Lewis-Skelly, 18, signed his first senior contract back in October 2023, which expires next summer - and Spanish giants Madrid are reportedly monitoring the situation, having already snapped up Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool on a free transfer.
But SunSport understands the club are calm over talks, which began back in January, and hope to finalise the terms of his new bumper deal before pre-season begins next month.
New sporting director Andrea Berta is believed to be taking a hands-on approach with contract extensions, needing to tie down fellow Hale End graduates Ethan Nwaneri and Bukayo Saka, as well as William Saliba and Gabriel.
And boss Mikel Arteta said in April: 'The most energy we have to put in is making sure the players we have with us are happy, they feel valued, very much part of what we're doing."

Arteta views Lewis-Skelly as the future of the club, already making him his first-choice left-back after a stunning breakthrough campaign for the teenager that saw him make his Prem debut in September before scoring on his senior England debut in March.
Such is his faith in Lewis-Skelly, Arteta has let Kieran Tierney, 27, leave on a free back to Celtic this summer and is open to selling Oleksandr Zinchenko, 28, with Borussia Dortmund interested.
Lewis-Skelly – alongside his first team pal Nwaneri, 18 – has also never hid his love for Arsenal as a boyhood fan, and recently revealed his ambitions for next term.
Going five years without silverware and a third-successive second-place Prem finish, he said: 'We just want to win, to make that jump to win a trophy, back-to-back trophies.'

He continued: 'Without Hale End, we wouldn't be here. It's everything… the friendships, the values.
'I am a fan of the club, so I was growing up watching them on TV, going to the games. In your mind you're always wanting to get where [the first team] is at.'

Midfielder Nwaneri is also holding talks with Arsenal over an extension, having signed his first professional deal in March 2024, having worked his way through the academy from the age of nine alongside Lewis-Skelly.
Nwaneri is expected to receive a hefty rise in wages, as is Lewis-Skelly, having proved himself to be one of the most exciting teenage attackers in Europe.
Having made 37 appearances in all competitions this term – 16 of those starts – and scoring nine goals, Nwaneri has been happy with his involvement under Arteta, and trusts the Spaniard with his development.
However, there will need to be discussions over Nwaneri's role next year, both in terms of position and regularity, especially with Arteta targeting several attacking reinforcements this summer, currently linked to Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres, RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams.
During Bukayo Saka's three-month absence from December following hamstring surgery, Nwaneri deputised on the right wing, but can also play as a false nine and No10.
Despite the £51m midfield arrival of Martin Zubimendi, Arteta will view Nwaneri as an integral squad member whose flexibility and all-round ability is highly valued.

Man Utd target Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo after Matheus Cunha move agreed
The Red Devils have wasted little time starting Ruben Amorim's rebuild after the club's worst top-flight season in 51 years was compounded by their costly Europa League final loss to Tottenham. United's damaging defeat in Bilbao saw them miss out on Champions League qualification, yet a first campaign without European football since 2014-15 did not put off Wolves star Matheus Cunha. The Brazil forward's £62.5million move to Old Trafford is to be completed after international duty, when registration and visa requirements will be fulfilled for him to join on a five-year deal with an option for another season. Cunha scored 15 times in the Premier League last season and United are now pushing to bring in 20-goal Mbeumo from Brentford. PA understands the Cameroon international, 25, has expressed a desire to move to Old Trafford over other options and there has been informal contact between the clubs. United are ready to ramp up their attempts to bring in Mbeumo as they seek to strike another early agreement, but it remains to be seen how flexible Brentford are. A post shared by Bryan Mbeumo (@bryan_.m19) Mbeumo has a year left on his deal at the Gtech Community Stadium, with the option for another, and the Bees reportedly want a fee similar to the £62.5m Wolves received for Cunha. United's moves for proven Premier League players mark a change in tack, having tended to do business outside England's top flight in recent years. Mbeumo and Cunha would significantly aid a rebuild as the club navigate tight profitability and sustainability rules. Wide-ranging club restructuring under Ineos and a reduced wage bill through loans last season have helped on that front.

Adidas previously partnered with the Reds from 1985 to 1996 and 2006 to 2012. The new Liverpool home kit is nearly identical to the 2010-11 strip with a classic red and white design. With three iconic Adidas stripes on the shoulders and a thin white line down each side, the shirt has a simple style that will likely be loved by the Premier League champions. The club's new away shirt, meanwhile, is white with red detailing. In contrast to the home strip, the club badge is placed within a red crest. There is also a significant difference in the Liverpool badge on the third shirt. In a throwback to the 1980s, the third kit uses a retro club badge that was introduced 38 years ago. The shield crest was implemented in 1987 and was used for five years until 1992, the year of Liverpool's 100th anniversary. It is now being used on the club's third shirt for the 2025-26 season. Two proposed third shirts have also been leaked, the first being a bright orange with a black and gold strip. The other, however, is completely different to any shirt used in the Premier League before. The grey strip includes a rain drop pattern with the City badge central above the Puma logo. It also has bright green detailing. Fans have been left less than impressed with the proposed new shirt, with one person writing: "It was bad without the rain drops. Then they added the rain drops."
