'Israeli' reservist, served in Gaza found dead in apparent suicide
Captain Yosef Haim Ashraf, a 28-year-old Israeli Occupation Forces commando unit reservist, was found dead Thursday in Switzerland Forest near Tiberias in an apparent suicide, local media reported. The IOF Military Police believes he took his own life by detonating a grenade. Ashraf had recently served with the 99th Division in the Gaza Strip and was part of a newly formed unit involved in recent military operations. The IOF said the Military Police Investigation unit has opened an inquiry into the circumstances of his death. According to official IOF data, suicides among soldiers on active duty, both regular and reservists, have increased since the start of the war. From October 7, 2023, to the end of that year, seven soldiers committed suicide, and in 2024, 21 soldiers took their own lives. This year, 18 soldiers on active duty have died by suicide, including Ashraf, marking the 17th confirmed case within the IOF this year. The 'Israeli' army has continued its operations in Gaza since October 2023, amid international calls for a ceasefire. The conflict has resulted in over 61,700 Palestinian deaths, described by some as the second year of genocide in the enclave.

Gaza's Zeitoun neighborhood under 'Israeli' assault for fifth consecutive day
The ''Israeli'' army confirmed on Friday that it has been conducting military operations for several days in the Zeitoun neighborhood on the outskirts of Gaza City. According to the army, the operations aim to locate explosives, eliminate what it described as "armed militants," and destroy military infrastructure both above and below ground. In a statement on Telegram, the army said its forces targeted and dismantled a booby-trapped building used to store weapons. Militants fired an anti-tank missile at 'Israeli' troops, but no soldiers were injured. The 'Israeli' Air Force also carried out airstrikes in coordination with ground forces, allegedly targeting military sites and militants in the area. The army stated it would continue operations in Gaza to "eliminate any threat against settlers," according to its claims. Over the past three days, the 'Israeli' military has demolished more than 300 homes in Zeitoun as part of its ongoing occupation plan. Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Gaza, said the army has deliberately targeted civilian residential areas, particularly buildings with five floors or more. Due to the explosives used, surrounding structures have also been destroyed. The neighborhood has been under a wide-scale 'Israeli' assault for the fifth consecutive day, including air and artillery strikes, home demolitions, and nightly bombing campaigns. The attacks have reportedly killed dozens of civilians, including women, children, and entire families who remained in their homes at the time of the strikes, without prior warning. The military operation in Zeitoun involves intermittent ground advances and frequent troop repositioning. Some multi-story buildings have been flattened while civilians were still inside. Large numbers of residents have fled to central and western parts of Gaza City, while others remain trapped in dangerous areas that are difficult for medical and civil defense teams to access due to the intensity of the bombardment.

Iran hacked former ‘Israeli' Justice Minister phone during June war: Hebrew media
Iranian operatives successfully hacked the phone of former 'Israeli' Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked during the 12-day war in June 2025, according to Hebrew media reports. The breach, which was part of Tehran's ongoing effort to spy on current and former 'Israeli' officials, compromised Shaked's Telegram account. Sources close to Shaked said the hack was carried out after she clicked on a malicious link, a classic social engineering tactic. Although the Shin Bet, 'Israel's' internal security service, informed her of the breach approximately two weeks after it occurred, her associates reported that the Telegram account was "empty" and did not contain any sensitive information. The incident was not an isolated event. Shaked had been a persistent intelligence target for years. She was personally warned by then-Shin Bet director Nadav Argaman in 2016 and 2017, while she was a sitting minister, that Iranian operators were attempting to monitor her phone conversations. Although she left office in 2022, she had indicated an intention to return to political life, making her a continued target for long-term intelligence gathering.
