Tour sets record with hundreds of ‘Ultramen' attending, graced by star Totsuka Yuki sharing memorable first visit to Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 — The Tokusatsu hero, Ultraman, takes centre stage once again with The Ultra Tour, which will run at Sunway Pyramid's LG2 Blue Concourse until March 2.
The launch event of the tour also set a record in Southeast Asia after successfully gathering 270 Ultraman fans in themed costumes.
Another highlight of the day was the appearance of Totsuka Yuki, best known for his role as Yuma Hize, the 'human host' or alter ego of Ultraman Arc, which concluded its series in early January this year.

Totsuka expressed how much he loved seeing so many fans show their support for Ultraman Arc and the Ultraman franchise in general.
'I can't believe there are so many people here who are so supportive of Ultraman Arc,' he said, expressing his gratitude to the fans.
During his first visit to Malaysia, he mentioned trying local dishes such as curry laksa and nasi lemak.
'There are a lot of interesting shops here in Sunway Pyramid, like Sushi King, and I'm interested in trying it,' he told Malay Mail.
Beyond Malaysia, Totsuka is interested in visiting other Southeast Asian countries, such as Indonesia.
'I know there are a lot of Ultraman fans in Indonesia, so I would really like to visit once,' he shared.
He also would love to visit Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

Totsuka's appearance in Malaysia marks another milestone where an actor in an Ultraman series has graced the Malaysian stage, following Hiroki Matsumoto, Raiga Terasaka, Yuka Murayama in 2023, and Tomoya Warabino last year.
The Ultra Tour is a groundbreaking collaboration between Tsuburaya Productions, the official master copyright holder of Ultraman, One Universal Production Sdn Bhd (OUP), and Sunway Group.
OUP chief executive Alvin Lee said that the tour Malaysia has been truly special.
'This collaboration with Tsuburaya Fields Entertainment International and Sunway Malls isn't just about an event, it's about creating unforgettable memories for fans of all ages while strengthening the cultural bond between Malaysia and Japan,' he said.

The fried kimchi comes to the table delightfully hot, with a server cutting it into pieces, making the chunks much easier to dunk into the accompanying kimchi mayo. The deconstructed crab rangoons — fried wonton chips served with the creamy crab filling and homemade pepper jelly. Agnes and Sherman is a place you definitely want to bring friends and order a bunch to share, but the tteokbokki, tender rice cakes served with beef ragu, uda peppercorn, and Parmesan, is a dish that I would keep all to myself. Lemongrass catfish congee from Burmalicious Top Chef alums Evelyn Garcia and Henry Lu have gotten innovative at Jun. At night, their Latin and Southeast Asian restaurant in the Heights serves signature dishes like fried chicken cooked with a punchy fish paste and carrots with salsa macha and Salvadoran cheese. By day, it's Third Place — a chill hangout spot, a coffee shop, and a collaborative space for chefs in the area to pop up and display their prowess. With two rowdy toddlers in tow, I caught James Beard Award semifinalist Suu Khin on her last day of her pop-up. We peeked into the kitchen as she plated her dishes, and later dug into chicken salad loaded into lettuce wraps, and her lemongrass catfish congee, which was a symphony of flavors — a savory porridge with a medley of spices, chunks of tender catfish, a peanut-sesame crunch, slices of youtiao (Chinese doughnuts), and a jammy soy-marinated egg. Lobster gnocchi (and everything else) at Little's Oyster Bar One of the newest additions to the Pappas Restaurants catalog has recently switched up its menu, reminding me why we named Little's Oyster Bar the Best New Restaurant in 2023. From start to finish, the menu beckons with quality cold raw bar offerings; refreshing appetizers like the delicate local greens salad with honey dressing and creamy goat cheese; a warming cioppino served with buttery sourdough bread, plus Pappas's irresistible fries, and a tender grilled octopus, arguably the best in the city, served with an aromatic zhug sauce you'll want to sop up with the marbled potatoes. Aside from its fresh catches, including a standout Gulf Grouper (ask for the heirloom tomato sauce vierge), the lobster gnocchi was the standout with an herbaceous sauce composed of blistered cherry tomatoes and crisp potato chips for texture. The best bites come when every element ends up on the same spoon. This is a dish I'll keep coming back for. Cornbread with mole and caviar and heart of palm salad from Maximo As a food writer, trying new dishes is a part of my job, but the heart of palm salad at this West University neighborhood restaurant was so good that I couldn't help but order it again. It proved to be just as good and refreshing as the first time, with slivers of heart of palm, strawberries, basil, queso enchilado, and nuts, covered in a Champagne vinaigrette that delivers just the right amount of acidity. The homemade masa cornbread, served over a buttery mole soubise, is a scene-stealer, topped with umami-loaded chicatana butter made with fire ants — a Mexican delicacy; caviar for salinity; and hoja santa oil. Consider Maximo's new five-course tasting menu for an affordable and well-rounded overview of what the restaurant offers. Tuna tostada at Tatemó Dining at Tatemo has become my unintended summer tradition, and each visit brings something new. While I look forward to the rotating specials and how James Beard Award finalist and chef Emmanuel Chavez and his team switch things up, I'm also a sucker for the staples. The Mexican tasting menu prides itself on always featuring something raw, something fried, and something greasy, and I know Chavez's mole is bound to make an appearance somewhere. Favorites, the tuna tostada during this visit was especially refreshing. Between a crispy tostada and a thin layer of Big Eye tuna lies a tantalizing, slightly tangy layer of pico de gallo and chipotle spread; it's an exciting way to start the meal. How to watch the Southeast Asian Games Showcase at Summer Game Fest 2025
We're expecting a ton of AAA and indie game announcements during Summer Game Fest 2025, but the Southeast Asian Games Showcase will highlight the best games coming out of the region. The event will offer some exclusive reveals, new trailers and update announcements on more than 45 titles from Southeast Asian game developers. You can catch all the news through the YouTube livestream, which will start Saturday, June 7 at 3PM ET. The showcase teased some updates with Polychroma Games' Until Then , a narrative adventure game set in a fictional Filipino city, Bit Egg's Lost & Found Co. , a quirky hidden object game, and kopiforge's SEDAP! Fariz Jabba, Nash.D and Prav Debut Road to FAM Series in Singapore
Following a high-octane sold-out show in Manila,88rising'sFuture Asian Music(FAM) andLevi's®kept the vibes high as the show continued in Singapore. The series is both a celebration of local emerging talent as well as the anniversary of the 501® jeans, a wardrobe staple that has been embedded in pop culture since 1873. Keeping the party alive, the tour traveled to Singapore's Hard Rock Cafe on May Jabba, a musical storyteller who marries hip-hop and urban Southeast Asian sounds, hit the stage with his longtime dancers to perform his viral tracks, like 'Ape Sia.' Jabba was accompanied by DJs Nash.D andPrav, who prepared the crowd for an unforgettable night of live music. The two mixed throwbacks with 2010s hits before Jabba took to the stage in a customized Levi's® ensemble created byYouths in Balaclava, a local Singaporean brand. 'The outfit draws from the concept of destruction and rebirth — where scars aren't hidden but celebrated. We used denim repair techniques and signature silver hardware to embody that narrative,' says brand co-founder, Kash, 'We've come to understand [Jabba's] style and energy deeply. Watching him perform in custom YIB x Levi's® was both a relief and a reward. Every stitch carried intention, and seeing it come alive on stage made it all worthwhile.' The look displayed a trench coat with bespoke denim patchwork — a one-of-one outfit for a one-of-a-kind performance. The musician opened up the night with his tracks 'X Games,' 'Serak' and 'Kalah,' before dedicating an intimate ballad to his fiancée, titled 'Stargirl.' For this set, he revealed a mix of his discography, traveling back to the past sonically, while also proving that the future is bright for other Singaporean rising artists. Alongside the music, an exclusive Levi's® Tailor Shop was created for the event, so guests could purchase their own merch and personalize it with customized patches by local studioTell Your Children.
