"You are saying that it was done only to defeat the purpose of the judgement. Was the full court of the High Court aware that the CJI is likely to pronounce the judgment on May 20," the CJI asked.
The CJI clarified the verdict would apply prospectively to future judicial recruitments and does not disturb any selections that have already started.

Panchkula: In a landmark ruling, the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal in Panchkula has awarded a compensation of ₹1.17 crore to a 36-year-old man who suffered 100% disability after a horrific road accident while triple riding on a two-wheeler. The tribunal, presided over by District and Sessions Judge Ved Parkash Sirohi, held the car's driver, owner, and insurer jointly liable for the payout. The victim is also entitled to 6% annual interest on the compensation amount from the date of filing the claim until its realization. The accident occurred in the early hours of April 28, 2024, when Arun Madan was riding an Activa with Veer and Sitaram as pillion passengers. As they approached the Kalka-Shimla highway, a car driven recklessly by Amrinder Singh Dhiman of Sangrur allegedly came from the wrong side and rammed into the scooter. All three riders were injured, and the vehicle was badly damaged. Amrinder transported the injured to Civil Hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula. However, his run ended with a dramatic revelation on Wednesday — he is Punjabi singer Baaz Sran, who just two months ago released a song likening a 'Sarkari Kothi' (govt residence) to a jail. In an irony of sorts, the lyrics of the song 'Sarkari Kothi' — which has 13 lakh views on YouTube — go: 'Jattan di sarkari kothi hundi jail kuddey (The official residence of Jatts is jail, lady).' Sran, who has 32,600 followers on Instagram and has sung duets with female singers like Deepak Dhillon and Gurlez Akhtar, was arrested by the Chandigarh zonal unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with the alleged seizure of 36kg opium in 2015. Sran hails from Malikpura village in Haryana's Sirsa district. An official privy to the case said Baaz himself penned the lyrics and composed his songs. In May 2025, NCB published Jagsir's details in leading newspapers and announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for information leading to his arrest. 1 2 Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said Janmashtami would be celebrated at every police station and police training institute in the state on Aug 16.
