Samsung leak reveals Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7 FE, Watch 8 Classic colours and storage details before launch

India Todaya day ago

We are just over a month away from the mid-summer Galaxy Unpacked event, where Samsung is expected to unveil its latest generation of foldable smartphones and smartwatches — the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Flip 7 FE and G Fold (most probably), along with the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic. As is tradition, the company typically launches two foldable phones and two smartwatches at this mid-year event, along with other accessories and sometimes tablets. However, the foldables and smartwatches have always remained the highlight. All of that may change this year — or at least, that's what the rumour mill is suggesting.advertisementSo far, leaks suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is coming with a super-thin and lightweight design. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is also rumoured to feature a larger screen, along with an Exynos chip under the hood. Then there's the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, expected to debut as the first-ever foldable Fan Edition device. And finally, we have the Galaxy G Fold — Samsung's first triple-fold smartphone, a device about which very little is currently known online.According to a report by WinFuture, the Galaxy Unpacked event will see the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip 7 FE, alongside the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic. What does this mean for the earlier rumour about the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE launching with the Galaxy S25 FE in September? It's possible that Samsung could announce the Z Flip 7 FE at Unpacked and release it later in the year. Similarly, the Galaxy G Fold might also be teased at the event — perhaps something like a sneak peek, similar to what Samsung did earlier this year with the S25 Edge.advertisement
Anything is possible at this point, and we'll have to wait for official details. The launch date for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 is tipped to be July 10, which would be the same date as last year's foldable launch. As per the rest of the report, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to come in three colours: silver, black and blue. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is also said to arrive in three shades: black, blue and coral red. Whether the blue colour is the same across both models remains to be seen. However, we've already seen coral red on the Galaxy S25, and chances are the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will adopt the same finish. Additionally, just like the Z Flip 6, the Z Flip 7 is expected to come in two storage variants: 256GB and 512GB, with 12GB RAM as standard. As for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, it is said to come in two storage options: 128GB and 256GB. Rumoured colourways include black and white. Finally, when it comes to smartwatches, the standard Galaxy Watch 8 is said to come in grey and silver options, expected in 40mm and 44mm sizes, respectively. The Watch 8 Classic, on the other hand, is likely to be available in black and white.

Have a Galaxy phone? Samsung publishes tips on how to use it for longer

Let's be real, running out of phone battery in the middle of the day is one of the great inconveniences of modern life. Whether you're finding your way to some new brunch joint or in the middle of a heated group chat debate, your phone breaking down on you is less than convenient. But if you are using a Samsung Galaxy phone, the company has shared a few tips that can help you use the phone for a long time. Here are a few ways to stretch the life of your battery, and most don't even need a degree in electrical Dim that screen brightnessYour Samsung Galaxy's screen may be beautiful, but it's also a power-sucking beast. Turning down the brightness and minimising your screen timeout can make a big difference. Swipe from the top of your screen to pull down the brightness slider and slide it to the left. You can also make your display turn off faster when it's not in use; a 30-second timeout with Auto Brightness enabled is a good combination.2. Evict battery-draining appsStill clinging to apps you haven't opened since 2022? It's time to say goodbye. Background apps can silently drain your battery. Long-press on the app icon on your home screen and tap "Uninstall", or navigate to Settings > Apps to uninstall them in bulk. Can't uninstall it? Disable it is your next best option, particularly for recalcitrant pre-installed apps.3. Reconsider Always On displayadvertisement Samsung's Always On Display is convenient for glancing at the time or notifications, but it's also a subtle battery killer. Go to Settings > Lock screen > Always On Display to either turn it off entirely or make it show only at specific times.4. Cut the wireless chatterIf you're not using Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or GPS, turn them off. Each of these features regularly scans for connections, which eats up battery. Toggle them off via the pull-down quick settings menu.5. Switch to Power Saving ModeEnable Power Saving Mode to restrict background activity, dim the screen, and take a performance hit -- all for the greater good of your battery. Go to Settings > Device Maintenance > Battery to enable it manually or set it to activate automatically.6. Update software and watch syncingOld software may be a secret battery killer. Look for updates in Settings > About phone. Also, curb apps that sync constantly, such as email or social media. Have them sync less often or only when you refresh manually.7. Handle with careAvoid letting your battery run flat. Modern lithium batteries don't appreciate being fully discharged. Try to keep your charge above 20%. And if you're putting your device away for a while, store it at around 50% charge in a cool, dry place. No, the freezer doesn't count — it'll do more harm than good!8. Watch the signal strengthLow signal? Your phone will work overtime trying to connect, draining the battery. If you're in a weak coverage area, consider switching to Aeroplane Mode when not actively using the device.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Not Selling Well? Here's What Reports Have Said

Last Updated: Samsung has taken a bold step with the Galaxy S25 Edge version and it seems the company is slowly finding if people are warming up to the new product. Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge launch brought some concerns about its thin design affecting its demand and need in the market. And it seems the new model is struggling to find buyers since its debut last month. Reports this week have talked about Samsung finding the Galaxy S25 Edge sale figures lower than its expectations that have already put some question marks over its future prospects. The report here quoting industry sources claims that Samsung has not managed to gather a large crowd for its bold device and could become an ambitious experiment that eventually fails in the market. The Galaxy S25 Edge Conundrum Most people were concerned about the need for the Galaxy S25 Edge version especially with its thin and lightweight design. Granted, the phone has the durability to help you feel confident about its usage but the price tag and some of its limitations because of the size were also going to be questioned. The company usually shares sales figures for new launches that shows its excitement around the product. Samsung has not done that for the Galaxy S25 Edge in its home market or other regions, which tells you something is amiss. We'll probably get a clearer idea in the next few months but early signs are not encouraging to say the least. It seems people are finding the same reasons to look beyond the S25 Edge model, and probably waiting to see what Apple has in store with the rumoured iPhone 17 Air version later this year. Samsung should ideally continue with the Edge moniker for a few years, and maybe reduce its SKUs by replacing the Plus with the Edge variant and see if a newer pricing strategy gathers more buyers. We still find it early to judge a product that only made its way in May 2025. It is also possible that a unique form factor like the S25 Edge needs a different marketing push from the brand and maybe get the device into the hands of the consumers to at least let them experience it in person. Our time with the S25 Edge was surprisingly pleasant thanks to the premium design and flagship cameras. Yes, the battery life is a concern because of its dimensions but the novelty value of the product is hard to deny. First Published: June 05, 2025, 13:26 IST
