Jaipur: Jaipur boy Bhavya Jethanandani from Rishikul Vijay School in Malviya Nagar secured AIR 46 in JEE Advanced and is now aiming to study Computer Science engineering at
IIT Bombay
. He said the world will progress with advancements in science and technology and the JEE Advanced result is the first stepping stone for him.
"I always liked Mathematics and Physics, so engineering was a natural choice for me. Everything is dominated by Science and I want to contribute to this progress through my education. I started my preparation two years ago and focused on completing my daily targets instead of clocking in hours of studies. On most days, I could not complete my goals, but I stayed consistent," he said.
Also from Jaipur, Aryaman Dev Verma secured AIR 93. Verma started his preparation immediately after Class 10. With both parents working as IAS officers, Verma said it was his decision to go for engineering due to his love for core science subjects and mathematics.
"I always enjoyed Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and in Class 10 itself I decided that I will prepare for IIT-JEE," said Verma. tnn

'Be Consistent': How Mumbai's Sahil Deo Went From Rank 102 In JEE Mains To AIR 7 In Advanced?
Last Updated: JEE Advanced AIR 7 Sahil Deo also hails from a family of engineers. While his father is an engineer at Mahindra, his brother graduated from IIT Delhi and works at Goldman Sachs. 'Being consistent is the key", says 18-year-old Sahil Mukesh Deo who grabbed the seventh spot in the JEE Advanced 2025, the results of which were released on Monday. However, it was no mean feat for Sahil who was quite demotivated after his JEE Mains 2025 exams held in February and April. He had scored an All India Rank of 102. But it was his love for science and motivation by his teachers that kept him going. After securing more than 99 per cent in his 10th boards from Wisdom High International School, Nashik, Sahil, shifted to Mumbai in class 11 to prepare for the JEE Advanced. It was his love for computer applications that made him take up engineering. 'I have always been interested in science especially the application part such as computer science and mathematics. Coding is something that grabbed my attention. Hence CSE at IIT Bombay is a natural choice," the youngster said. He joined Narayana in class 11 for his JEE preparations. While Sahil scored 285 marks in JEE Main session 1, he got 270 marks in session 2. However, he proved that once you set your goals, nothing can stop you and made a comeback in the IIT entrance exam by securing 321 marks out 360 or AIR 7 in JEE Advanced. 'Mains did not go very well for me. The final rank was 102 and I had lost a lot of confidence after that. My teachers really motivated me. They had explained how JEE Mains and Advanced are different exams. Hence, I had to keep myself motivated," Sahil told News18. Talking about his preparation process, he said, 'While I kept no track of how long I studied, I would continue with my preparations at anytime I could. After returning home from classes in the evening, I would relax for sometime, watch some YouTube videos, and then get back to study. Again, take break during dinner time and go back study. It's more about consistency. It's the key. Study whenever you get the chance to and create those opportunities more often. Don't let it slip and think so now I can relax." He had also appeared for Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy Olympiads in 12th standard. 'I was also selected for the Indian National Olympiads in the second level however couldn't crack the third level as I did not really prepare for it," he said. Besides, Sahil also hails from a family of engineers. While his father is an engineer at Mahindra, his brother graduated from IIT Delhi and works at Goldman Sachs. His mother is a housewife. Devdutta Majhi, who made headlines by topping the West Bengal Madhyamik exams in 2023 and securing the 6th position in the Higher Secondary exams, has now achieved yet another extraordinary milestone. She has emerged as the female topper in JEE Advanced 2025, earning an impressive All India Rank 16 in the Common Rank List with 312 marks. She also topped the state of West Bengal and the IIT Kharagpur zone. Hailing from the IIT Kharagpur zone, she is one of the five students from the region to make it to the top 100. A student of Katwa Durgadasi Chaudhurani Girls' High School, Devdutta's consistent academic brilliance has now been stamped with national-level success. She chose to prepare from home, using online resources to clear her doubts and improve her understanding. She also regularly practiced through mock tests to sharpen her skills. Speaking to The Times of India, she said, 'I had a clear goal i.e. to crack JEE Advanced. I avoided all social events, family functions, and distractions to stay focused.' 'You need a proper study plan and consistent practice over two years. At the end of the day, self-study is the most effective tool,' she shared. What makes her achievement even more meaningful is the personal sacrifice that came with it. Devdutta, who used to love playing the violin, set it aside completely during her preparation. 'I didn't touch my violin for two years. It was something I loved deeply, but I knew I had to give it up. The only break I allowed myself was talking to my mother about my studies,' she said with a smile. After securing AIR 16 in JEE Advanced 2025 and emerging as the female topper, Devdutta now wants to get admission in the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. She wants to explore the world of artificial intelligence and robotics, especially in the field of research. The JEE Advanced 2025, conducted on May 18, saw 1.8 lakh candidates appear for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. Out of those, 54,378 students qualified, including 9,404 girls.
