While Honda's battery swapping system promises faster turnaround times compared to traditional charging, the lack of a home charging option has been seen as a hurdle to wider adoption.
Feature-wise, the Activa E gets a 7-inch TFT display with Honda RoadSync Duo connectivity, three riding modes (Econ, Standard, and Sport), and the H-Smart key system. It rides on 12-inch wheels and features a disc brake up front and a drum brake at the rear, paired with telescopic forks and a rear monoshock.

Sebi announces measures for PSU delisting, relaxes ESOP norms for startup founders

With foreign portfolio investors' interest in government securities growing amid India's inclusion in global bond indices, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) decided to simplify regulatory compliance for govt bonds-focused FPIs. The board, which met at the capital markets regulator's headquarters here, also decided to allow startup founders to retain employee stock options (ESOPs) granted at least one year prior to the filing of preliminary IPO papers. Mumbai, Jun 18 (PTI) The Sebi board on Wednesday approved a slew of proposals on the ease of doing business for market participants and measures for voluntary delisting for select state-owned companies. The Sebi board also decided to come out with a settlement scheme for certain stock brokers who traded on the National Spot Exchange (NSEL) platform against whom enforcement actions have been started, which includes clarity on both monetary and non-monetary terms of settlement. This was the second board meeting chaired by Tuhin Kanta Pandey since assuming charge as the head of the capital markets regulator earlier this year. In comments that come amid the largest equity bourse NSE's initial public offering (IPO) plans, Pandey also said that the regulator does not have any problem with the current structure of a clearing corporation being a subsidiary of an exchange. However, he said that the charges levied to an investor for executing trades cannot be a 'black box' and made it clear that the Sebi favours unbundling on this front. The issue of majority ownership in its clearing arm being a hindrance for the NSE IPO is a 'speculation' and not a proposal or an ask from the regulator, Pandey said. At its board meeting, the Sebi also decided to allow category I and II alternate investment funds to offer co-investment opportunities within the AIF structures and a proposal to make angel investors into 'Accredited Investors', which will allow them greater flexibility, as the measures to protect smaller investors will not be applicable for them. A majority of the 19 proposals cleared in the board meeting are related to ease of doing business for the market ecosystem, including in the social stock exchange front, for merchant bankers, and the real estate investment trusts and infrastructure investment trusts. Pandey said entities have raised Rs 20 crore from 20 issuances till now, and the measures announced on Wednesday, including broadening the number of entities, which can do a not-for-profit organisation will help them raise more funds. On the PSU delisting front, the measures adopted by the Sebi board include relaxations from the requirement of the two-third threshold for approving delisting by public shareholders and in the mode of computation of floor price. Under current rules, delisting is successful if promoter shareholding reaches 90 per cent. Moreover, the floor price for delisting is calculated using several pricing metrics such as the 60-day average price and the highest price in the last 26 weeks. Pandey said excluding banking, financial services and insurance sectors, there are five entities, where the state owns 90 per cent or more stake, which stand to benefit from the decisions of the board, and explained that challenges have been faced since the past because of financial performance of entities. Sebi's announcement on the ESOP front is being considered as a major relief to startup founders looking to go public, as they will be able to retain employee stock options (ESOPs) granted at least one year prior to the filing of preliminary IPO papers. Under the existing regulations, promoters are ineligible to hold or be granted share-based benefits, including ESOPs. If they hold such share-based benefits at the time of filing of draft red herring prospectus (DRHP), they have been required to liquidate such benefits prior to the IPO. This provision has been found to be impacting founders classified as promoters at the time of filing of DRHP, Sebi noted. Pandey said the board approved a proposal to 'facilitate founders who received such benefits at least one year prior to the filing of DRHP with the board, to continue holding, and/or exercising such benefits even after being specified as the promoter/s and the company becoming a listed entity'. These proposals are expected to assist public companies who intend to list after undertaking reverse flipping — shifting the country of incorporation from a foreign jurisdiction to India. On the FPI's G-Sec ownership front, Pandey said Sebi has decided to simplify rules and ease regulatory compliance for Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) that invest exclusively in Indian government securities (G-Secs) with the aim to attract more long-term bond investors to India. Currently, foreign investors invest in Indian debt through three routes — General, Voluntary Retention Route (VRR) and the Fully Accessible Route (FAR). VRR and FAR allow investments without many restrictions, such as security or concentration limits. 'With an objective to enhance ease of doing business through a risk-based approach and optimum regulation, the board approved the proposal to relax certain regulatory requirements for all existing and prospective FPIs that exclusively invest in G-Secs. These measures are expected to further help in facilitating investments by FPIs in G-Secs,' Sebi said in a statement after the conclusion of the board meeting. Under the approved relaxations for FPIs investing in G-Secs, the periodicity of mandatory KYC review for such FPIs will be harmonised with the RBI's requirements. Accordingly, such foreign investors will have less frequent mandatory KYC reviews. It also approved a proposal for the use of liquid mutual funds and overnight funds for compliance with deposit requirement mandates for investment advisors and research analysts, in addition to bank fixed deposits for the purpose of compliance. Sitharaman ask fintechs to find solutions to prevent digital arrests, cyber frauds

She said it is important to ensure that startup companies come up with solutions so that people are not arrested at home digitally, or fly-by-night operators do not take their money. Speaking at the Digital Payments Awards 2025 ceremony here, the minister credited fintechs with helping speed up financial inclusion and taking the payment system to even the far-flung areas of the country. New Delhi, Jun 18 (PTI) Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday asked fintech startups to come out with solutions to deal with the rising incidence of digital arrests, cheating by fly-by-night operators, and other kinds of cyber frauds. Another major threat, Sitharaman pointed out, is deepfake technology, which is causing a lot of damage to the public in large. 'Today, we should take care in addressing them so we need a set of fintech companies which are constantly working to give solutions for the newer challenges which are arising,' she said. She also called upon the fintech sector to further expand the digital lending facilities to the key MSME sector. Indian fintech innovations have the potential to become global public goods that can benefit other emerging and developed economies. This will open new markets for Indian firms, she added. International merchant payments through UPI are now accepted at select merchant outlets in seven countries — Bhutan, France, Mauritius, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka and the UAE. 'Our players must aim to export our successful models abroad and capture global markets. We have the talent, we have the market scale and we have the proven solutions,' she said. This, she said, will open up new markets for domestic firms. The Indian fintech market is projected to grow to over USD 400 billion by 2028-29. 'That's not too far away. Just three years. Reflecting on an anticipated annual growth of 30 per cent, the scale of opportunity is immense. I firmly believe its best chapters are yet to be written. 'Together, let us innovate, include, and inspire. Innovate new solutions fearlessly, include every citizen in your vision, and inspire the world with what India can achieve,' she said. Noting that India now actually accounts for almost half of all real-time digital transactions in the world, she said, direct benefit transfer (DBT) has saved a lot of money by plugging leakages. About Rs 44 lakh crore have been transferred through DBT since 2014 and Rs 3.48 lakh crore have been saved. The minister said the speed at which innovation is happening in India is just a dream for many other countries. 'Several advanced countries are nowhere close to the kind of momentum our fintech companies have achieved, not just in terms of progress in their respective areas but also in creating entirely new paradigms. 'This is something which is very unique of the Indian fintech sector,' she added. A World Bank study found that India achieved a financial inclusion rate of 80 per cent in just six years through Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), Sitharaman said. Some observers who have gone through this report have said that this feat would have otherwise taken nearly 50 years, she said. On customer service, she said the future of finance will be 'Phygital' — physical and digital — so it is important to leverage the reach of technology as well as have physical presence, to serve customers better and build trust over time. Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary highlighted the foundational role of the banking sector and fintechs in powering India's digital financial transformation. He underlined that banks have built infrastructure and trust while fintechs have driven innovation and user-centric design together, making digital payments an everyday reality. Financial Services Secretary M Nagaraju said in his address that India's digital payments sector has grown exponentially in the past few years. In FY 2024-25, UPI achieved a landmark 18,587 crore transactions amounting to 261 lakh crore. This growth is a result of innovation and user-centric approach. Mizoram's Kolasib district emerging as key exporter of oil palm

Aizawl, June 19 (UNI) Kolasib district is emerging as Mizoram's leading oil palm exporter, with local farmers earning over Rs 7 crore from the sale of fresh fruit bunches (FFBs) last year alone. According to Godrej Agrovet Ltd, which manages the only oil palm processing mill in Northeast India located at Bukvannei, Kolasib, the company purchased 5,335 metric tonnes of FFBs in 2024. The figure is expected to rise to around Rs 9 crore in 2025, signaling a promising future for oil palm growers in the region. The development was highlighted during a review meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Robert C Lalhmangaiha at the DC's Conference Hall in Kolasib. The meeting brought together officials, industry partners and farmer representatives to assess the progress and challenges in oil palm cultivation. DC Lalhmangaiha said oil palm is now a 'priority crop' under the central government policy, receiving attention from top officials in Delhi. 'The visit of central authorities to Kolasib district reflects the importance given to oil palm cultivation and to the farmers themselves,' he said, stressing the crop's potential to transform rural livelihoods. Oil palm farming was introduced in Mizoram in 2005 under a state partnership with Godrej Agrovet Ltd, targeting Kolasib and Mamit districts. As of now, Mizoram has around 26,680 hectares under oil palm cultivation, of which 6,965 hectares are in Kolasib alone, involving more than 2,100 farmers across 29 villages. Notably, Mizoram accounts for 78% of Northeast India's oil palm acreage, positioning it as a vital player in the Centre's National Mission on Edible Oils–Oil Palm (NMEO–OP). Under the scheme, the government released Rs 2.2 crore in viability gap payments for 2022–23 and Rs 76 lakh for 2023–24 to support Kolasib and Mamit farmers. At the Kolasib meeting, Lalruatkima, Senior Development Officer of Godrej Agrovet Ltd, announced plans to set up an oil palm refinery within the state this year. 'Once the refinery and packaging unit come up, Mizoram-grown oil palm will not only be exported—it will also be processed and consumed locally,' he said. He added that a 'one-stop solution' is being developed to address farmers' input and advisory needs more effectively. Despite the progress, challenges remain. Nearly half the plantations in Kolasib reportedly lack road access, which affects transportation and profit margins. Water scarcity and environmental concerns—such as soil degradation and loss of traditional farming systems—have also been cited by researchers and NGOs. The meeting acknowledged these issues and called for sustainable development practices. Officials present included representatives of the District Oil Palm Zonal Committee, the District Oil Palm Farmers' Association, District Agriculture Officer Joseph Lalnuntluanga, and executives from Godrej Agrovet Ltd.
