Two juveniles arrested after report of gun-involved dispute
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Henderson Police Department (HPD) says two juveniles were arrested on multiple charges after police responded to a dispute that allegedly involved a person with a gun.
HPD says officers were dispatched to a home in the 300 block of Ragan at 2:40 p.m. on May 26. Police say while investigating the incident, officers were told everyone involved knew each other and this was an ongoing issue.

Officers say during the incident, a physical altercation happened in front of the house. Police say following the altercation, two juveniles went into the house. Reportedly, the juveniles came back out with handguns and threatened to shoot one of the victims. One of the guns was described as having a drum style ammunition magazine. HPD says the two then went back inside.

Police say the victims met the officers at a nearby location and provided video footage of the incident. Officers say they went to the house and detained the two juveniles without incident. HPD says the homeowner arrived and gave their consent to search the house. During the search, officers say they located two handguns and a drum style ammunition magazine. Both juveniles were taken into custody.

Germain Salim with the Department of Transportation Services (DTS) told KHON2 that roughly 40% of traffic fatalities in 2025 (up to May 30) have been pedestrians. Most of those pedestrians are elderly men, Salim said. Salim reminded drivers that it's illegal to hold a cell phone or be on one while driving. She also said it's illegal to park in front of or behind a crosswalk or corner. 'On our side, we're trying to… create better zones for sidewalks and for vehicles to be able to see ahead, behind,' Salim said. 'We're trying to improve our intersections, we're working with our state partners at the Department of Transportation, but… the main thing right now is we've got to slow down.' Salim also said that the city has been working on its , which was implemented in late 2024 and aims to have zero traffic fatalities by the year 2040. 'It's a huge commitment, and it's really the only goal we could aim for because we cannot say that any number is OK,' Salim said. Chicago pastor leads public prayer for city's safety and fallen CPD officer
CHICAGO — In a parking lot off 87th Street and the Dan Ryan Expressway, you'll find a weekly gathering in the summer where the community is invited to pray. 'This is my sixth year coming out here every Monday in between Memorial Day and Labor Day to pray for the city, pray for the violence,' Pastor Donovan Price said. Price leads the sessions in a welcoming setting where even his shoes send a message to walk by faith. 'Because we know prayer has some power. Prayer changes things,' he said. During this week's prayer, the group honored the life of fallen Chicago police officer Krystal Rivera and prayed for the safety of the Chicago Police Department. Fallen CPD officer remembered for courage and compassion by loved ones and colleagues 'When an officer is killed, then a member of the family has been lost. A pillar of the community has been lost,' Price said. Rivera, four-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department, was killed after another officer unintentionally shot her during a call on the city's South Side last week. 'We're praying for peace, for her family's heart and spirit. We're praying for some level of understanding for her daughter. We're praying for her partner that he might have some peace,' Price said. 'And there's part of us that should be praying for those who caused this situation in the first place.' MOUNT GILEAD, Ohio (WCMH) – The parents of fallen Morrow County Deputy Daniel 'Weston' Sherrer issued their first public comments since their son was killed during a shootout on Memorial Day. The sheriff's office on Monday released the statement on behalf of Dan and Julie Sherrer, who expressed gratitude to all who reached out to the two of them as well as their daughter and Daniel's fiancée. They thanked the Morrow County community and law enforcement for bringing them comfort during their time of grief. 'Please remember that just like our Weston, law enforcement officers protect us and encounter situations daily that most people fear,' wrote Dan and Julie Sherrer in a statement. 'Yet, they bravely persevere, sometimes making the ultimate sacrifice. Please continue to keep our families in your prayers.'
