APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) announced its National Service Scheme (NSS) awards for 2023-24 on Tuesday. University Vice-Chancellor (in-charge) K. Sivaprasad announced the winners.
The NSS units and programme officers chosen for the awards are: Mar Baselios Institute of Technology and Science, Shiju Ramachandran; College of Engineering, Adoor, Sreedeepa H. S.; College of Engineering, Cherthala, Priyakumar T. N.; Ilahia College of Engineering and Technology, Arun Kumar M.; KMCT College of Engineering for Women, Reena Abraham; Nehru College of Engineering and Research Centre, Rejumon R.; Government Engineering College, Sreekrishnapuram, Askar Ali P.; Thejus Engineering College, Vipin Krishna R.; ACE College of Engineering, Nandu Bhadran; and Baselios Mathews II College of Engineering, Darsana S. Babu.

Nellore: The prestigious Vishwaguru Old Records Game Changer 2025 Awards ceremony was grandly organised in Hyderabad. During this event, distinguished individuals who have rendered notable services in various fields were recognised and honoured with national and state-level awards. From Nellore, Dr Uday Shankar Allam, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology and NSS Programme Coordinator at Vikrama Simhapuri University, received the National Level Game Changer Award – 2025 in the Science and Technology-cum-Social Service category. Similarly, Dr B. Venkata Subbareddy, Assistant Professor and NSS Programme Officer, was conferred the State Level Game Changer Award – 2025 in the Community Development category. These prestigious awards were presented by Justice Lakshmi Narayana Alishetti of the Telangana High Court. The Vice-Chancellor of Vikrama Simhapuri University, Prof Allam Srinivasa Rao, along with Registrar Dr K Sunitha, College Principal C.H. Vijaya, other faculty members and staff of the University, congratulated the awardees for bringing national and state-level recognition to the university by excelling in both professional and service-oriented endeavours.

‘NSS helping shape policies for growth'

Lucknow: At least 25 teams comprising 50 students from various colleges and institutes participated in the state-level quiz competition 'Anvesha 2.0', organized by the state capital office of the National Statistical Office (NSO) to mark the 75th anniversary of National Sample Survey (NSS). Dean, faculty of science at LU, Sheela Misra said, "NSS plays a crucial role in capturing the socio-economic realities of our nation, helping shape effective policies for inclusive growth." Deputy director general, NSO, Suchita Gupta said, "NSS continues to provide valuable insights that support a developed and data-driven India." Anshika Shukla and Swati Dwivedi bagged first prize, Gangotri Singh and Pragati won second prize, while Eeshan Soni and Om Mishra won the third prize.
