Boy, two, accidentally kills his mother with his father's gun while playing with it in front of them
This is the horror moment a two-year-old child accidentally shoots his mum dead after picking up his dad's gun in front of his parents and starting to play with the weapon.
Video footage of the sickening incident showed the boy grabbing the firearm from a table and fooling around with it for a few seconds before pulling the trigger as his mum turned to look at him.
The couple appeared to be so deep in conversation they failed to notice their son had the Glock 9mm pistol in his hands until it was too late.
The victim was shot in the chest and arm, and initially seemed to have survived the shooting and stood up to examine her wounds in a state of shock as the youngster dropped the gun and ran towards her.
But as her husband assisted her before going to retrieve the weapon from the floor and the little boy walked away, she followed the youngster and fell to the ground dying.
The 27-year-old woman has been named locally as Deborah Rodrigues Monteiro and pictured in Brazilian media.
Police have confirmed her farmer husband, who had a licence for the weapon, will face manslaughter charges but will remain a free man while the investigation against him continues. It was not immediately clear if he would continue to be able to look after his son or whether the youngster would be taken into local social service care.
The incident happened on Friday night in the small town of Rio Verde de Mato Grosso in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul.
The horror sequence of events was captured on the couple's own home camera which looked onto the veranda where the family were relaxing. The couple appeared to be so deep in conversation they failed to notice their son had the Glock 9mm pistol in his hands
Local police chief Danielle Felismino confirmed the gunshot victim had been taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The weapon she was killed with and ammunition has been seized by detectives.

Mother-of-four who died while skydiving ‘just trying something new'
The son of a woman who died while skydiving said she was 'just trying something new' when his family lost her. Mother-of-four Belinda Taylor, 48, from Totnes, Devon, and Adam Harrison, 30, from Bournemouth, Dorset, died in the area of Dunkeswell Aerodrome, Devon, at about 1pm on Friday. Ms Taylor's son Elias Baaklini, 20, a business student from Acton, west London, told the PA news agency: 'She was a very caring woman, always supporting no matter what it was. 'She didn't care as long as you were happy, we all loved her a lot and she will be very missed. 'She was a very positive woman as well, she liked to do exciting things so it's just a tragedy that she went off to have fun, do something she'd never done before, experience something new and we lost her.' Mr Baaklini said he was in Exeter, Devon, with his two older brothers on Friday to celebrate one of their birthdays. He added: 'We don't know too much about what's happened but I think when you go on these types of things it's not what you're expecting, especially now with the safety measures they have, it's such an unlucky thing to happen. 'We just want to know what happened, the cause of it.' Restaurant owner Bachir Baaklini, 46, who has two children with Ms Taylor, including Elias, said his family want 'justice'. He went on: 'We need to find out what caused this so no one else dies the same way as she died. 'It's a shock, Friday and Saturday we were just constantly in tears, you don't think it's a true story.' Mr Baaklini, paying tribute to his ex-wife, said: 'She was a very funny human being. She was a very, very good mum. She was a nice lady. We are a close family.' In a statement issued on Sunday, SkyDiveBuzz Dunkeswell said it was 'heartbroken' by the incident and was fully co-operating with the investigation. It said: 'We are heartbroken to confirm that an incident occurred on Friday, resulting in the tragic loss of two lives. Our deepest condolences go out to the families, friends, and everyone affected by this devastating event. 'As per standard procedure, the relevant authorities were contacted immediately, and the appropriate investigation protocols were initiated without delay. A British Skydiving Board of Inquiry will now investigate the accident. 'Once complete, a report – including conclusions and any recommendations – will be submitted to the coroner, the police, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the British Skydiving Safety & Training Committee (STC), and other relevant bodies. 'Safety is, and always has been, our top priority. We are fully co-operating with the investigation and continue to uphold the highest possible standards in everything we do. 'No further details will be provided at this time. We respectfully ask for privacy for all those affected, including our team, during this incredibly difficult time.' The Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that it was aware of the incident but could not comment further due to the ongoing investigation. A spokesperson added: 'We will work closely with the relevant authorities to understand what happened and are awaiting the report into the incident.'

Illegal migrant killed two people while on bail from detention centre
An illegal migrant killed two people during a car rampage after being bailed from an immigration detention centre, a court has heard. Albanian Emiljano Kasaj failed to attend mental health appointments for almost a year before he used his Mercedes to deliberately kill pedestrian Leo Moran and cyclist Joel Carriedo in Coventry in September 2023. Warwick Crown Court was told 'nothing was done' by the Home Office while he breached his bail conditions repeatedly. Kasaj pleaded guilty in March this year to one count of attempted murder and two counts of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. His sentencing hearing on Monday was shown graphic CCTV footage of 44-year-old Mr Moran being struck in Gosford Street, while another passer-by was knocked into a building and suffered a head wound. Other footage, presented to the court by prosecutor Peter Grieves-Smith, showed the car driving off at speed with a smashed windscreen, and later travelling towards hospital worker Mr Carriedo, a father of two. The NHS worker, whose bike was split in two by the impact, died of chest injuries after being struck head-on and knocked over a wall in Woodway Lane, Coventry. Opening the facts of the case against Kasaj, of no fixed address, Mr Grieves-Smith told High Court Judge Mr Justice Choudhury that Kasaj then struck a house around 300 metres away and was arrested almost an hour later in a nearby garden. The court heard Kasaj had used a false name and address to register the vehicle. Mr Grieves-Smith told the court that psychiatrists had diagnosed the defendant as suffering from a paranoid psychosis linked to schizophrenia - with him telling experts he believed he had to kill because he was being blackmailed. The prosecutor said of the defendant: 'Born in July 1990, he is an Albanian national with no previous convictions or cautions. 'He told the defence psychiatrist that having left school he worked at a car wash and then travelled to Athens to find work. He came to the UK about two years prior to the offences and settled in Coventry.' The court heard that Kasaj also said 'he came to England for a better life' and was in 'in the UK illegally' but did not claim benefits. Mr Grieves-Smith told the court: 'The police made inquiries about his status. Checks with Albanian authorities show he left Albania in January 2022. 'He was arrested for immigration offences in August 2022 as he had made no attempts to register and he was detained in order to be removed. 'He said he had been trafficked into the country in the back of a lorry.' The court heard Kasaj was held at Harmondsworth Detention Centre in west London and attended a hospital during that period, although the visit was not related to his mental health. On October 7 2022, the court heard, Kasaj was bailed to an address in Newfield Road, Coventry, with 'a condition to sign on' at the Solihull Immigration Centre on December 5. Mr Grieves-Smith continued: 'He failed to appear for this and all other appointments. 'So at the time he committed these offences he was subject to bail conditions imposed because of his immigration status. He was in breach of them but nothing was done about it by the Home Office.' Psychiatric evidence presented to the court showed that Kasaj suffers from 'a major mental illness, the most likely diagnosis being schizophrenia', which may have been aggravated by use of cannabis or cocaine in the weeks before the incident. Kasaj, who appeared in the dock alongside an interpreter and several mental health nurses, is due to be sentenced later on Monday.

Celebrity dog trainer's assistant is KILLED in freak 'accident' during filming of promo video involving gun
A Washington State aspiring dog trainer was shot and killed by his celebrity boss while filming an advertisement. Curtice Gordon, 23, was killed on June 3 while working at the Kraftwerk K9 German Shephard training facility, reported The Chronicle. His boss, Wayne Curry, 64, has been charged with manslaughter after allegedly shooting Gordon while they were recording a promotional video. Thurston County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of a person who had been shot around 10:28 a.m. Investigators determined a group of individuals had been filming training videos involving gunfire. 'During this activity, one of the handlers fired a weapon loaded with live ammunition,' the sheriff's office said. 'Tragically, [Gordon] was struck by a round and died as a result.' According to a court affidavit, first responders found Gordon not breathing and suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. He was pronounced dead at the scene. '[Gordon] was struck in the face near his nose by a stray round from Wayne's weapon and lost his life as a result,' the document said. Investigators stated that the incident occurred during a video and photography shoot for an advertisement for Kraftwerk K9 that Curry had organized. Gordon, who was a manager at Kraftwerk K9 and regularly appeared in ads, was tasked with 'agitating the dog, using a whip for noise and wearing a bite sleeve,' according to the affidavit. Curry allegedly wanted to show that his dogs would not react to gunfire and directed Gordon to about 30 feet to the left of a target he shot at. '[Curry] said in the video, the dog is supposed to bark in a certain direction, and he'd shoot the target in a different direction, and then the dog would go and bite the guy with the sleeve,' prosecutors said. Court documents state that, 'At one point, the dog reacted from a down position to standing and jerked Wayne's body as he was handling the gun. The next thing everyone knew, they heard a groan from Curtice, and he collapsed.' Curry allegedly told investigators, 'When he saw Curtice drop, he said he wasn't sure if he did it to fake it because they were making a movie.' Thurston County prosecutors charged Curry with manslaughter, claiming he acted recklessly by using live rounds in the demonstration. According to the affidavit, Curry denied having any intention of hurting his employee. His heartbroken mother, Mandy Gordon, told local news station KING 5 her son dreamed of becoming a dog trainer. 'He was literally perfect if you're going to make a man. A provider, a protector of women, children, and animals,' she said. 'This was not an accident. People can call it unintentional, but not an accident. When you drink and drive and kill someone, that's not an accident. You made a choice to do something that could harm someone else.' She said Gordon's fiancée, Leira Wilson, had warned her son to be careful during the shoot because Curry had a history of jokingly pointing weapons at people and dogs. '[Wilson] actually told him the night before, "Don't let him point that gun at you," said Mandy Gordon. 'She just kept telling him, "Be careful. Be careful."' Curry was released from jail on $25,000 bail and has an arraignment hearing scheduled for Tuesday.
