urban environment.
