New York Giants' Jalin Hyatt delivers 6-word message amid OTAs breakout

New York Giants' Jalin Hyatt delivers 6-word message amid OTAs breakout Former New York Giants third-round draft pick Jalin Hyatt is tired of being labeled a disappointment and afterthought. The third-year wideout out of Tennessee is ready to answer his critics with a breakout performance in 2025. He has been vocal on social media that he doesn't forget his critics and former teammate Allen Robinson is encouraging him. "Talk your (expletive)," Robinson wrote. Hyatt was the 73rd overall selection in the 2022 draft after being named the Biletnikoff Award winner as the nation's top wide receiver. His Giants career has not gone as planned. Hyatt has just 31 receptions for 435 yards and no touchdowns in 33 games played. The emergence of several other young wideouts, particularly Malik Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson, has pushed Hyatt down the depth chart. Hyatt is excited that his role is being expanded this summer. The arrival of veteran quarterback Russell Wilson and his famous deep "moon ball" needs a speedster on the other end. He's intent on Hyatt running those routes. "Jalin Hyatt, I think that he's going to have a great year this year," Wilson said. "I believe in him." This offseason, Hyatt was among the offensive skill players joining Wilson in private workouts down in Atlanta. Hyatt has been running with the 1's, or the starters at OTAs. He is not only a favorite of Wilson's but of backup Jameis Winston as well. Winston went as far as calling Hyatt an "emerging superstar."

How Jaguars' LB Foye Oluokun is playing key role with implementation of new defense

How Jaguars' LB Foye Oluokun is playing key role with implementation of new defense How Jaguars' LB Foye Oluokun is playing a key role in the implementation of the new defensive system. As the Jacksonville Jaguars' defense learns a new scheme under defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile, linebacker Foye Oluokun has played a valuable role in implementing the new system. "The pro's pro," Liam Coen said of Oluokun. "He's early to every meeting, sitting down, ready to go. Communicates out there at a really high level. Wants to understand the intent behind each call. He asks phenomenal questions in the meeting room settings, especially when the entire defense is in there. Oluokun is entering his eighth NFL season and has made an impact on the Jaguars' defense in a variety of ways. In 2023, he ranked 13th in run stops among all linebackers. Oluokun has also been an effective blitzer and provided a coverage element at the linebacker position as well. That well-rounded skill set can provide Campanile with a lot of flexibility from a game planning perspective with what he asks Oluokun to do. Last season, we saw strong play from the Green Bay Packers' linebacker unit under Campanile. Rookie Edgerrin Cooper was one of PFF's highest-graded linebackers overall and was a two-time NFC Defensive Player of the Week, and he was the NFC Rookie of the Month in December. Fourth-year linebacker Quay Walker had arguably his best season and, prior to a Week 15 ankle injury, was on a four-game stretch where he ranked among the best at the linebacker position in pressures, yards per catch allowed, and run stops, according to PFF's metrics. "Some of the things he brings up really forces engagement within the whole group--the coaches, the players, different position groups," Coen said of Oluokun. "I just think he has a really nice way of communicating things that he may not understand, that maybe other people are not understanding. It just brings collaborative communication together that, like I said, he's a pro's pro." Just like on the offense under Coen, multiplicity will be a fundamental element on the defensive side of the ball with Campanile. This means having a malleable system that molds to the skill sets that are on the roster and one that is quick to adjust based on what the opponent is doing. In order to have that flexibility, having a versatile presence in the middle, like Oluokun can provide, is an important component.

Tennessee Titans sign fourth-round WR Chimere Dike to rookie contract

The Tennessee Titans finalized a contract with another one of their nine-man 2025 NFL draft class on Friday by coming to terms with fourth-round selection WR Chimere Dike on a four-year deal. An explosive wideout with the ability to challenge defenses with his deep speed, Dike is versatile and is willing to do all of the dirty work for an offense, and add a dimension to the offense that the team lacked in 2024. The Titans had limited production out of the slot in 2024, and Dike appears to be a significant upgrade over Tyler Boyd. Advertisement Dike could also add a spark on special teams. Proving to be a dynamic return man who could give Tennessee the type of weapon they lacked last season. So far in OTAs, he has been turning heads, is developing a strong chemistry with Cam Ward, and has the look of a player who could make a difference. Now that Dike has signed his rookie contract, that leaves second-round pick Femi Oladejo as the only member of their nine-man draft class left unsigned. With the Titans heading into their mandatory minicamp, they would likely want to get that contract done.
