Our Yorkshire Farm's Reuben Owen suffers 'disastrous setback' after sharing major relationship update with fans
Tuesday's instalment of the Channel 5 show saw the young farmer celebrate his 21st birthday with a trip to Whitby.
Reuben, his girlfriend Jessica Ellwood and a group of his pals hopped on their tractors for a 100-mile trip to the seaside for his big day.
However it didn't exactly go to plan.
On the first day Reuben's vintage tractor started leaking, followed by a massive problem the next day of the trek as his vehicle broke down on the way as they travelled up a hill.
Reuben said: 'It's not gone well for the old lass, I think this could be her final...'
But his pal Tommy, who came to save him from the side of the road, said: 'I hope not! You might've killed it on its first run out. She was a good tractor.'
The voice over said: 'It's a disastrous set back on day two, at this rate, Ruben's chances of making it to his own beach birthday party are looking slim.'
To make matters worse it happened again later on.
Reuben had to be towed up a hill and his girlfriend Jessica said: 'It's really, really struggling, is Reuben's tractor.'
The voice over added: 'At this rate, chops on the beach tomorrow for Reuben are looking increasingly unlikely.'
Reuben said: 'I don't know what's wrong with it! The water pump can't keep up.'
Despite all the problems, they managed to make it to the seaside on their tractors.
It comes after Reuben shared a rare relationship update.
Reuben and Jess have been dating for just over a year - and it sounds like things are getting serious and would like to live together soon.
He told The Mirror: 'We're just waiting for something to come up.
'I've got to try and get a nice place, get a bit of a farm somewhere one day.'
He added: 'It would be ideal to have a farm where I can park my diggers and she [Jessica] can have her sheep and cows.'
Speaking about starting a family, Reuben said: 'I don't think I fancy nine of them, I don't fancy nine at all.
'We'll have to wait and see.'
Reuben shot to fame alongside his famous mum Amanda, 50, dad Clive, 70, and his eight other siblings on Our Yorkshire Farm.

Amanda recently shared an update on her teenage son Miles after revealing a medical emergency which saw him rushed to hospital in an air ambulance.

And on the most recent episode of Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales, which aired on Tuesday, shepherdess Amanda and her son visited The Great North Air Ambulance Service.
The pair reunited with the air ambulance service to thank them for their care of Miles at the time of his medical emergency as the teen opened up about the ordeal.
Speaking about the episode, Amanda took to Instagram on Wednesday night to share a collection of pictures of Miles from his time in hospital and update fans on his health.
'I am exceptionally proud of Miles in wanting to share his diagnosis with people, raise awareness and show that his Diabetes Type 1 doesn't hamper him or define him,' she wrote. 'LOOK AT HIM NOW.
'We are aware that many people played a part in @milesowen86 medical emergency. Behind the scenes as the whole scenario played out there were random acts of kindness from strangers.
'We all wanted to reach out and express gratitude to the people who made a positive difference on what must surely be one of the most difficult days that no one can ever be prepared for.
'To find yourself in hospital in only the clothes you were standing up in, unprepared and in shock.
'Then to be given a sideroom in which to sleep where on the bed there is a Pumpkin Parent Pack. A bag that had been filled with overnight essentials for anyone with a child in intensive care.
'When at your most fragile this kind of thoughtfulness is a blessed kindness.'
She continued: 'Also to Rangzaib who didn't flinch at taking me home, a four hour round trip from Middlesbrough to Ravenseat, on slippery roads, through ice and flurries of snow in his taxi for a nominal fee to cover fuel.
'He even went through drive through to buy me coffee ☕️. Not to mention ambulance control and crew.
'The helicopter pilot, �� the crash team �� & children's ward doctors and nurses at James Cooke. Hospital @nhsengland and our neighbour who brought the community defibrillator and was ready to use if required. These people are the best of the best.

'I am very proud of all of the family & how everyone pulled together.'
Amanda shared a sweet snap of her and Miles smiling as they sat in a car together, while in another he was seen back on the farm.

After spotting the helicopter in the sky, Amanda asked Miles: 'You don't remember any of it?'
To which Miles shook his head and told his mum: 'No.'
'It's bringing it all back for me even though it's not you!' Amanda told her son.
And just as the chopper landed, it all got too much for Amanda as she wiped away the tears from her face.
Amanda said: 'I'm not crying! I'm not crying!'

The mother and son duo were then reunited with Dr Rachel and critical care paramedic Mike, who helped Miles on the day and flew to Ravenseat Farm when it happened.
Amanda said: 'It's been a while hasn't it? Two years.
'Seeing you landing like that, it sort of brought it all back to me, really. Because, like I said, the last time I saw that land it was just like... you know.'
What is diabetic ketoacidosis?
Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is a serious complication of diabetes that occurs when your body produces high levels of blood acids called ketones.
DKA was first described in 1886 and, until the introduction of insulin therapy in the 1920s, it was almost universally fatal.
Today the risk of death with adequate and timely treatment is currently around one to four per cent.
Symptoms of a DKA episode include nausea and vomiting, pronounced thirst, excessive urine production and abdominal pain.
According to figures just four per cent of people with type 1 diabetes develop DKA each year.
Rachel asked Miles how he was getting on, to which he replied: 'Good, I was saying to mum, I can't remember it at all. I was so out of it.'
Dr Rachel told him: 'You look a lot better than the last time we saw you!'
Earlier on in the episode they replayed the call that Amanda and former husband Clive, 70, to the emergency services.
Recalling what happened, Miles said: 'I felt awful all day.
'I didn't know what was up with me.
'Maybe it was something I was eating, maybe it was a bug, something like that, and then I was sick, I didn't know what was going on.
'I just thought Everyone is suck now and again. It's one of those things.
'Went to bed with no tea...'
Amanda asked if he remembered waking up and he said: 'Vaguely.'
Clive admitted it was 'one of the worst days of my life'.
Speaking about what happened ahead of the episode, Amanda said on Instagram: 'Tonight's episode of Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales is a challenging one.
'It has taken until now to share what happened in December 2022 when there was a big medical emergency on the farm.
'Miles wanted to share what happened to him to hopefully raise awareness of Type 1 diabetes and Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) which is a potentially life-threatening acute complication.
'Do tune in at 8pm on Channel 5 for an uplifting glimpse of how in difficult circumstances and locations individuals can change the narrative of a story and save lives.'

Amanda and ex Clive are not just parents to Miles. The former couple, who split in 2022 after 22 years of marriage, are parents to nine kids.
They are also proud parents to Raven, 23, Reuben, 21, Edith, 16, Violet, 14, Sidney, 13, Annas, 11, Clemmy, nine, and Nancy, eight.
The family shot to fame on Our Yorkshire Farm back on Channel 4, which aired between 2018 and 2022.
Spin-off Our Farm Next Door landed on our screens last year and has already had two series.

Aikines-Aryeetey, known for his alter-ego Nitro, was the first celebrity revealed to taking part in the new series, after competing on the Christmas Special last year. His involvement was revealed in a prank to CBBC Newsround viewers, after the BBC had previously said the first stars taking part would be revealed much later in the day. Flexing his reputation as a star of Gladiators: Epic Pranks, Aikines-Aryeetey, 36, appeared live in the Newsround studio disguised as 'world-famous choreographer Nicky Trott', there to talk about his recent work on a scientific study into the benefits of dancing. His disguise was not enough to fool Newsround presenter Jenny Lawrence though, who quickly rumbled who she was really talking to. Aikines-Aryeetey then gave the real reason he was there: to tell the world he's taking part in the new series of Strictly Come Dancing! Aikines-Aryeetey is an Olympian, multi-gold-medal-winning Team GB sprinter, and star of Gladiators. As a sprinter he has competed at the highest level in the UK since his youth, becoming the first athlete to win gold medals at both 100 and 200 metres at the World Youth Championships, and winning the 2005 BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award aged 17. Aikines-Aryeetey has gone on to win gold in the 4x100m relay at the European Championships and at the Commonwealth Games. He has competed in two Olympic games and is a three-time European Champion and two-time Commonwealth Champion. In 2023, Aikines-Aryeetey was unveiled as Nitro in the hit BBC series Gladiators, and he took part in last year's Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special partnered with Nancy Xu. On joining Strictly Come Dancing, Aikines-Aryeetey said: 'After the Christmas Special, it was so nice I just had to do it twice! I'm so excited to be part of the Strictly family this series and I'm ready to give it all I've got. 'I'll be bringing tons of energy to light up the dance floor. Let's hope I'm as quick picking up the routines as I am on the track.' On Sunday it was reported that Natalie Imbruglia and Delta Goodrem are 'in negotiations' to take part in the show. A new report suggested the two Australian stars are both in talks to appear while another former Neighbours star - Stefan Dennis - is also said to be in the running. A source told The Sun: 'Talks are at a point where things could go in a number of different directions but if both celebrities signed up then that would be seen as quite a coup for the show. 'Delta and Natalie would bring some glamour to the programme, and be some of this year's most eagerly anticipated competitors. 'If all three former Neighbours stars end up performing, the Strictly dance floor will end up looking more like Ramsay Street.' Strictly's new series has been hit by a string of scandals in the lead-up to its return, including revelations that the broadcaster had hired a law firm to probe allegations of drug taking by two individuals. One of the stars involved in the drugs probe was also suspected of drinking while working on the show after crew smelt alcohol on their breath. The Sun alleged that it was widely known that the pair, who have not been named, took the Class A substance, and that one of these Strictly performers was known for being a drinker. The publication have now reported that junior members of the team were asked to keep an eye on them during last year's show and to look for signs that they may have been boozing during work hours. Over the weekend, a staffer also claimed they were offered cocaine by one of the show's stars. He told The Sun: 'The main partying is on site at Elstree after filming of the live show has finished. Boozing and drug taking goes on until 3am, sometimes 4am. The smoking area outside is a hive of activity. Cocaine gets taken there'. He went on to claim that drug use was so common on the show, that when he found a suspicious bag of white powder, an unfazed senior producer told him to 'leave it on my desk' as the incident failed to raise even an eyebrow. The staff member also said the show's annual special filmed at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom was an especially 'big party night' full of debauchery. 'I was offered cocaine by a star at an after show party. Lots of people would go back to the hotel. It was a closed-off party, just for the cast and crew. It went on until 5am, even to 6am, it was insane. People were wired and you could see it in their eyes'. A BBC spokesperson told Daily Mail: 'We have clear protocols and policies in place for dealing with any serious complaint raised with us. We would always encourage people to speak to us if they have concerns. It would not be appropriate for us to comment further.' The shock allegations come amid a long period of controversy for the BBC and Strictly over the past year or so. In July last year, more than six months after quitting the show citing 'personal reasons', actress Amanda Abbington accused pro dancer Giovanni Pernice of 'unnecessary, cruel and mean behaviour' during their time dancing together on Strictly. Giovanni rejected the claims immediately, and a BBC investigation ruled in September that her claims of physical aggression and threatening behaviour were not upheld. When BBC bosses published their report into Giovanni's behaviour, it cleared him of the most serious allegations of physical aggression, but upheld verbal bullying and harassment. Complaints of verbal bullying and harassment meant the BBC issued an apology to Amanda, but Giovanni said he was 'pleased the report has not found any evidence of threatening or abusive behaviour '. Elsewhere, the show was plunged into crisis after Welsh opera singer Wynne Evans made a controversial joke during his time preparing for the Strictly tour in January. He used a vile sexual innuendo and was also caught up in a 'wandering hand' incident with dance partner Katya Jones , who seemed to remove his arm from her lower waist on the show. After the BBC launched an investigation into his conduct, bosses decided not to renew his radio contract for his show. The TV star confirmed in May that they will not be renewing his one-year rolling contract following a four-month investigation after the inappropriate comments made during his time on Strictly. Elsewhere, in further scandals for the BBC, Gregg Wallace was recently dismissed from MasterChef after more than 40 complaints against him were upheld following a BBC investigation. While his co-star John Torode was also sacked after two decades over allegations that he used the N-word, which he claims to have 'absolutely no recollection' of. In separate further controversy, it's recently been reported that Naga Munchetty could face an investigation from BBC bosses after she was accused of bullying a junior colleague. The BBC Breakfast host, 50, has been placed 'under review' while bosses consider escalating complaints to a formal investigation, The Sun reports. A source said higher-ups had heard from several colleagues and logged concerns over her 'hard' and 'bullying' behaviour on the breakfast show, as well as her Radio 5 Live show.

The English singer-songwriter, 28, had a very strong relationship with Ozzy, who he first met in 2022, and it appeared that their relationship grew into an almost father-son type bond. He also performed at the Black Sabbath star's farewell gig at Birmingham 's Villa Park in June, where he performed Changes and vowed to play it for Ozzy going forward. Completely shocked to hear of his death, Yungblud said he was texting Ozzy just before the rocker's son Jack Osbourne messaged him to say 'he's gone'. He told The Sun: 'The past couple of weeks have been very weird to connect with. You get to know someone personally, who you love. And then they leave. 'I was texting him, then his son Jack text me and sad "He's gone". I'm like, "What?"' Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, reportedly gave a touching reading at The Black Sabbath frontman's funeral, after his death aged 76 on July 22. Speaking about the emotional but warm service, Yungblud said he was overwhelmed with the amount of 'authentic love' in the room. He added: 'Being around the family and being at the funeral, the amount of love there. That family are real as f***. The dream is to have kids and a family like that. There's no gimmicks. It's authentic.' Earlier this month, Yungblud shared a picture of the gift the rocker gave him before he died, hours after he gave a reading at the funeral at his home in Buckinghamshire. He took to Instagram to share a close-up snap of the cross necklace Ozzy gifted him in 2022, during the filming of his The Funeral music video. Yungblud later returned the favour by gifting Ozzy a custom-made cross necklace before Black Sabbath's final show. He wrote in the caption: 'goodnight oz. your light will forever shine. I love you,' with fans noting in the caption that Ozzy has 'passed the torch of darkness on' to Yungblud.
