Is Gen X Nostalgia Just Trauma-Bonding?
It's not that I mind opening Facebook and seeing photos of the cast of 'Diff'rent Strokes' or quotes from 'Seinfeld,' though I try not to click on them—you have to be careful not to encourage the algorithm. What bothers me is the mythmaking about how tough we Xers had it growing up, and how tough we became as a result.

Casetify cover puts the charm of centuries-old art on the AirPods Max
Apple's first over-the-ear headphones have stirred quite a polarizing debate over minimalist looks and a familiar brutalist industrial design language. You can't quite call them artsy, or a piece of art, for that matter. But if you've ever wished to give them such a makeover, casemaker Casetify went straight for the summit with its headphone cover. The company calls it 'Girl with a Pearl Earring Collectible Headphone Cover,' and has listed it at a sweet $199, enough to buy a pair of half-decent noise-cancelling headphones. The ambitions are so high that the accessory maker won't entertain any promotional coupons or discounts for this AirPods Max cover. It seems that sky-high premium for a fabric cover has little to do with any uber exotic fabric material or technical wizardry, and more about the inspiration behind it. To be specific, the cover is modeled after the famous 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' painting by famed Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer. Recommended Videos The fancy headphones cover borrows the signature blue cover and silky look from the 17th-century painting, and even has pearl earrings dangling from each side. It's quite a sight to behold, but I'm not sure if an average person would like to go out wearing them, unless their name is Rihanna or Mariah Carey, and the venue is a red carpet in Milan. This won't be the first such adventure of its kind for Casetify. The company recently collaborated with The Metropolitan Museum of Art and released cases featuring famous paintings from the collection, alongside the Jacques-Louis David 'The Death of Socrates' Limited Canvas Edition Premium Set Box. The company also launched protective gear in partnership with the National Museum of Korea, and hear me out, the Museum of Ice Cream. Interestingly, this won't be the first time that the brand has made cool headphone gear. The limited edition DRAGON BALL Z SCOUTER Collectible Headphone Case was quite a sight to behold. Take a look: The latest AirPods Max cover from Casetify is part of a collaboration with The Mauritshuis Museum in The Hague. You can check out the entire collection featuring protective cases for iPhones, phone charms, and watch bands here. If art is not your thing, Casetify has also partnered with entertainment franchises such as Dragon Ball-Z, One Piece, Smurfs, Peanuts, Squid Game, Harry Potter, BMW, NBA, and more. Of course, K-pop, too. You can check out all the Casetify Co-Lab products on the brand's hub.

Kobe Peter 'Twoey King' Nguyen was accused of vaping in the bathroom by the air hostess during a trip from Phoenix to San Francisco on Aug. 4, leading to a heated confrontation between the two. Nguyen shared a video of the interaction on his Instagram, and now says he is facing a severe response from people online. In the Instagram video, Nguyen, whose bio states that he's a celebrity pickleball coach and agent, claimed that the woman put her hands on him after catching him smoking on the flight. 'Airline attendant forcibly opens bathroom door on passenger," he wrote across the screen of his video. Speaking in the clip, the flight attendant told Nguyen that it is a "hazard" to smoke while on board the aircraft. In response, Nguyen accused the woman of trying to open the lavatory door while he was in there. 'I was actually sitting on the toilet and you were opening the door,' he said before apologizing. 'You can keep saying you're sorry, but I care about all these passengers," the woman replied, pointing to everyone else in the cabin. While Nguyen told the woman that he understood, things escalated when she noted that he was "recording." The flight attendant then appeared to try and grab his phone with Nguyen stating, 'You're not allowed to do that.' She just put her hands on me,' Nguyen continued as another flight attendant got involved. The other woman defended her colleague, noting that "she did not" touch Nguyen, but the influencer reinforced, 'Yes, she did. She put her hands on me. She tried to grab my phone.' 'I have a lawyer, I am a lawyer,' Nguyen said with authority. Both women then noted that if he had a law degree, he should know that he is not allowed to "smoke" on the plane. While the passenger apologized for vaping in the bathroom, he continued to tell the flight attendant not to touch him. ! As the woman continued to deny putting her hands on him, Nguyen warned them that he would share the video online. 'I have 25,000 followers that are going to watch this," he threatened. "Do you want me to release this or do you want to say sorry to me right now?" is now available in the Apple App Store! Download it now for the most binge-worthy celeb content, exclusive video clips, astrology updates and more! Trying to keep the peace, the hostess apologized; however, Nguyen insisted he would be calling the police once they landed. "You do not put your hands on a passenger!" he yelled. 'You assaulted me. She assaulted me," he continued while walking through the cabin. "This flight attendant assaulted me, everybody. She put her hands on me.' The video then ended with the woman telling the passenger to sit down as he continued to record her. In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, American Airlines confirmed that the San Francisco Police Department met the flight upon arrival and escorted a customer out of the concourse. 'A customer on American Airlines flight 2860 with service from Phoenix (PHX) to San Francisco (SFO) was removed from the aircraft upon arrival at SFO due to disruptive behavior,' the release read. 'We thank our customers for their patience and apologize for any inconvenience.' Nguyen, for his part, reiterated his original claims, telling PEOPLE that while in the "aircraft lavatory, a flight attendant forcibly unlocked and opened the door twice," after he "had clearly requested more time." While Nguyen admits to taking "one puff" of his vape while in the bathroom, he says the situation has been "deeply distressing — emotionally, professionally and financially." After posting the video, Nguyen says he has been receiving a barrage of negative comments, but insists the airline did not "blacklist" him or add him to a "no-fly" list, as many social media users suggested. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations prohibit smoking, including the use of electronic cigarettes, on board commercial airliners and can result in hefty fines, as it can lead to smoke, fire or extreme heat on aircraft, putting passengers at risk. It is considered a federal offense. Read the original article on People
