Sultan Ibrahim attends Investiture ceremony to present federal awards
KUALA LUMPUR: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, today attended the Investiture ceremony at Istana Negara to present the 2025 federal awards, medals and honours that were conferred in conjunction with his official birthday.
It is the second investiture ceremony by His Majesty after being installed as the 17th King of Malaysia on July 20 last year.
On arrival, His Majesty, accompanied by Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, was greeted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
Their Majesties were then escorted to the Royal Dais to receive the Royal Salute by the Guard of Honour mounted by members of the First Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment (RAMD), led by Major Khairul Fakhzan Zainol Abidin and comprising three officers and 103 other ranks, at Dataran Istana Negara.
At the same time, the national anthem, Negaraku, was played by the RAMD Central Band and the Personal Flag of His Majesty was hoisted followed by a 21-gun salute carried out by the 41st Battery of the Royal Artillery Regiment.
His Majesty then inspected the Guard of Honor and upon completion of the inspection, His Majesty once again received the Royal Salute before the national anthem, Negaraku, was played.
Their Majesties were then escorted by Anwar and his wife to the Balairung Seri for the investiture ceremony.
A total of 116 recipients received the 2025 federal awards, medals and honours that were conferred in conjunction with His Majesty's official birthday.

The Pahang-born diplomat holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Ecology from Universiti Malaya, and has attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in the US. He started his career as an administrative and diplomatic officer (PTD) in the Foreign Ministry in 1988, and served as chairman of the Secretariat of the Foreign Ministry from Jan 6, 2019, to May 31, 2022. Throughout his 35 years in public service, Muhammad Shahrul Ikram has been posted as Ambassador to Qatar and Austria, as well as Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations in New York. While at the Foreign Ministry, he had served as deputy secretary-general (Bilateral Relations), director-general of the Asean-Malaysia National Secretariat (during Malaysia's 2015 Asean Chairmanship) and secretary of the Multilateral Political Division.

Dr Zaliha: JWP, agencies committed to implementing Kembara Diraja
KUALA LUMPUR: Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa has directed the Department of Federal Territories (JWP) and all agencies under it to coordinate the implementation of the Kembara Diraja (Royal Tour), as decreed by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia. In a statement on her Facebook page, she said the tour would provide an opportunity for His Majesty to personally engage with the people across the three Federal Territories and distribute zakat aid to those in need. Yesterday, Sultan Ibrahim announced that he would embark on the Kembara Diraja across the Federal Territories to observe the people's living conditions firsthand and distribute zakat to the poor and the eight eligible asnaf groups. His Majesty made the remarks during the 2025 Investiture Ceremony held in conjunction with his official birthday at Istana Negara yesterday. Dr Zaliha said JWP also fully supports His Majesty's emphasis on the need for civil servants to uphold the principle of Loyalty to the King and Country, which aligns with the Harmoni work culture introduced in the Federal Territories as a foundation for good governance. Heed King's call to build a safe, inclusive, and united Malaysia, says Lam Thye
PETALING JAYA: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia's call for unity is a powerful reminder that Malaysians are stronger and better when standing together as one people, says Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye. The Alliance for a Safe Community chairman said unity is the cornerstone of the nation's harmony, peace, progress and prosperity. 'It transcends political affiliations, religious beliefs and ethnic backgrounds. 'As Malaysians, we must never take for granted the harmony that has allowed us to thrive as a multiracial, multicultural society. 'His Majesty's call is a powerful reminder that despite our differences, we are stronger and better when we stand together as one people, united in our shared hopes and common destiny,' Lee said in a statement on Tuesday (June 3). He said the responsibility of fostering unity lies with every segment of society, but especially with those in leadership. 'Inclusive policies that protect the rights and dignity of all citizens, regardless of race, religion, or background must continue being implemented. 'National policies should be rooted in fairness and aimed at bridging gaps,' he said. Politicians, Lee said, also carry a moral obligation to promote messages of inclusion, tolerance and mutual respect.
