Aldi shoppers fume as they spot viral Pilates machine on Vinted for double the price
Aldi's £150 pilates machine has caused chaos in stores are shoppers fight to buy the fitness device before it sold out.
While shoppers have been seen to be fighting over the viral Aldi Pilates machine, others have been left fuming as they notice some shoppers have decided to sell their machine for double the price. Normally at the bargain price of £149.99, some Vinted accounts have been seen to shoot the price as high as £400.
Pilates has been becoming a popular form of exercise over the last few years as Hollywood A-listers like Jennifer Aniston are known to enjoy the full body workout. As a workout that combines elements yoga, ballet, and gymnastics, many Brits are trying to hop onto trend.
However, this is not a cheap form of exercise to get into. Pilates classes are known to only hold a few spaces per session and those who want to try it out at home are having to break the bank to purchase a quality Reformer Pilates machine - which can retail anywhere between £2,000 and £6,000.
Knowing this, it can be understandable why many shoppers have jumped at the chance to get Aldi's Reformer Pilates Machine as it is retailed for the budget price of £149.99. However, with so many fitness fanatics racing to stores to snatch up the viral product, the machine is selling out in minutes.
On TikTok, user ash-reid spoke about the measures she went to try and secure a Pilates machine. Sitting in the carpark of her local Aldi's at 6am - the shop didn't open until 9am - she claimed she was "ready to go to war" to bag the bargain fitness machine.
The chaos in stores over the Reformer Pilates machine became so extreme that Aldi has had to implement a ticketing system.
A spokesperson from Aldi said: "We're sorry that some customers were unable to get their hands on this product, however, demand has been extremely high.
"To manage the expected demand, we operated a ticketing system, where tickets were handed out on a first-come, first-served basis.
"As with all Specialbuys, once they're gone, they're gone!"
While many shoppers have missed out on being able to grab one of the budget machines in the Specialbuy sale, some were shocked to find out that a few people who managed to win the 'Pilates machine battle' have decided to sell their machine on Vinted for more than double the price.
One Vinted user has been seen to price the " brand new" reformer machine at £341.93 with buyer protection (£324.98 without) albeit with some of Aldi's Pilates accessories included. Meanwhile, another seller going further by retailing the Aldi device, which appears to look older, suggesting that they could have bought it upon its first release last year, at £420.70 with protection (£400 without).
Both of these purchases come with Aldi's Pilates balls, while the second comes with an additional Pilates cushion and Pilates ring, which all retail for £5.99 each.
This has caused uproar with unsuccessful shoppers, with one person writing on X: "People who got the #Aldi Pilates Reformer and are selling them on Vinted for over double the price are scum, sub-human scum @AldiUK arrest them!"
Another person has taken to Reddit to express their disapproval of these sellers. They wrote: "I just need to say my peace.
"The ALDI Pilates Reformer machine went on sale this weekend, and very limited. I was very lucky to get the last one just 10 minutes after the store opened.
"It's absolutely awful that I'm seeing people who are already selling these machines for twice the amount they were in store. You're selfish and awful.
"There would have been people who could only afford the £150 they were on sale for, and there are people who cant afford studio classes. You're just horrible."
Another user commented: "I hate people like this. The same ones who purchased the wooden toys from Aldi only to sell them for three times the price. It's selfish and honestly just weird to me. I wish Vinted had a policy on this or enforced something but they never do lmao."
The author of the post went on to reply: "I did report one of the listing's just to see what would happen and yeah, there is no policy against it. Super annoying."
While many people have gone crazy over the Aldi Reformer Pilates Machine for its price, there are alternatives online that are around the same price or cheaper.
For example, Wowcher is selling a machine for only £49. Available in black, pink and purple, this reformer is selling fast, with over 2,300 products bought at the time of writing, as it has received a 51 per cent discount from its retail price of £99.99.
Alternatively, Amazon is selling a Pilates Reformer Machine for £89.99. This 5-in-1 fitness board gives shoppers a range of versatility for their work out, with the ab roller boasting a 22KG strong elasticity. The machine also comes with a built-in smart timer to help keep users on track.

Brits planning a staycation may want to head to one UK island where the beaches are so spectacular you could easily think you're actually in the Caribbean The UK is full of breathtaking beaches, but there's one staycation spot where the white sands and turquoise waters rival the shores of holiday hotspots like the Maldives or Caribbean islands. The white sands and crystal-clear waters could easily be mistaken for those from an exotic tropical destination, although visitors have warned that the cold waters can be a stark reminder that you're very much still in Scotland. (Pack a wetsuit if you are tempted to take a dip). On Tripadvisor, visitors who made the trek continue to be floored by how picturesque of a setting the beach is. One happy holidaymaker wrote: "10 out 5! This beach is Outstanding!!! I've never seen anything quite like it before. The views on the drive up to the car park are other-worldly. Beautiful turquoise water, soft golden sand that stretches for miles, grass covered dunes. There's a public toilet at the car park with a donation box, so that's helpful! The wind blew warm when we were there in early May, and it was so much warmer than the other end of the island we visited later the same day. As we were walking out we even got to see 2 highland cows sitting on the bluff overlooking the beach, chewing their cud." Another added: "Luskentyre beach is the most stunning beach I have ever visited, which is saying something, as I am in my seventieth year. When I first saw it my breath was literally taken away. It has beautiful sand and is never crowded. The sea is crystal clear and there are views across to Taransay." It's not the only awe-inspiring bit of coast on the island. Head over to Seilebost, a tiny village with a campsite that offers up some ridiculously gorgeous views of Luskentyre as well as boasting its own beautiful golden sandy shores. "As with all the beaches on Harris the views are magnificent," wrote one intrepid explorer. "Ample car parking beside the Old School and a short walk across the dunes to the beach. Long curved beach which had a calm lagoon area at low tide. Strangely the sand on this beach was much softer than all the others but still excellent for a long walk." Top tip: head over in the evenings in late spring and summer when the primroses flower for something extra Instagram-worthy! If you want to visit the Isle of Harris, you can do so by either ferry or air. According to Visit Scotland, there are daily car ferries from Ullapool on the mainland to Stornoway, the main town of Lewis and Harris. Meanwhile the port of Tarbert on Harris is linked to Uig on the Isle of Skye, which also has daily ferries between the two. If you want to fly, the island does have an airport which is served by Loganair, with flights from the likes of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness, and Benbecula.
