MCD tightens rules for issuing instant health trade licences
New Delhi: Municipal Corporation of Delhi has made the guidelines for issuing instant health trade licences more stringent following instances of misuse by people or issuance of certificates for non-conforming areas. The updated norms make it mandatory for the submission and approval of all documents before downloading the licence. Any incorrect information will result in strict action such as sealing of the premises, along with a fine, decided by the competent authority on the basis of the gravity of the case. The norms also state that if the instant health trade licence is generated by the applicant for a trade in a non-conforming area, it will be treated as void from the date of its generation. If the licence is generated without submitting documents, a deficiency will be immediately raised by the regulating official for rectification by the trader. "While the instructions are given on the procedure for generating an instant health trade licence through the MCD portal for designated health trades, traders are required to apply after understanding the requirement and uploading all mandatory documents. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo The applicant shall pay the required processing, registration and licence fees online and take a printout of the licence certificate," said an official. The licensees must also check the status of the generated instant licence on the portal through their login and comply with the required rectifications. The failure to comply with the norm leading to any adverse outcome will be the sole responsibility of the licensee. "If any incorrect trade licence is generated due to misrepresentation of facts, concealing of facts or wrong information supplied by the trader, the rejection-cum-revocation of the certificate will be made, and the instant licence will be forfeited," stated the official order issued by the municipal health officer. An MCD official said the type of activities allowed in commercial areas is specified in Master Plan of Delhi. "Activities such as eating joints are not allowed in residential areas, but are permitted in mixed land use areas. Gyms are, however, allowed on the ground floor of residential and mixed land use areas," he pointed out, adding that it would be better if people obtain clarity on these norms before applying to avoid inconvenience later. "While our staff are now checking 20% of the applications, we have decided to intensify the process," the official said.
