Look: Demi Lovato joins Jonas Brothers at their tour kick off
Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Demi Lovato surprised fans by joining the Jonas Brothers during their first show on the Jonas20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour in New Jersey Sunday.
Lovato, 32, had previously starred opposite Joe Jonas, 35, in the 2008 Camp Rock film and its 2010 sequel, and the pair performed songs from the movies, including "Wouldn't Change a Thing" and "This is Me," on Sunday.
Lovato and Joe Jonas briefly dated in 2010.
Brothers Kevin Jonas, 37, and Nick Jonas, 32, also appeared in Camp Rock.
Demi Lovato's husband, Jordan Lutes, cheered for his wife from off stage.
"Couldn't be more proud," he captioned a video he posted to social media. "I love you so much baby."
The tour celebrates both the group's 20th anniversary and their latest album, Greetings From Your Hometown, which arrived Friday. The album features collaborations with Dean Lewis, Switchfoot and Marshmello, and contains 14 songs.
"The main thing for us was about telling our stories over the last couple years.... and getting back in touch with our musical roots but also our literal roots in New Jersey," said Joe Jonas on Today Friday.
The tour runs through Nov. 14.

'What's Happening!!' star Danielle Spencer dies at 60
Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Former actor Danielle Spencer died Monday at age 60, CBS 6 in Richmond, Va., and The Hollywood Reporter confirmed. Spencer became a veterinarian in Los Angeles after graduating Tuskegee University in 1993. She practiced in Richmond since 2014 and played a veterinarian in the 1997 film As Good As It Gets. As a child actor, she played Dee on What's Happening!! From 1976 to 1979. She reprised the role in the '80s revival What's Happening Now! Her What's Happening!! co-star Haywood Nelson announced her death on Instagram and confirmed it to The Hollywood Reporter. "We celebrate Danielle Spencer and her contributions as we regret to inform her departure and transition from a long battle with cancer," Nelson wrote. "We have lost a daughter, sister, family member, 'What's Happening' cast member, veterinarian animal rights proponent and healer, and cancer heroine." Dr. Spencer was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014. She died at a Richmond hospital of cancer. Notable deaths of 2025 Astronaut Jim Lovell, commander of the ill-fated Apollo 13 mission to the moon, died August 8, 2025, in Illinois, his family announced. He was 97. Demi Lovato Says Performing With the Jonas Brothers Was 'Healing'
Before Demi Lovato became a household name in the music industry, the Grammy nominee started out as a triple threat on the Disney Channel. More specifically, she landed the breakout role of Mitchie Torres in the network's beloved Camp Rock movies alongside the Jonas Brothers in 2008 and 2010. 15 years after Camp Rock 2 dropped, the stars reunited on stage during the opening night of the Jonas Brothers' Greetings from Your Hometown Tour at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on August 10. Since it was the JoBros' hometown show, they pulled out all the stops as Demi joined them for not one, but two (!!!) Camp Rock duets, 'This Is Me' and 'Wouldn't Change a Thing.' Not even a full 24 hours later, Demi opened up about the special moment and all the emotions that came rushing for her during an August 11 appearance on the Chicks in the Office podcast. 'I wish I could have soaked it in a little bit more, but I was so focused on, like, 'What am I singing, the chorus or the verse right now?' I was so nervous that I was focused on just hitting my marks and doing the thing that I didn't really soak up the love,' the 'Fast' singer said of her reunion with Nick, Kevin, and Joe Jonas. She added, 'But seeing everyone and the reactions and everything just, like, filled my soul with warmth and love. It was incredible.' As for how it all came together, Demi revealed that Joe asked her to join him and his brothers on stage a week before the 'really important' performance. She went on to say that the experience was 'healing' for her, as it marked her first performance of Camp Rock songs with the band since they toured together in 2010. At the time, ABC News reported that she prematurely left the tour due to 'emotional and physical issues' following a physical altercation with one of her backup dancers. 'It was so healing for me, too. You know, we've been through so much together, all of us, the Jonas Brothers and I,' Demi explained, adding that they made an effort to hang out backstage and meet her husband, Jordan Lutes. She continued, 'It was really really great to, like, spend time with them. It was really cool. They came to my room, all three of them, and spent time getting to know my husband, which was really meaningful. And they just, you know, thanked me profusely for flying across the country to perform with them. And it was just so thoughtful. I felt so appreciated. And it was really healing for us. And I loved it.' Later during the interview, she shared that she recently watched the Camp Rock movies for the first time in a long time. 'I look at Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2 and even my albums—they're all scrapbooks for me,' she said, before candidly speaking about her mental health and addiction battles during the movies' production. 'I see a collection of memories that really fulfilled me and gave me so much life at a dark point in my life. I was kind of struggling when I was working on those projects, but those projects brought me so much joy,' she added. Demi and the Jonas Brothers have a long history that dates back to the 2000s, when they all climbed the Disney Channel ladder. Of course, they all starred in the Camp Rock flicks together, and the JoBros have writing credits on her debut album, Don't Forget. She also briefly dated Joe in 2010 and went on her joint headlining Future Now Tour with Nick Jonas in 2016.
