If the odds are any indication, the 2025 College Football Season should be box office.
Ohio State is the betting favorite to repeat as National Champions, but the Buckeyes are just one of five teams at Bet365 Sportsbook with odds between +500 and +800, and there are a further five schools at 20/1 or shorter.
One of the lessons from the first season with the expanded College Football Playoff was to brace for chaos, and the early betting board for the 2025 season feels chaotic.
Arch Manning and Texas are the second favorite to win the title at +550, just ahead of Georgia (+650), Oregon (+750), and Penn State (+800).
There's a jump after the Nittany Lions to Alabama, who are 14/1 to lift the trophy in Kalen DeBoer's second season in Tuscaloosa.
Notre Dame, last year's runner-up, is also sitting at 14/1.
Tennessee (18/1), Clemson (18/1), and LSU (20/1) round out the top 10 on the betting board.
A couple of teams outside the top 10 that will likely get some betting support will be South Carolina (40/1), Florida (40/1), Louisville (75/1), and Nebraska (125/1).
The Florida Gators could be a trendy dark horse in the SEC this season.

As we saw last year, there will be plenty of long shots who will contend for a spot in the College Football Playoff.
SMU, Indiana, Boise State, and Arizona State were all long shots before the season began, but provided their backers with quite the sweat before bowing out in the tournament.
A couple of teams who could get support to make it that far this year could be UNLV, Navy, and Tulane.

WATCH: Ohio State football player, staffer compete in three-point shooting contest
WATCH: Ohio State football player, staffer compete in three-point shooting contest In case you haven't noticed, the Ohio State football program is passing the time during a slow summer by competing in some "June Olympics." It's a competition of different athletic competitions between the OSU staff and the players, and so far it's been a hoot to watch it all go down. The staff got out to an early lead, but the players won three events in a row to take a 3-1 lead before the older guys trimmed the lead to 3-2. And now, after the latest event, a three-point shooting contest between OSU staffer Matt Guerrieri and wide receiver Bryson Rodgers, things are all tied up. That's because Guerrieri battled through some suspect shots to bury the one that mattered, giving the staff the win and even the competition at 3-3. If you missed any of the action, get a look at the cliff notes version of what went down on the courts of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. We're not sure when these June Olympics are over, or how many events there are, but it's fun to watch and keep up with, so we'll do our best to stay on top of it. We say, go old guys. LOOK: Recruiting film of Ohio State's latest commitment, Khary Wilder
LOOK: Recruiting film of Ohio State's latest commitment, Khary Wilder The Ohio State football team got another commitment for its 2026 recruiting class on Tuesday night when 4-star edge rusher Khary Wilder announced his pledge to the Buckeyes. It was Larry Johnson's first commitment in the class, one that OSU hopes will yield more top-tier talent on the defensive line. We track every Ohio State commitment as they happen, but we also like to grab game film and share some highlights of what the next batch of OSU recruits might bring to the banks of the Olentangy. Wilder is ranked as the No. 248 prospect in the class and 23rd edge player in the cycle according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, but if the Buckeyes wanted to lock him in, you can bet on them seeing even more than what the recruiting services see. Here's a look at Wilder's junior high school highlights thanks to the fine folks at Hudl. In the film, you'll see him play both on the edge and on the interior, but he'll more than likely be developed as a defensive end at Ohio State. The ability to get off the ball with a quick first step is evident on the film. We'll continue to keep tabs on what Ohio State is doing as it lands more commitments in the 2026 class, so check back often to stay up to speed on what should be another dynamite crop of players. Ohio State 2026 Big Ten baseball schedule released on Wednesday
Ohio State 2026 Big Ten baseball schedule released on Wednesday It was nowhere near the baseball season the folks around Ohio State were hoping for. The Buckeyes finished 13-37 overall and won just five of 30 Big Ten games. OSU did get an 11-10 walk-off win to end head coach Justin Hare's first season, but it was one of transition and uncertainty. Hopefully, next season is a much better one. The College Baseball World Series might be just now getting underway in Omaha, but that didn't stop the Big Ten from releasing the 2026 Big Ten baseball schedule on Wednesday. We won't get into all eighteen teams and who they will play, but we assume you are interested in what the conference schedule looks like for the boys next season. Here's how it all lays out for next spring. All dates and series are three-game sets: Friday, March 6 through Sunday, March 8: vs. UCLA (Columbus, OH) Friday, March 13 through Sunday, March 15: at Washington (Seattle, WA) Friday, March 27 through Sunday, March 30: at Minnesota (Minneapolis, MN) Friday, April 3 through Sunday, April 5: vs. Maryland (Columbus, OH) Friday, April 10 through Sunday, April 12: vs. Penn State (Columbus, OH) Friday, April 17 through Sunday, April 19: at Purdue (West Lafayette, IN) Friday, April 24 through Sunday, April 26: at Rutgers (Piscataway, NJ) Friday, May 1 through Sunday, May 3: vs. Nebraska (Columbus, OH) Friday, May 8 through Sunday, May 10: vs. Michigan State (Columbus, OH) Thursday, May 14 through Saturday, May 16: at Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI) The nonconference part of the schedule has yet to be released. That will come to a media outlet near you at a later date. When it does, we'll bring it to you.
