Arsenal 19yo signs 2nd new contract in 9 months

Alexei Rojas has signed a new contract with Arsenal, his second in the space of nine months, as the club positions the 19-year-old for continued first-team involvement in the 2025/26 season.

At the start of April, journalists Pipe Sierra and Felipe Molina of AS Colombia reported that Rojas had extended his deal with a wage increase. Simon Collings of the Evening Standard has since confirmed the agreement, adding that the contract will run until June 2026.

Rojas signed his first professional deal last summer, five years after joining from Chelsea, and this new agreement underlines Arsenal's long-term belief in him.
While the precise terms of the previous deal were unclear, the latest extension formalises his status at the club for next season.

It's been a bit of a strange season for Rojas. The positives are that the youth player has effectively been Arsenal's fourth-choice first-team goalkeeper, behind David Raya, Neto, and Tommy Setford.
Rojas has regularly travelled to games with the team, and he made the bench for one match against Bolton Wanderers last September.

Yet even though Raya, Neto, and Setford were all absent for that League Cup game, Jack Porter got the nod to start over Rojas.
Porter has been involved with the first team much less often than Rojas, even after that debut, so it was an interesting call.

That decision to play Porter against Bolton means Rojas hasn't played any competitive minutes for any club team this season, including the Arsenal u21s. His only appearances have been a few games for the Colombia u20s on international duty.
But in a way, Rojas' lack of action with the u21s just emphasises that he's viewed as a senior player now. He may not be playing much, but nor is Neto. That's the life of a goalkeeper at times.

Mikel Arteta will be pleased to be keeping one member of his current goalkeeping group around for next season, with Neto ending his loan and Setford likely to go on a loan of his own.
Karl Hein is also likely to leave on another loan or permanent move if minutes aren't on offer in north London.
If Setford and Hein leave and Arsenal finally complete their desired move for Joan Garcia, Rojas would then seemingly become the third-choice goalkeeper next season.

Exclusive: Chelsea reject €30m bids for midfielder from Premier League teams

Chelsea are getting their squad sorted for the Club World Cup and next season, and that means a busy few weeks. Chelsea dealing with their loan army one by one Andrey Santos in Strasbourg training. There are transfers incoming – Liam Delap has been signed and various others are being strongly linked. But there's also the question of what to do with all of the players returning from loan. Advertisement It's felt like the giant squad of last summer was a problem of the past, but so many players who were 'out of sight, out of mind' are now back and will need to find a new home once again. Many of them – Raheem Sterling, Armando Broja, Lesley Ugochukwu, the list goes on – we expect to be sold. But there are others who feel like they have a strong chance of staying. Chief among that group is Andrey Santos. His second half of last season was impressive enough that there some some consideration of him staying for this season just passed, so after a brilliant 12 months on loan with Strasbourg, we're sure he's joining the squad. Chelsea reject €30m offers out of hand We've heard whispers about the club considering selling him, but our sources have told us exclusively that that's not on the cards. Verbal offers of €30m were rejected out of hand by Chelsea, who probably wouldn't even sell for double that. He's just joined up with the Brazil squad, hoping to add a second cap and another chunk of change to his value. It's not clear who those bids came from – but Arsenal, AC Milan, Juventus and PSG are all apparently interested. From what we can see, Santos looks ready to be a key part of our squad, and nobody is ready to make us an offer we can't refuse.

Juventus After Manchester United and Arsenal Target

Juventus have joined the race for Viktor Gyokeres, which has turned heads with his stellar performances with Sporting CP in the last couple of seasons. They have to battle at least a pair of Premier League giants, starting with Manchester United and Arsenal, Fabrizio Romano reports (via SOSFanta). The Bianconeri had been paying close attention to the marksman under their previous regime. The new one inquired as well. Cristiano Giuntoli had met his entourage in London a few weeks before getting the ax. The striker is likely to leave Portugal for €65/70M, but there could be room to negotiate on the formula. Advertisement Juventus haven't started bargaining for Gyokeres but are interested. Arsenal seem to prefer Benjamin Sesko at this stage. Manchester United, which are helmed by his former coach Ruben Amorim, are tracking him with the most conviction. He bagged 54 goals in 52 games in 2024/2025. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Red Devils are also keen on Victor Osimhen, who has declined a massive offer from Al-Hilal, which would have activated his release clause. They could dangle Joshua Zirkzee in the package. Our Take on Juventus and Gyokeres While the transition to a more competitive and defensive-minded league would be a question mark, he'd be pretty much the best they could get to address the position. However, it'd be surprising if they emerge victorious at those numbers and with two English powerhouses in the mix. They also have to sell Dusan Vlahovic first. Manchester United are the most logical landing spot for him, but he might prefer to play in the Champions League right away. Perhaps the Bianconeri shouldn't be discarded for Osimhen despite Giuntoli's ousting.
