GM of South Western Railway inspects Birur-Talaguppa section in Karnataka
As part of the inspection, he visited Shivamogga Town railway station and reviewed its redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. He interacted with track maintainers and assured them of improving their working conditions. The GM also inspected the coaching depot at Koteganguru. Infrastructure facilities at the depot are currently being upgraded to meet growing demands.
Later, the GM stopped at Arasalu railway station, and visited the Malgudi Days Museum. The museum is a homage to writer R.K. Narayan, based on whose writing, actor Shankar Nag directed the television series Malgudi Days.
The GM also reviewed station development works at Talaguppa.
He was accompanied by Mudit Mittal, DRM of Mysuru Division, Pradeep Puri, Chief Engineer (Construction); and other officers of Mysuru Division.

Manapparai railway station to get complete makeover by October
The modernisation work at Manapparai railway station in Tiruchi district taken up under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) is expected to be completed by October. A separate sanction has been accorded for the construction of a foot overbridge at Manapparai station for which fund allotment has been provided by the railway administration. The Manapparai railway station which comes under the NSG 5 category falls along the Tiruchi - Dindigul broad gauge section falling under the jurisdiction of the Madurai railway station. It was one among the 17 stations in Madurai Division identified for giving it a complete makeover. Railway sources said a host of works were taken up under the ABSS at Manapparai station of which four of them have already been completed. Works pertaining to provision of lifts at platform 1 and 2, covered car and two-wheeler parking lots, compound wall and provision of integrated passenger information system have all been completed. Other works such as improvement to circulating area, construction of waiting hall, entrance arch, pathway cum drainage and establishment of canopy were under different stages. The sources further said construction of a six-metre wide foot overbridge has been accorded separate sanction at the station. A separate agency has been entrusted with the task of constructing the foot overbridge at a cost of ₹4.83 crore. The modernisation work at Manapparai is being executed at a total cost of ₹10.5 crore adding that the project being executed by the Gati Shakti Unit of Madurai Division was expected to be completed by October. In Pudukottai The ongoing modernisation work at Pudukottai railway station is expected to take more time for completion. The project includes construction of a new station building and facade, provision of lift, separate parking lots for cars and two-wheelers, entrance arch, platform shelter and waiting hall. The sources said the ongoing works are expected to be completed by March 2026.

SCR General Manager Inspects Dhone–Kacheguda Section; Reviews ABSS Redevelopment Works and Safety Measures
Gadwal: Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager of South Central Railway (SCR), conducted an extensive inspection of the Dhone–Kacheguda railway section under the Hyderabad Division on Friday. Accompanied by Lokesh Vishnoi, Divisional Railway Manager (Hyderabad Division), and other senior officials from the Headquarters and Division, the inspection covered key stations and infrastructure along the route. The inspection commenced with a rear window inspection of the Dhone–Kacheguda section, during which Srivastava closely examined safety measures related to track maintenance, bridges, and signaling systems. At Kurnool City Railway Station, the General Manager reviewed passenger amenities, station facilities, and the circulating area. He also took stock of the redevelopment works underway as part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS). During his visit to the Coach Mid Life Rehabilitation (CMLR) Workshop in Kurnool, he reviewed safety protocols and operational efficiency. Srivastava then visited Jogulamba Railway Station, inspecting the waiting hall and other passenger amenities. He also assessed the progress of ABSS redevelopment works at the station. The Gadwal Railway Station was another key stop, where he evaluated both the redevelopment efforts under ABSS and the adherence to safe working practices at the construction site. At Mahbubnagar Railway Station, the General Manager conducted a detailed review of station amenities and facilities, interacted with staff members, and examined the pace of the ongoing ABSS redevelopment works. He emphasized the importance of maintaining safety standards at all worksites and directed officials to accelerate progress to meet the project deadlines. During the inspection, representatives from trade unions met Srivastava and submitted their suggestions and demands related to future rail development in the region. He also engaged with media personnel, providing updates on the various infrastructure and passenger-centric projects currently being implemented across the South Central Railway zone.

SWR's Mysuru Division DRM inspects Hassan-Bantwal railway section
Mudit Mittal, Divisional Railway Manager, Mysuru Division, South Western Railway, conducted a comprehensive window trailing inspection on Thursday covering the Hassan–Sakaleshpur, Sakaleshpur–Subrahmanya road, and Subrahmanya road–Bantwala sections. The inspection aimed at reviewing the safety and maintenance standards of track infrastructure, signalling systems, and operational preparedness along the route. Special emphasis was laid on the condition of track parameters, bridges, curves, and gradient sections in the ghat region between Sakaleshpur and Subrahmanya Road. The DRM also reviewed the progress of ongoing station redevelopment works at Sakaleshpur, Subrahmanya Road, and Bantwala stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS). These redevelopment efforts focus on enhancing passenger amenities, station aesthetics, and overall travel experience. Mr. Mittal interacted with on-site engineering teams and instructed officials to ensure adherence to project timelines and maintain high standards of quality and safety during the execution. He was accompanied by Anand Bharti, chief project manager, Gati Shakti Unit, and other senior officials from the division, a release from the division said.
