Marseille puts Rabiot and Rowe on transfer list for reported locker room fight
The pair reportedly argued and fought in the locker room after Friday's 1-0 loss to Rennes, which prevailed with a stoppage-time goal despite being down to 10 players in their Ligue 1 season opener.
Marseille's move puts doubt into team-building plans for coach Roberto De Zerbi just one week before the 1993 Champions League winner takes part in the draw for this season's competition.
'This decision was taken due to unacceptable behavior in the dressing room after the match against Rennes,' Marseille said in a statement.
Rabiot and Rowe have been exiled 'in agreement with the technical staff and in accordance with the club's internal code of conduct,' said the club whose majority owner is American businessman Frank McCourt, the former Los Angeles Dodgers owner.
Marseille qualified for the Champions League by finishing runner-up to Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 in De Zerbi's first season at the club.
The 30-year-old joined as a free agent last September after his contract expired at Juventus. Weeks earlier, Rowe had moved from English second-tier Norwich on an initial loan deal that was made permanent before this season.
The transfer window in Europe closes Sept. 1.

VALENCIENNES chief Mathieu Frison admitted "everyone loves" Saints youngster Rento Takaoka less than a month after he joined the French club on loan. Takaoka scored a brace to help Valenciennes claim their first win of the season when they beat Le Puy 2-1 on Friday evening. The 18 year old scored twice in the space of five minutes, having been introduced from the bench for his second professional appearance. Takaoka, who did not play for Saints before heading on his first loan experience, has quickly become a favourite in Northern France. 'Everyone loves him,' Frison explained. The initial plan was for Takaoka to play for Valenciennes' reserve side to gain professional experience, having only just finished high school in Japan. The teenager has never played club football as he joined Saints from Nissho Gakuen High School in March, right after his 18th birthday. Teammate Stredair Appuah has been left impressed by the Japan youth international, who has limited English and French, a month into his loan stint. 'When you understand football and you're good at it, it's easy to play with you on the pitch," Appuah said of the language barrier. 'Rento is a real warrior, a guy who gives his all. He's very strong in front of the goal, he brings depth, and he also has amazing leaps of movement for a guy his height.'

Noel Gallagher has given his inaugural interview since the commencement of the Oasis reunion tour, lauding his brother Liam for "smashing it" while confessing that his own legs "turned to jelly" on the opening night. Reflecting on the first night in Cardiff, the band's initial gig in nearly two decades, he added: "We're not really a band who kind of have huddles before we go on or anything like that.", reports the Mirror. "I can't speak for anywhere else, but for me personally, I grossly underestimated what I was getting into. After about five minutes I was like can I just go back to the dressing room and start this again. "I don't mind telling you my legs went to jelly about halfway through the second song and I could have done with going back. It has been an amazing thing." The duo have made a habit of walking out hand-in-hand for every show in Dublin, Edinburgh, London, their hometown of Wembley, and the opening weekend in Cardiff. Speaking about their on-stage embraces, he said: "We are not those kinda guys. It is great just to be back with Bonehead and Liam and just be doing it again. I guess when it is all said and done we will reflect on it. It's good being back in the band with Liam, I forgot how funny he was!". Commenting on Liam's universally praised vocals, he said: "Liam is smashing it, I am proud of him. Having fronted a band for 16 years I know how hard that is. I couldn't do the stadium thing like he does, I have gotta say man I look at him and think 'good for you mate'." When asked about Knebworth or the end of the tour, Noel responded with a chuckle: "Lets talk about football." He discussed Manchester City's recent victory and expressed his excitement for Oasis' upcoming performance at the River Plate stadium in Argentina this November. He added: "It's the penultimate show, and we've played there a few times before. Without a doubt, Argentina is one of our top five favourite places to perform worldwide. "We are going to Toronto on Friday and then we're in the States for the best part of a month and then Mexico and then back for two more Wembleys. "When it all started there were a few people who I thought would come looking for tickets but after the first gig my phone exploded. Once they had seen it online there was a mad scramble for it." He confessed it was extraordinary to witness countless supporters outside the venues singing along to the performances and remarked: "Something else is happening that we haven't put our fingers on yet." Oasis are touring for the first time in 16 years and have now finished their UK and Ireland dates apart from two additional Wembley performances when they return from America. Tickets became available last year and triggered extraordinary demand. The concerts, which kicked off in Cardiff on July 4, have garnered glowing reviews across the board and generated emotional moments both amongst audiences and on stage.
