HoYo FEST 2025: Southeast Asia's most anticipated HoYoverse event returns in July
SINGAPORE, May 29 — Celebrate and gather with fellow fans of Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact 3, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero as HoYo FEST returns in 2025! Taking place from July 24 to 27, 2025, HoYo FEST invites players and fans across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam to celebrate their favourite HoYoverse titles, and create unforgettable memories.
An event not to be missed by HoYoverse fans
Now in its 5th year, Southeast Asia's premier HoYoverse event – which has grown in scale over the years – is now taking place in exhibition centres across six cities.
HoYoverse fans will be treated to 4 days of onsite activities including themed booths done up in their favourite HoYoverse games. They also be able to take home event exclusive Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact 3, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero freebies, get the chance to purchase HoYo FEST exclusive items, be able to participate in a lucky draw, and check out HoYoverse-inspired merchandise from their favourite creators at HoYo FEST's Artist Alley.
Championing creators and fan artists
Following its introduction in Indonesia's and Vietnam's HoYo FEST in 2024, HoYo FEST's Artist Alley will also debut in each HoYo FEST across Southeast Asia in 2025.
Typically held in Anime Comic Gaming (ACG) conventions, Artist Alley is where local artists can showcase and sell their own ACG-inspired creations. At HoYo FEST 2025, fans can expect HoYoverse-inspired merch from their favourite local artists and creators. This marks the first time that a gaming company is allowing fan-created merchandise to be sold at its own event in Southeast Asia.
Additionally, with the new Stage Segment, cosplayers, performers and fan artists can showcase their talents on the HoYo FEST stage. HoYoverse is proud to welcome creators and performers, who are inspired by HoYoverse's games, to the Artist Alley and to the Stage. The final line-up for the artists and performers that will be showcased at each country will be announced in late June.
Tickets for sale soon
Tickets for HoYo FEST will go on sale starting June 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM (UTC+8) on the official HoYo FEST website at https://hoyo.link/wqjjLntrY.
Fans can choose from 1-Day Passes, Multi-Day Passes, or Fast Passes. Fast Passes will come with early entry privileges, exclusive items, and priority access to HoYo FEST booths and activities.

KL International Book Fair: Platform for foreign publishers to enter local market
KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF) 2025 serves as an important platform for foreign publishers to enter the local market and attract Malaysian readers. Maria Mahat, co-founder of Ungu Pen, a Singapore-based publisher, shared that her company's participation in the fair served to introduce Malaysian readers to her company's offerings and allowed them to build closer relationships. She also said that the books her company publishes focus on children, and are come with unique features such as the use of dyslexia-friendly fonts and digital elements such as animation, songs and augmented reality (AR), which make reading more interactive and fun. Unggu Creative founder, Dr Noridah Kamari said that she decided to join the fair for the first time this year to introduce her books to Malaysian readers and form closer ties with local writers and readers. 'We have attended KLIBF as visitors before, this is our first year as an exhibitor. We want to test the market and see how well Singapore books are accepted by readers here. 'Our focus isn't just to sales, but more towards building a social network with readers and writers, especially from Malaysia. This is because Malaysian writers are involved in our publications, such as the Kayu Api magazine that features their works,' she said. Meanwhile, Muhammad Yusuf from Indonesian publisher Gema Insani said this year was the third time his company joined the fair, and they were sharing a booth with two other publishers from home. 'We are sharing a booth together with Pustaka Al-Kautsar and Gulalibooks and we believe that the potential of the Malaysian market is big with the positive response from chidlren, students and adults. 'The books we carry, include those by famous icon Buya Hamka, historical comics and children's books, match the interest of readers here,' he said. This year's book fair bears the theme 'Buku: Membaca, Memimpin' and ends today after starting on May 23, with over 1,000 exhibition booths by almost 300 local and foreign publishers.

Najib's case showed PM not immune to civil action, says Takiyuddin

(Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's application to the Federal Court to rule whether he has immunity from a civil suit invites direct comparison with a case concerning former prime minister Najib Razak, says Perikatan Nasional chief whip Takiyuddin Hassan. In a statement today, Takiyuddin pointed out that Najib had sought immunity from a civil suit filed against him by then DAP MP Tony Pua over allegations of abuse of power in the 1MDB controversy. Takiyuddin, a lawyer, noted that the Federal Court had decided on Nov 19, 2019 that the prime minister is a 'public officer' and can be sued for abuse of power. 'This case (involving Najib) set an important precedent that a prime minister is not immune to civil or tort action if it relates to the public abuse of power. 'In other words, no citizen, including the prime minister, should be above the law, and no position can be used as a legal shield against actions taken on a personal basis,' he said. Anwar is asking the High Court to refer eight questions of law to the Federal Court for determination, including whether he has immunity from a civil suit brought against him by a former research assistant. He said he wants the apex court to rule whether Articles 39, 40 and 43 of the Federal Constitution grant him qualified immunity from a suit filed by Yusoff Rawther four years ago. The suit relates to events which allegedly took place prior to Anwar taking office on Nov 24, 2022. In the application filed by Messrs Zain Megat & Murad, Anwar asked the court to decide whether the suit would impair the effective discharge of his executive duties and undermine the constitutional separation of powers.

(Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA : Umno's legal bureau has been asked to look into the implications of Tengku Zafrul Aziz's exit from the party to apply for membership in PKR in terms of the party hopping law and on his status as senator. Umno information chief Azalina Othman Said said while the party respects a person's right to make political choices, Cabinet appointments are based on the party represented instead of one's individual capacity. Azalina, who is also law and institutional reform minister, said while the prime minister chairs the national unity council, Cabinet ministers are appointed as the party's representatives. 'An individual's political stance may change, but the party's commitment to religion, race and country must remain steadfast,' she said in a statement today. Earlier today, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said there had been no official discussions on Tengku Zafrul's application to join PKR. He said Tengku Zafrul's position as investment, trade and industry minister would not be affected. 'We have not discussed anything yet. Let him fulfil his haj first. We don't need unhealthy speculation,' he said. On Friday, Tengku Zafrul said he had submitted his resignation as an Umno member, as well as from all party posts. His decision confirmed rumours in February that he would leave Umno to join PKR before his term as a senator expires at the year's end. Tengku Zafrul was previously an Umno Supreme Council member and also headed the Kota Raja Umno division. He had contested the Kuala Selangor seat during the 2022 general election but lost to Amanah's Dzulkefly Ahmad by 1,002 votes in a four-cornered contest.
